My First Day With Uber Eats Plus Card! Is It Worth It?

  • After waiting for my Uber Eats Plus card to be delivered for over a month, I finally received it. The first thing I wanted to do was go out and see if accepting Plus card orders were worth my time. After activating the card and starting my shift, I realized I was now available for quite a few more orders than before. There were several restaurants in my area that I never would have guessed were only available through using the Uber Eats order and pay system. I was pleased to receive more offers on my screen, even though most of the orders would have been too far to drive for this shift.
    I also noticed the payouts for Plus card orders were significantly higher than regular orders. I don't believe I received one Plus card order that I would consider to be a lowball offer. I believe this is Uber Eats way of making the wait worth it for the driver. As you may expect, having to order the food from a non-fast food restaurant could leave you sitting in the waiting area for far longer than you may like. There are positives and negatives about completing Plus card orders, but at least in my first experience, I was happy to receive an increase of orders to my phone even if I didn't necessarily want to accept most of the offers.

    Man, it can be pretty rough getting an order in the Scottsdale Quarter with no parking, and then having to deliver to a apartment complex. A lot of restaurants in that area, but the traffic is bad too. I avoid it. I also feel like it might not be worth the time to actaully go into stores and shop for items because there could be lines and kill your pay. Very nice on the extra tipping too. I've also gotten huge orders, one from Canes in the same area where they tipped nothing. Do you ever feel like they steal tips, or it's just the customer?

    That’s incredible, driving 4 hours and only 60 miles! When waiting for orders, is it suggested to continue driving to catch new deliveries, or just stay camped out in the car (in a relatively decent area) waiting for the orders to reduce excess driving? I didn’t want to lose opportunities by not cycling around driving, but if the app catches a decent radius in general camped out that could help too.

      @@PhoenixDeliveries I just got the card and basically I read the fine print on it. They put the money on the card at pickup and basically that’s why will not reimburse. But as I own a small business myself the past 7 years. The reason of the card is for tax reasons it is cleaner when you are going to file your taxes because then you are not mixing personal with business finances. Also imagine how difficult it would be to constantly have to send money to different bank accounts for every order of food vs when we pay out. See we have the ability to control payout. But reimbursement we don’t. The card is cleaner because it goes directly from their bank and they can most likely track the orders and see who is ordering with that feature.

      I’m not sure if the plus card is new. I’ve only been an Uber Eats driver for a few months. They gave me an option to request the card as soon as I signed up. I’d check the app or online to see if you’re able to receive a card if you wanted to take some of those orders

    • @jonathanlay6434
      @jonathanlay6434 2 года назад +3

      Yeah I would imagine they would send me info about it in the app, like they did with the alcohol delivery a few months back. Probably not available in my market yet.

      @@jonathanlay6434 hey love how you. I’ve been an ubereats driver for almost 6 years. Yes the plus card is very new. The first ubereats debit business card was blue and black and you would download the go bank app to see your earnings or go in detail about your account. So when Covid hit ubereats decided to make there platform more versatile because at first we were just picking up food from restaurants and fast food places. Now the plus card is to do more things. Shopping at other stores besides just picking up just food. I just ordered my plus card because it was telling me to order it in the app. So I would say email them to see why you can’t order it yet or why you don’t see a prompt to order the card yet.

      I did it once when i was picking up Uber eats order from Indian restaurant and as i was putting it in my car i got request from DD to pickup their order from the same restaurant and customer was at the same direction as the UE customer. It was additional $20 so i hit ACCEPT. Worked well

    • @JayDi17
      @JayDi17 2 года назад +4

      I tried it once with UE and DD. I thought they were really close and nop. I was late for each of them for like 10 mins even tho both food were ready when I got to the restaurant. I was really scared with DD cuz they can give u a violation infraction for being too late. At the end, for the stress and frustration that I got, it wasn't worth it. So I recommend u not to try it. Just go with one and u can avoid any problem, also u don't know if one of those restaurants could be busy and make u wait 15 to 20 mins or even more. U will get bad rating for being late and customers can complain about u.
