    Coupon code ARKOPIA in 🇺🇸 or ARKOPIA1 in 🇨🇦 for amazing discounts on Redodo batteries.
    REDODO is probably the most cost-effective LiFePO4 battery brand on the market. Grade-A cells, powerful, long-lasting and very well-priced. At only 7.4 cents per kWh, maybe it's time to leave the electrical grid.
    Math is fun: $379 / 1.28kw / 4000 cycles = 7.4 cents per kWh.

    🇺🇸 A US prepper l watch did not grid tie, and he explained to another prepper who did why, he explained that he saved on their installation charge + them only paying back 50% on his electricity, meaning he had a passive partner forever, and no contract which was always in their favour.👍

      DIY solar for an off grid system is very easy and affordable. Way cheaper than having an installer put in a grid tie. I have some videos on both systems and more to come on my channel. And I look forward to seeing where Arkopia goes I further solar endeavors.

    The lead acid battery has less usable AH than the redodo. You don't want to duscharge the lead acid bellow about half capacity or else longevity decreases a lot. So the redodo at 100AH vs 70AH for the lead acid

    I am not off grid and a full house system I find is to expencive still for the amount we consume and the amount Hydro wants to pay. But I do have a small 1KW solar & wind system that I charge three power banks for use like your self emergency power for fridge freezer and multitude of items plus I have the house wired with USB plugs that we run lap tops, I pads phones etc with the solar so the batteries are being cycled. Also have a back up solar system as well stored in an EMP cage. We have a 3 cu ft fridge as the others empty if a long duration event occurs.

    I’m kind of a newbie to this technology, would an inverter be needed to run appliances like refrigerators?

    • @ArkopiaYouTube
      @ArkopiaYouTube  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yes. Any household electronics use AC. DC is what batteries are and you need to invert it to AC for things like a household fridge. My USB charge station is DC so I won’t need an inverter for my USB equipment station. 👍✌️

      A solar system requires a PV/solar panel, inverter, charge controller, and battery if off grid.

    Think I'd compare the batteries as $/Wh where Wh are volts times amp-hours. The number of cycles is a bit misleading as the batteries get advertised as 4000 to 15000 cycles. That's quite the range! Probably realistic depending on how badly you treat them. Imagine your calculation of total lifetime storage capacity using 15,000 cycles! Also, the number of cycles does not mean the battery is toast after that many cycles, it just means the amp-hours have degraded enough, similar to how solar panels degrade over time. Most of these batteries come in around 30-40 cents per Wh. Rack mounted in Canada are likely closer to 60 cents. To maximize cycles, don't discharge to zero and set your charger so it doesn't take the battery past full charge (which many do, they go 'til the max voltage occurs which is beyond the 100% mark and well past the best for longevity)

    Wow thanks for the info and the discount code, I was bummed when you had your 16 oz smoothie sale because I had 3 of the 24packs in my cart and went to PayPal to purchase and the tiny delay they had allowed my items to go to SoldOut? I had to stop PayPal from processing the payment, did I do something wrong to have the items removed or taken from my cart? We really wanted to get them for our daughters baby for when she starts eating solid foods 😢😢😢. The newer 8oz bag price is still a good deal and we may end up getting them but for now we have to wait and hope you have a sale Soon 🙏. And make them in the bag. 👍👍👍

    I'm not a fan of any type of battery that requires a BMS to charge. One extra electronic failure point in your system. Bolt Silicate Salt batteries are the absolute best battery option for anyone want ultimate simplicity and reliability. They are sealed, can be 100 percent discharged with much less wear than other battery types, dont self discharge ( retain 80% charge after sitting 2 years), and they don't loose capacity in sub freezing temps. Silicate salt are the way to go.

    You forgot to include in your calculations the price of the actual production of energy. Your price is for storage only. The price of solar panels or whatever needs to be included, because you got to charge the battery somewhere. If you just charge it from the grid you didn't do anything.

    A few thoughts.. utility companies are continuing to increase flat rate charges and reduce per kWH credits paid. This intentional trend will eventually burn folks who bought grid tied only solar based on an anticipated payback over the coming years. Lifepo4 battery costs are declining and technology is improving so building a whole home battery storage will pay off regardless of the actions of utility companies. (That’s what I’m doing). We’ll continue to see better and cheaper battery storage options over the next few years, unless the #1 lithium battery exporter decides to stop exporting. Then you’ll really wish you had some Lifepo4 batteries! ⚡️☀️💡👍🤠

    • @ArkopiaYouTube
      @ArkopiaYouTube  6 месяцев назад

      Totally. A few years ago they would pay grid tie credits back to the grid at a 1:1. Fast forward a couple years they only give you half.
