My First Day With Uber Eats! Better Than DoorDash??

- In my very first night delivering with Uber Eats, I had a lot of fun and made some money too. It was important to me to add another delivery app to my arsenal so I could maximize my earnings. It took a few weeks from when I applied for Uber Eats until my background check was approved, but when I was notified I could start making deliveries, I jumped at the opportunity.
Going forward, I expect Uber Eats will be a large part of my delivery work. The Uber Eats app felt pretty easy to use and will only be better when I become more accustomed to the layout. I noticed there was a significantly lower amount of order on the Uber Eats platform than on DoorDash. This was expected because of the large market share DoorDash owns in the food delivery industry. However, the Uber Eats offers I received seemed much better than the typical DoorDash offer.

My experience (Los Angeles): I was able to get verified and start driving in 3 hours after I uploaded my insurance, license, and background check which was surprisingly fast for a first time gig worker like myself. I did UE for the first time yesterday and I made $90 in 2.5 hours. 8/9 customers tipped me both before and after the order was delivered! My highest tip was $9.95. Maybe this is the “honeymoon phase” I’ve read about but I’m taking full advantage.
That’s great news! Unfortunately I think the “honeymoon phase” might be real, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make good money after your first couple shifts. Keep it up and you should be fine!
Did you do alone? LA is hard to park and scary parking ticket. What time and what day did you do? I guess it’s weekend evening…
which cities is best Uber Eat Or Doordash?
@@tayyabblog6402 I don’t see anybody talk about Grubhub, but while I think DoorDash is probably the most popular where I live a couple hours away, my best friend lives, and they all use Grubhub that she knows of- but between business, friends and social life, she knows a lot of people.
@@tayyabblog6402 but my answer to your question would be it really depends it’s different everywhere.
Great vlog. I'm glad that you're Multi-apping now. Definitely a game changer.
It’s absolutely a game changer! I’m so excited I have two apps to work with. I’ve been trying to get approved for a few more
Sounds like that was a great shift and awesome day 1. Welcome aboard.
Thank you! I’m excited by what I’m seeing from Uber Eats so far
I always message the customer as soon as i pull up to the restaurant to let them know if i'm still waiting on their order or not. They always appreciate communication. Loving the channel!
Thank you my friend for your time.. you're awesome for showing us how
You’re welcome! I hope I can continue to provide great videos for you!
Oooo nice one. Keep going brother. Uber eats is amazing
I’m having a great time with Uber Eats so far! They have a ton of gray features that other apps don’t have
Aww your such a angel so kind and adorable
Thank you. I hope you’re enjoying my videos
Hey Jacob, did you ever manage to get the acceptance screen map glitch fixed? I just started Uber Eats this week and it is happening to me too. Very inconvenient!
1:52 I have strong evidence suggesting they hide the tip if a customer tips more than $8. I did a video analyzing this a couple weeks ago. But honestly, $8 per person is plenty for me to see whether it's a worthwhile order so I don't mind as much as I do with Doordash hiding tips.
Yes they hide from 8 or even 8.50....which is a smart thing gives us plenty of information while they can protect against cherry picking as well
That’s great to know! I guess DoorDash can hide any tips above like $3.50 or $4.00 so it’s nice Uber Eats doesn’t hide anything under $8.00. I think I’m happy with that
I love doing UE in Scottsdale, my favorite area
You gotta pay attention to that offer screen as a beginner on Uber. They'll send your ass across city, county, state or national lines. As Megan Risman said in one of her videos - Uber works great as side hoe, don't depend on it full time.
Yeah it would be hard to rely on Uber all by itself but I’m having a good time with it
I’ve been doing it since it started just put in the wor and know your areas, restaurants and don’t take real crappy ones unless your staying in your zone
That’s some good advice!
Are you able to audit the actual tips or do you have to take Uber's word for the amounts?
I can go into my earnings and view the exact tip I received from the customer
That was a rookie move 😂 if you get stack orders and you know both places you can go to either one and then pick up the other one
On Uber Eats, I don’t think it’ll let me pick up for the 2nd restaurant first. I would like to be wrong about this, but I haven’t found out if I can do this
Customers tip bait and lower the final pay amount I wish Uber would change that
I heard of that happening to other people but I’m glad I haven’t experienced that yet
I had once and it was weekend night.
Bustard lady. Never forget.
Many tipped more but…
Uber eats seem easy to change a tip on app.
Where do you find big orders? My first day was yesterday and i could only get orders from 2-10 dollars. Im in orlando.
I’d say $2-$10 is very typical. Orders $10 and higher mainly come when there’s two orders at the same time. You’ll eventually see bigger orders when you drive more and learn how the app works
Great 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Wow nice video host I like that
Thank you! I hope it was helpful for you!
Unfortunately, I can't do UE.
They won't accept my insurance, because "my name is not my insurance", that's because my parents pay for it.
And my vehicles are "too old". They have to be a minimum of 15 years!!
Like wtf UE!! 😡😭
not hidden tip. uber customers has option to reduce or add to tip up to an hour after delivery, so it is a gamble but usually they tip the amount you accepted job for, and often tip extra if you not multi apping too much and giving slow delivery times...after the hour up it shows full pay for that order. my advice use uber for lunch in downtown areas, make 30 plus an hour consistently.
Thanks for the advice!
Are you talking about downtown LA?
Scary parking ticket…
Where to park?
@@louietoltolvlog9699 i am missing a leg so i use my trusty handicap sticker...i work Seattle area.
Good job
Thank you! Uber Eats has been pretty good to me!
@@PhoenixDeliveries I'm glad. Just keep up the good work
The tips won't come in until the Customers close out on their end...I took a $5 taco bell order and an hour later it was closed out to$25...also I take alot of smaller orders because I want to complete the Quest Promos which can bring your weekly avg up quite a bit.
I really wish my area had quest promos. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one to complete in my area, which is weird because I feel like it’s pretty busy here
@@PhoenixDeliveries sorry to here you dont have quest....I'm in atlanta and my current quest is 60 trips by sun and I get an extra $195....it really makes a difference in my weekly total plus, you end up taking more small orders and you make more money....I get huge tips on about 1/3 of the small orders..I do decline if it takes me 10+ miles away because areas change drastically so I do kinda cherrypic..thanks for responding and putting out content!!
I appreciate your kind words! It's always nice to hear that and very helpful to learn more about what's happening in other markets!
How long did it take for you to get approved?
It took me quite a while and I had to contact support a few times. Don't be afraid to contact them if you want to speed up the process
My English is not very good, I still don't quite understand everything you said in the video, I would like to know if it is possible to earn 1000$ or more a week in Phoenix with uber eats and doordash, in about 40/50 hours p week? thanks
I think it is possible. If you work 50 hours every week and earn an average of $20 per hour, you’ll hit $1,000 every week. Unfortunately my schedule doesn’t allow for testing this out right now but I think it can be done. Thanks for watching!
UE is terrible in louisiana sat for an hour and nothing. Turned on Doordash and bam instantly got hit with orders
Yeah I’ve noticed DoorDash has a lot more orders but UE can have higher payouts
Better than DoorDash but some Uber eats customer reduce a tip after delivery. DoorDash is hard to take out tip.
Every order is delivered properly, carefully but nasty person does that.
I'm happy I haven't experienced a reduced tip for Uber Eats yet. I'm sure I won't be too happy when it happens
You turn on the ubereats and doordash at the same time ?
Yes I do, especially if one of the apps is really slow. That way I can accept the best order between the two apps
@@PhoenixDeliveries ok I will try. Thanks for your feedback
I have other videos about how to use two apps at the same time if you want to check those out. Make sure to do this safely so the customers always get their food on time and you don’t get deactivated
What is the title of this video please?
@@jean-frederickouame7547 "My Multi-Apping Strategy with DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc. to Increase Profits" I explain how to multi-app safely in this video and then I also talk about what to do when you're more experienced working with two or more apps. Hope this helps and remember to only do what you feel comfortable and avoid deactivations!
Man i can barely get a 7 dollar ping lol. All mines are like 5 and under.
I certainly get quite a few of those $2-$4 offers. I try to decline them and move on
it was not great for me it kept dinging me out of my zip code. For deliveries I do I prefer to drive a company car.
Yeah we’ve gotta be careful about not taking deliveries too far out of our usual zone
@@PhoenixDeliveries yes that's why I deliver auto parts and also have my own delivery job.
I really dislike the Uber Eats app. After driving a few weeks on DoorDash and trying Uber Eats, I stopped driving for Uber. The Uber Eats app on my phone uses the original monotone Siri voice which drove me nuts. Also the map is confusing. Anyone else have this reaction?
Their navigation system took me a while to get used to but I was willing to look past that because of order payouts were the same level or better than DoorDash
Me too. I have no option to change google or apple map yet. Sucks.
Over 300 deliveries , why never see one order like yours ?
Which order are you discussing? I might be able to help
Do you give the receipt to the customer when using the plus card
I don’t think you need to give the receipt to the customer since they already have their receipt from Uber. Just take a picture of the receipt for the app and then you can probably throw it away
@@PhoenixDeliveries what’s your opinion though can you actually make more money with the plus card? Also I was wondering what’s the reason for the plus card because I was talking to a customer and he had no idea that I was the one ordering and paying for it at the restaurant he said he just ordered and payed through the uber app like everyone else does he didn’t know that on my end I ordering and paying for his food.
I haven’t had the plus card long enough to know if you make more money but I like it so far. And yes, I don’t think the customer knows they are ordering from a restaurant where we have to order and pay ourselves, so that’s inconvenient for them, but I think it’s used for restaurants that don’t fully want to be on the Uber East platform and directly accept orders from Uber
@@PhoenixDeliveries and I noticed on that uber eats order that I had to pay for with the plus card the customer wasn’t that far away but I had to wait like 20min for the food and my pay was $22.00 wasn’t sure if the waiting time had anything to do with the pay cause the drop off was only 3min away
I think they factor in the waiting time and offer you more money to take an order where you’ll have to wait longer at the restaurant. That’s just my guess
every market is different dude some places people mayy hardly use uber eats
They are on the same route
What about the plus card
I didn’t have the plus card when I made this video, but the video I posted yesterday has my first order with the plus card
It’s not a glitch that app is like that
No way? That’s so annoying. You’ve never been able to see where the restaurant is and where you’re dropping off?
@@PhoenixDeliveries I been months with them that alway been like that
That’s going to get frustrating quickly. Thanks for letting me know!
@@PhoenixDeliveries welcome
Hi jacob u are live in arizona
Yep I love it out here, but it gets pretty hot in the summer!
UE got bs promotions too.
Made 384 today
That’s amazing! Were you working just Uber Eats or multiple apps?
Just uber eats I'm doin it full time n work more then 40 hrs a week
Good job! One of these days I’m going to see how much I can make in one day. I haven’t hit $384 quite yet
@@94blockmarauders2 was that with bonuses, or just straight pay?
Because that's pretty high, how many hours did you work?
I just started, never done gig work before, I got the first 100 deliveries minimum pay bonus.
I made $1375 in 5 days because i knocked the 100 deliveries out in 5 days.
For 14 hrs
U E better tips but fewer orders
Yeah that’s what I’ve been seeing. DoorDash has a lot more orders so I can’t just rely not Uber Eats
In Canada, Vancouver it's Uber is pathetic...
That’s sad. I’ve come to really like Uber. I wish they had more orders in my area
