  • A look at my very first day delivering food on the UberEats app. I go through the signup process, then we do a ride along as I show you how to use the app and how much money I made delivering food in Seattle.
I found that tips were better than expected and earnings were more than I had anticipated as well. I believe as I get more accustomed to using the app earning swill increase even more!

I had my first experience delivering with UberEats last night. I only did 3 orders in 2 hours and made $40 but no one tipped me! When I woke up this morning I saw I had $55 because everyone waited hours to submit their tip. I'm excited to drive again tonight!

I live in the Phoenix area and it’s extremely busy here. I’m retired but I drive for Uber eats for extra $! I have absolutely no downtime I receive a new order before even dropping off the last, it’s crazy once you logon! I always end up having to decline an order just to be able to sign off for the day. I make between $20-$25 an hour and almost always average $10 a trip. Today I had two great tips one $12 tip and one $11 tip and then the rest were just average. Because I live in a heavily populated area my mileage is always low. Today only used a little over 1 gallon of gas and made $70 with seven trips. I really like Uber eats because it is so easy to use and I can go anytime I want… It is busy here anytime of the day because of COVID-19. And it hot 🥵 I drove before Covid also but it was not as busy then, but I still like it! Peace Out✌🏼🌵

152 over 8 hours is 19 an hour. according to what you just stated, they are pretty close to that 20-30 an hour. The wear and tear has a cents per mile deduction on your taxes which will cover those items. So 152 for a first day and having an order that was 26 miles is quite reasonable.

I agree, I have Door Dash and Uber Eats, UE pays better with promotions and in my experience UE customers tip way better in my areas I like to work for whatever reason. A short $6 run on DD is typically about $9-10 with UE after the tip. I only work these 5pm-9pm all days and 11am-2pm lunch on weekends only. I try to make at least $1 a mile (all miles) which I can barely do on DD, but with UE in the good times and areas with tips $1.50+ a mile average is very doable. I will say that DD pizza orders, even Little Caesars, pay pretty decent all the time.

That dollar amount is their calculation of the fee you will get from Uber eats. It's a minimum pay kind of like the old doordash minimum guarantee except that tips are not factored in. Most customers tip when planning the order now but Uber gives them an hour to make any changes, which is why you rarely see the tip right away. I actually terms to reverse cherry pick, I'll pass on most high pay orders because they tend to be longer distance. I find I do best when I ignore the dollar amount and focus on the time. If you can keep yourself to 20 minute deliveries or less you can do quite well.

      A TOTAL SCAM!
WE used to get paid for pick up delivery fee time and distance per order.
      It WAS broken down.
60.cents a mile for 100% gross - 21 cents a mile or 35% to use app. = 39 cents per mile on average per order.
We used to get paid 15 cents a minute (that's it and why I rarely wait more then 5-8 minutes for food and now less then that because they cut our pay to wait sept of 2018!!! 15 cents = 100% gross -35% to use app per order = 5.25 cents in fees per MINUTE. We netted .0975 cents a MINUTE to wait for food after arriving. That is why we swiped when we arrived and waited it determined our pay per order. They stopped paying us time to.wait 9/18 in Austin and the other 11 major cities and 3-6 months later every city in 🇺🇸 stopped getting paid to wait.
Pick up and delivery fee was also deducted

If someone watch 🐕 this gig ECONOMY for fair pay uber and the rest would be in jail for fraud deceptive trade practices. Mail fraud unethical business practices the list goes on!

On the older pay model where time was paid, the pay was calculated from restaurant arrival to delivery completion. I notice it's similar now in that if you get delayed getting to the restaurant there is no additional pay, only if you get delayed from arrival at pickup to delivery.

Uber Eats is simply Not worth the time or the money. I live in Los Angeles, traffic can be a nightmare here and they are sometimes paying $3.00 dollars for a 2 mile delivery, Not including the miles it takes to drive to the restaurant. Gas is over $3 in Los Angeles and for Uber to pay 3 dollars for some of the deliveries is insane! Another issue with Uber Eats is that most of the orders are to be delivered to the door step of the customer and many customers still do not have the decency to tip after asking the driver to take the food to their door step. I'll try my luck with postmates to see if it pays better.

I'm doing my first Uber Eats deliveries tonight, I've been dashing, but am now adding Uber Eats. I'm a fellow Seattlite, so maybe we'll run in to each other out and about. Thanks for the inspiration!

@@Gignation just had to tell you, I did 3.5 hrs with Uber Eats tonight, and made over $100!! I don't like their GPS, but I like the $$ :)

And I bring a bar of some kind as well, snacks like pretzels/beef jerky, banana,or turkey sandwich in a lunch bag and bottled water or iced coffee! :) (depending on how long my shift is)
And if I forget to bring anything I usually just get a burrito from taco bell (double steak, gauc, lettuce, tom, sr cream )cuz is easy to eat while driving or waiting for an order.

Lol you're really in depth. I'm literally prepping food for tomorrow because gig economy stuff is my fulltime thing so I usually get home around 9 and start around 11-12 so snack wise, some apples and protein bars but I bring my entire cooler full of stuff. I still live with my mom so it's usually Thai food! Jonathan should make a video about this.

@@Gignation How long did it take for your background check to clear? I applied for Uber/Uber Eats a week ago but the Background Check section on the application still says pending (I have a clean background and I even applied to Postmates the same day as Uber Eats and my Postmates Background Check came back clear within 2 days. They both use the same Background Check company called "Checkr".). I didn't fill in the vehicle/insurance info yet tho because I'm going to rent a car from a separate car rental company that specializes in rideshare rentals/insurance. Do you think the background check is taking long because I didn't put the vehicle info? I need the background check to clear first in order to qualify to rent the car from the third party company.

Yeah, you could do that.. but if you’re careful and just take one or two bites of food out of each order you won’t get caught and you will be fed all day long... I’ve gotten really good at unrolling chipotle burritos, grabbing a few bites with extra steak and than wrapping it back up.. the customers have no idea.. it works if you work it!

I wonder if uber eats is as good as grub hub now??? i thing they bought out door dash or some other company in last month or so... we don't want 1 company to have a monopoly on this gig bizzz... thats bad for workers...
