The hardest thing for me to learn driving Uber Eats is patience. I never accept bad orders, and don't worry about my acceptance rate. I would rather wait for 5-10 minutes sitting still until a good order comes thru. Once I adopted this mind set, my miles dropped and income increased.
I got 200 for like 10 hours I hit a warning it told me I can only go 2 more hours I mean 200 for 10 hours isn't terrible but at 20 and hour it's not worth much with gas and wear and tear om vehicle that was me accepting every order that came through because I'm new at uber eats so I'm gonna start trying to pick certain orders see what happens.
I drive for Uber Eats. It’s decent. But every once in awhile customers tip way beyond the upfront tip. Received a 23 tip for a shop and pay order. On top of the original 18 up front.
I almost never except orders below $20 unless I’m in a hurry, but I’ll never go below $15. I think it’s the geological location because I live in the DMV and orders are more abundant. The highest order I’ve gotten was $60. I also make sure the miles don’t exceed the dollar amount. I will leave a hot spot to avoid rush hour traffic and then return after. I never go to fast food restaurants (McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, etc..!) I never go to places that make you wait at all lol. I never go to places I can’t park. I never accept orders that don’t lead me to another hotspot. I obey all speed limits and I always remember the drinks.
Hey I’m in San Antonio too, in medical center (nothing but apartments), I try $2 a mile and nothing under $5 but sometimes it’s not easy. Some days in 4 hours I’ll get $70, and some days I’ll get like $45. Maybe I need to be a little more picky.
@johnnywilson3674 Glad to see somebody in the same city. UE has been mostly very low to no tip orders for me since around Sept 2023. Been doing DD mostly. I usually stick to Helotes area. DD has been good to me as long as I maintain a good AR. Be safe out there!
one of the best days i had was making $50 in an hour. No extra tips, just big orders that were under 15 mins and very close to each other. that day was a good day.
I don't usually get orders that high unless something is wrong. Either several drivers canceled, the restaurant was closed, or didn't have something. In fact, I don't usually get order that high period. Driving in Texas sucks but it at least pays for gas.
I love all the people on Reddit and shit too who are like “you’re just fucking lazy, find a better job if you don’t like it,” I’m always thinking uhh we’re fucking lazy? You ordered fast food delivery less than a mile from your house get fucked.
Doing this as part time to my regular job (sitting in an office all day and working from home) is the best thing. Get out, meet people, see parts of town I never saw, find restaurants I never knew existed and the average per hour is about $20 consistently. All a bonus.
Great video! Nothing wrong with being picky with your orders, I do it all the time. I usually take orders $5 and up and low miles, anything less isn’t worth it. Also, at least in my area, fast food or fast casual orders usually stack, so you can have two $5+ orders and those add up quick, especially if you’re quick with delivering!
I get crappy offers like that to. Some people don't have a job and are really desperate so they are likely to take it. Also there's a chance for a hidden tip. One day I'm going to order from a restaurant far away and not tip in the app. They show up I'm handing them a $100 tip and say aren't you glad you didn't reject this offer.

Tried doing door dash to see if they paid better and found the pay was pathetic. Also I hate delivering food during winter, nobody shovels their walks and it is simply a pain in the rear. I only do rides now which makes me far more money and I don't have to constantly jump in and out of my climate controlled vehicle. You food delivery people really hustle for your dollars.
If you got the right set up uber eats deliveries in the winter depending on ya region can make you alot of money. I own a small lawncare company and in the winter I'll keep uber eats on while plowing driveways, plenty of times ive pulled up to drop off food to a customer notice their driveway durning or just after a snow storm hasnt done their driveway yet and ill go "extra 30 and ill slam out ya driveway way." and usually they say yes, some of them even end up having me mow their yard next mowing season too. If I end up with abunch of extra miles taking poo poo orders I usually dont sweat it to much, cause its tons of hours with eyes on my company truck, and I can sneak a business flyer onto the doorknob while im at it.
I’ve looked into Uber and Uber eats but after taxes, fuel and vehicle maintenance expenses, it looks like it comes out close to minimum wage which is about $11/hour in my state. This doesn’t take into account vehicle depreciation. It looks like it is really easy to rack up 50 to 75 thousand miles quickly.

Hello, for Uber Eats, if I have a car and we have two phones, we can take two orders at the same time, and if we do this, how much can we earn per month if we work full time?
Awesome presentation! Thank you for the information. It’s very helpful. I’m considering doing this. I just have one question. From what I understand you’re only allowed to drive and do deliveries for Uber eats for only 12 hours. After that 12 hours could you then start working for DoorDash just to work a couple extra more hours if you’re feeling ambitious. Is that possible? Thank you kindly my friend.
I am so glad it helped you! The twelve hours only counts when you are on an active delivery, not when you are waiting for an order. So it stretches to much longer than just 12 hours straight! Good luck!
Talking about the "hot spot," is that a place you HAVE to go to or you just do for cell service or....?? I'm confused. Don't you have service no matter where you are?
Would really be helpful to include **examples** of "bad" orders. I see a lot of this talk on RUclips but nobody ever posts example screenshots or anything else of these "ridiculous orders". i might get into this in a few weeks -- this is to all of the UE drivers - what are your criteria for good and bad orders? You could help out new drivers with examples of how you decide so we won't waste so much time on underpaid runs.
I post bad orders in a lot of my videos. These could be $3 for 12 miles, estimated as 40 minutes to complete or $8 for 5 miles, estimated as 30 minutes to complete
Bad orders are anything less than one dollar per mile. You have to keep in mind if you were to take a five dollar order for 15 miles, you are going to be out of your zone and have to drive back before you get another order. So realistically you would be driving five dollars for 30 miles. I know DoorDash would love dashers to deliver for charity, but people are out here trying to earn a living, not deliver for free.
"Chik fila takes longer to make their food" ?? Idk where you're from but where im at they be having lines around the store and still have my food ready when i get there.
Damn it just took you 4 HOURS to make $100 ??? ,on Doordash it takes me a week to make $100 and i also dash in the morning for 3 or 4 hours same as night and can’t make $100 only in a week

How can you reject all those trips? If your don't except trips, you can't make Gold status. Uber said if you aren't Gold or higher you won't get priority over others. What state and city do you work in? I'm in California, Orange County and I drive at dinner time. I would die to receive 30 trips you blow off. Driving 2 to 3 hours, I'm lucky to get 5 to 7 trips. I have been not getting tips, but someone else usually makes up for it. I got a $34 tip one night.
I'm my area burger King doesn't start the order until the driver shows up, if there's a line it takes longer. I stopped accepting them. Chick Fil a is too popular and you can't even get into the parking lots.
In east valley of phx i do 100 every 4 hours minimum. Picky but not nearly as nuch because lots of restaurants and stacking for good money. Stopped doing shopping because dont get stacked orders and can take longer
Hey Jacob, James in the Houston area market. I don't know why, but UE recently had an issue where tips were taking much longer than an hour to reveal tips after completing delivery, almost 12 hours sometimes. Have you experienced anything like that before?
Great video! I don't understand a few things though and was hoping you could explain. It says let's say $12.58 (includes tip). How can you figure out if the order was $12 and the if only the .58 cents was your tip? LOL. Like how do you know what's a good order for the tip wise?
It’s difficult on Uber to tell how much of the offer is the tip. The lowest base pay in my area is $2 and it may slightly increase depending on a few factors. The best way to look at it is attempt to find the highest paying orders without thinking about how much the tip is
tried uber eats for the first time today, I think i started too early which was a mistake but it took me like 2 hours to make 20 bucks so i just stopped... Sure I made back my gas money plus a little extra but with the state of the roads here city miles are absolutely torturous on a car. If thats what the pay is gonna be like I don't think its worth it even as a side gig I may not even break even in the longer term
Honestly from what I've seen mostly everybody that has posted a video about acceptance rate to cherry picked and miles done to what they made. It seems to end up being about $10-$20 an hour. But getting $20 an hour is on the rare side. Anything above that is probably weekends and during sports games. When I have done DoorDash like a year ago I made about $10 an hour but once I made $60 in just 2 hours. Its rare though. I started Uber Eats the past 2 days this week and I did 5 hours each. I made $10 - $12 an hour. That's including gas. I made about $116 but take off $18 I put in the tank...although I'd say about $8 is still left in the tank. So realistically I made about $106 for 10 hours of work. So below minimum wage for sure. Long run the car won't last as long and it turns into a momentary gain. Free freedom of being your own boss. I'm only doing it because my job is on break. So I'm just doing it to stay afloat. I've heard people have made $100k in a year. With how bad the pay is now I think that's a thing of the past now. It was probably covid pay that's why. Now I'm sure if you work 10 hours a day 7 days a week you could probably make $36,500 - $50,000. Give or take but you'll have no social life and taxes it'll put the pay more at $28,000 - $38,000 and you'll end up putting like 30k - 50k miles on you car in 1 year. So basically 1k miles on your car per $1,000 ehhh not totally worth it. Especially if you'll need to buy a new car again after 3 years if you did this and basically turning 3 years of income into more like 2 years. Losing 1/3 of your income. Just replacing the car. Sorry for long reply I was just being helpful with the math I did. Do it if you absolutely need to. But don't think it's a long term aka over a year kind of job. I'm probably only going to do it for about a year myself. After that imma have to figure something else out if I need to.
Oh and if you trying to figure out best times. Its usually 7am - 9:30am for breakfast and 11am - 2pm for lunch and dinner depends its usually 5pm - 11pm those are mostly from what I've researched seems to be what every single person mostly comes down to. Of course holiday and all that and rain snow etc. Changes those times. But I hope this was helpful info. I've only done about 25 orders myself but have done a crazy amount of research to weigh my options.
This is my new favorite app because the base pay and surge is better the only bad side of UE they need to push out more orders like DD.......DD try to punish you with the acceptance rate but UE you can go online anytime plus their payouts are better DD sucks!!!!!!!!!
I run DoorDash and Uber at the same time when I do this job. I have 3500 DoorDash deliveries to about 120 Uber deliveries in one year. That tells you how many good orders Uber gives 😂
man i almost miss the pandemic. Empty roads and i would start at 5 pm and end at 10pm and make at least 100 in 5 hours now i still average 20 dollars per hour but get NONSTOP .65 cents per mile orders and its insane. Also had a chat with support about a canceled order/mistake and they tell me oh you are one of the best rated uber drivers in all of phoenix. Then pay me like i am.....pay me what im worth
Hey Jacob, how are you getting those orders on Uber eats? Do I need to have a platinum status or something. I’ve been to your zone many times and I never get anything worth taking.
I am doing Ubereats for 3 months making $100 a day but this this job is not stable so i would be looking for another job cos i cant live making $100 a day then i have to pay the gas and the taxes by the end of the year. Also the wear and tear of your car. You are also stuck in the car for a least 8 hours nitpicking order to make $100 if you are lucky.
I do the same thing, I think "am I being too picky?" And then I'll accept a low order, go through hell, and say "and that's why I decline these" lol

Hi. Do they ask for facial recognition during the trip or the beginning of the trip and how many times a day ?
Seems to be random. It can happen any time you attempt to go online
Every 5th time you log on
Awesome presentation!
Good luck!
@@PhoenixDeliveries I understand now thank you kindly for your reply much appreciated, and please be safe out there!
Talking about the "hot spot," is that a place you HAVE to go to or you just do for cell service or....?? I'm confused. Don't you have service no matter where you are?
No you don't have to drive there. That's what I call a lot of restaurants close together
I could add this to my list of video ideas
Bad orders are anything less than one dollar per mile. You have to keep in mind if you were to take a five dollar order for 15 miles, you are going to be out of your zone and have to drive back before you get another order. So realistically you would be driving five dollars for 30 miles. I know DoorDash would love dashers to deliver for charity, but people are out here trying to earn a living, not deliver for free.
Hey, I started new with uber eats and I don't understand how it exactly works; do I always get the amount shown on the delivery screen?
"Chik fila takes longer to make their food"
??
Idk where you're from but where im at they be having lines around the store and still have my food ready when i get there.
Damn it just took you 4 HOURS to make $100 ??? ,on Doordash it takes me a week to make $100 and i also dash in the morning for 3 or 4 hours same as night and can’t make $100 only in a week
sorry i am super new to all this , when you went to cvs and bought some items did you pay for that and then wait to get reimbursed? or what?
Uber Eats has a prepaid card that I used to shop for the items
@@PhoenixDeliveries they mail you a card when you sign up to be an uber eats driver?
How can you reject all those trips? If your don't except trips, you can't make Gold status. Uber said if you aren't Gold or higher you won't get priority over others. What state and city do you work in? I'm in California, Orange County and I drive at dinner time. I would die to receive 30 trips you blow off. Driving 2 to 3 hours, I'm lucky to get 5 to 7 trips. I have been not getting tips, but someone else usually makes up for it. I got a $34 tip one night.
The fact that the orders can vary so much is insane. It’s like they’re baiting you to see if you’re a chump and will work for cheap
If i cancel one call they never send me more it takes 24 hous to start getting new calls
wait so you're saying lunch isnt a good time? is breakfast and dinner better?
Do you get paid by the order ? How does this work?
I just use uber eats. The worse I have done is 135 bucks in 7 hours. And the best I have done is 240 in 7 hours. I hoover in between both quantities.
That's cool!
What area are you in?
@@taylormade4393 long island new york
To uniqu3: you are lucky. I am in CT, the orders I get are not as good. Recently, all Uber was sending me were $2.00 ! Orders for hours.
I'm my area burger King doesn't start the order until the driver shows up, if there's a line it takes longer. I stopped accepting them. Chick Fil a is too popular and you can't even get into the parking lots.
She believes church is more important than food
Is it weird that I know exactly what jersey mikes that is because I deliver from there it’s in Kierland Scottsdale😂
Had my first tip bait and now I’m leery of UE 😢
It rarely ever happens it's only happened twice since I've been delivering wit them I've been with them for almost a year
I’m sorry to hear that. It really stinks when that happens
don't let that get you down. It happened on my first week of starting UberEats. It hasn't happened since, 150 trips later.
I love these series 👍🏻 can’t wait for GrubHub one!
I hope the Grubhub video is a good one!
I usually go out at around 430 for dinner time I made 75 bucks in 2 hrs 15 min no to bad
In my area, chic-fil-a is one of the better fast food places.
That’s great!
In east valley of phx i do 100 every 4 hours minimum. Picky but not nearly as nuch because lots of restaurants and stacking for good money. Stopped doing shopping because dont get stacked orders and can take longer
Nice! Some of the stacked orders can be pretty solid!
Hey Jacob, James in the Houston area market. I don't know why, but UE recently had an issue where tips were taking much longer than an hour to reveal tips after completing delivery, almost 12 hours sometimes. Have you experienced anything like that before?
I have not seen that. Very strange. I hope that's not intentional from UE
never experienced that. call support
I had this issue, but the tips eventually came in much later. I called support, they said it was a technical issue
The best way to look at it is attempt to find the highest paying orders without thinking about how much the tip is
@@PhoenixDeliveries Ahh.. gotcha. Thanks so much I really appreciate it.👍
Some people give cash tips
What do you mean by “hotspot” ?
tried uber eats for the first time today, I think i started too early which was a mistake but it took me like 2 hours to make 20 bucks so i just stopped...
I've never heard of the tip hiding over 8 dollars. That must be in select areas. I get them often for more than 8 dollars.
I’m 18. Just started living on my own and needed a job I could fit into my schedule. How much money is considered a “good” order
At least $5.25. No less. This would be a $3 tip which is considerate. No more than 3.0 miles unless it pays $4/mile.
Is Uber app link with Doordash orders?
How do you know it’s going to be a hidden tip?
dude hru? in what state are you? becouse the income depend of the country in someone case
I'm in Arizona
I just started UE. Do they still hide tips? I thought only DoorDash did that.
I haven't seen any hidden tips in my area. I had one person that tip baited me, but I called support and actually got the entire tip.
Is that hours online or active hours only?
Total hours from home to home
This is my new favorite app because the base pay and surge is better the only bad side of UE they need to push out more orders like DD.......DD try to punish you with the acceptance rate but UE you can go online anytime plus their payouts are better DD sucks!!!!!!!!!
I really like being able to go online whenever I want
Which is the best??
Ubereats or Doordash??
I need the real answer
Ubereats
0:39 False. No tips are hidden. I've had plenty over that amount. All were included in the base pay.
Can we talk about Boost zones? I need to take a poll. Who sees them, who doesn’t? How often? How much?
I did 37 in an hour for grubhub today. Grubhub is really hit or miss in my market. Good luck with the grubhub challenge.
Wow that’s impressive
In Las Vegas its atound $15 an hour
So after paying for gas , what are you left with from that 105 dollars?
I usually spend around 8-12% of my gross earnings on gas
I run DoorDash and Uber at the same time when I do this job. I have 3500 DoorDash deliveries to about 120 Uber deliveries in one year. That tells you how many good orders Uber gives 😂
Haha seems like DoorDash is much better for you
I drive in Tampa and if you wait for 10 dollars for delivery you'll be waiting for hours
How much do you usually make after the day is done?
this comment section confuses me, where im at (in canada) im making 100$ each session, usualy between 2-3 hours per session, averaging 10-15 trips
Are you doing delivery in US or Canada
US
Filled up with gas and now I’m negative $20.
Ouch
Loving the videos
Thank you!
Just started and I can’t even get orders 😢
how much of your earnings do you spend on fuel tho
Around 8-10% usually
man i almost miss the pandemic.
What market is this in?
Hey Jacob, how are you getting those orders on Uber eats? Do I need to have a platinum status or something.
I’ve been to your zone many times and I never get anything worth taking.
I am a platinum driver but I still got good orders before that
@@PhoenixDeliveries interesting , ok I’ll keep fishing 🎣 thanks for your response. Have an awesome day.
How do you do taxes when working for yourself?
I use Turbotax, but if you're not sure how to do them yourself, getting a tax guy could be a smart way to go
how many total miles driven?
One thing I really dislike about Uber is when they send out orders that have already gotten picked up
I am doing Ubereats for 3 months making $100 a day but this this job is not stable so i would be looking for another job cos i cant live making $100 a day then i have to pay the gas and the taxes by the end of the year. Also the wear and tear of your car. You are also stuck in the car for a least 8 hours nitpicking order to make $100 if you are lucky.
