Excellent, and delightfully succinct advice, which also applies to Portugal! We bought a farm which turned out to be owned by 12 people; arranging for everyone to be in place for the exchange of contracts was ... challenging. We decided to buy a small cottage to live in while the farm was being renovated. And yup, it was owned by 9 people, 3 of whom were in France. All the advice about trades, climate, surveyors and estate agents etc. also apply. As the lady says, remove the rose-tinted glasses. Oh, and yes, Learn the Language! 🙂
Hello Annette. I love your channel - informative and entertaining! We are from the US and recently bought a house in a historic center of Chianni, Tuscany. The house is actually in good shape and we really love the town. My question is about the humidity. When we viewed the house last year in November, all walls looked good. The seller turned the heat off over the winter and when we closed in April, plaster walls were deteriorating. We are fixing the plaster walls, (plaster over stone). We have gotten AC, dehumidifiers & Heat units in the home. My question for you is regarding painting every year. Is there anything you’ve done to control the humidity.
Unfortunately when you close up these houses for the winter they tend to have peeling walls when you return. We do run the heat on low when we are gone it seems to help a bit. But owning a stone home requires maintenance every year.Thank you so much for watching.
I HAVE TO know where you got your sweater. It’s gorgeous! What designer? I’m literally drooling! ❤ There used to be a designer who did a technique like that. I wonder if it’s the same 🤔
