The World War 2 Server is now online, Look for "Growling Sidewinder World At War Server" under DCS Open Beta, you will need the channel map, a world war 2 module and world war 2 assets pack to get into the server. Hope to see you guys there, much love.
Awwwwwww dude I’m sorry but you should have told us the map before the sale expired.
Dude sorry I dont like the 109 I love watching the p-51 I hope you do more in the p-51 however you are the polit and I'm the watcher awesome flying and do like when you fly more Russian aircraft
@@lordbluebaron2270 lol I've been posting videos about the server and the fact that its on the channel map for over 3 weeks now lol.
@@GrowlingSidewinder Can you somehow lock that red 109 so only you can use that color on the server?
I think it would be cool for everyone to know exactly who's piloting whenever they see a red 109.
The Growling Baron!
Please show us Mitsubishi A6M Zero!!!! TKS!!!
"We're over Germany - sorry, German-occupied France"
GS getting a little too into the RP there
lold
It is exactly as I feared - GS returns to the server because he can’t resist clubbing baby seals.
6:30 the moment GS realised he's actually playing WarThunder
“That’s all it took; I just shot him in the wing.” On close inspection, that left one biiiiig fo hole in his wing. Explosive shells ftw!
Mine shells will knock out all control in a wing if it manages to hit it
It's a 30mm there is a video of test done on Spitfire with the german 30mm. The Spitfire's tail gets blown of with 1 hit. Firing trial of 30mm German Mine-Geschoss HE/T round look it up
@@palker4 Both the Allies as well as Axis obviously did study damaged and wrecked planes to determine, among other things, the effectiveness of the weapons. Usually, a single 30mm was sufficient to shoot down a single-engined plane, and on average 4 hits to down a four-engined heavy bomber. It's a shockingly effective weapon against aircraft. In comparison, 20mm autocannons required about 5 hits to down a fighter, and 15-20 to down a heavy bomber. And further, for 12.7mm HMG's another factor of five worse performance, about 25 hits to down a fighter and 100 to down a heavy bomber. No big surprise that late-war figher designs tended to go for all-cannon armament.
The only downside of the German 30mm Mk108 was somewhat low muzzle velocity, which made long range and high deflection shots difficult; OTOH a high-velocity 30mm autocannon would have been a much bigger and heavier weapon and would most likely not have fit in a Me109.
@@jbepsilon That is true, the MK 103 30mm cannon, which was much higher velocity than the MK 108, was simply too big to fit in the 109 and would see use mainly in twin engine bomber-hunters and some very late war fighters like the Do 335 and Ta 152. I also believe the the Fw 190 F ground attack fighter could also carry the MK 103s in gun pods since they proved to have very good anti-armor abilities.
Love the red 109 man! Just 🤤👌 it's very nice to see this little tribute
Wasn’t expecting The Red Baron to be here, but then again, it’s a bright red fighter, so I’m not too surprised.
Manfred, you forgot to rip him a new one over all those holes he allowed the enemy to put in his plane.
So you painted your plane red, does that mean it goes 3x more faster
@@LeonardoLopez-qq4tx It meenz it spitz more dakka!

Been having a blast on the WW2 server this week. A quality of life suggestion could you put a few 190 A-8 slots at Abbeville, with bombs its basically impossible to get that thing airborne on the short runways at the other two. Been using the grass to get up with bombs but the surface has some bumpy areas that have caused quite a few accidents lol.
Hi man, thank you for that feed back I will deff look into those changes
@@GrowlingSidewinder achtung spitfire !
Btw when are you goingvto fly the focke-wolf 190 ???
hey man, I've placed fw190s at merville its the same 5000 foot runway its just a little closer to the action so you should be able to get off the ground no problem now, updates will go up with the next server restart.
@@GrowlingSidewinder awesome thanks!
I think I speak for many other viewers when I say *moar slo-mo kill-cam!*
Seriously, that s*** is awesome.
Seconded!

About the Red Baron, if he hadn’t been killed in WWI, I feel like he would’ve been more of a General in WWII, helping the Germans establish the Luftwaffe and whatnot because of his military expertise and tactics.
Brilliant
There probably would have been a better training regiment for German luftwaffe pilots
This gives Red Baron vibes
"Curses! It's the Red Baron!" said the World War 2 flying ace on his doghouse.
@@Kelvin_Foo :: Sopwith Camel has entered the lobby ::
Hello there lol
@@Morrov hello xD
Manfred von Richthofen, would be proud. Love the red bf109.
All we need now is the eagle spitfire of poland to arrive over dover.
If he had not been killed in ww1, he essentially would probably have been in charge of the airforce instead of Goering, who was also a fighter pilot in ww1.
Which probably would have changed the air force of nazi germany, and made them more fighter focus, and the battle of britian probably would have played out differently as well, as the red baron had a better concept of battered management and strategy then Goering did... also the project for jetfighters that started in the 1930s probably would have been pushed earlier too, the me 262 would have probably been in combat as early as 42.
Anyone asking for proof of this theory, even in ww1 the red baron was critical of german designers saying that they were too slow to progress, as they were leaps ahead early and the entente, would develop new and produce faster than the germans.
I move for a special WW2 audio intro to replace "Good Kill, Good Kill!!" on these videos lol
How about? "Tally-Ho!!! A gaggle of Huns coming out of the sun! Break! Break! Break!"
Bf-109, the most produced fighter aircraft ever. Also, allied bombing had little to no effect on German aircraft production with around 10,000 Bf-109s being produced between 1944 and the end of the war. Producing skilled pilots was a bigger issue by that point.
Indeed there was no where left to train them, the Reich was being squeezed from both sides.
I wonder why they built another 10,000 if they knew they didnt have the oil or synthetic oil to actually use any of these machines. False hope? Orders from the fuhrer? Or did the companies producing them simply not give a damn as long as they were paid for their work?
The only plane I know of that had a higher production number was the Il-2 - but that's not a fighter.
Needless to say how much the 109 evolved during the years.
And never bothering to give their pilots a break, like with the Thunderbolt, the Mustang, or the Spitfire, by installing a bubble canopy.
@@TheSoundsage They gave the bubble design to the FW-190, though with their limited access to raw materials it never was the big beautiful view you get out of a late Spit or -D model Mustang.
I just realised from like 500 subs you are my fave. i eat my dinner listening to you, i get baked listening to you, i watch po.......
Nice
im too afraid to ask
DCS is one of those games I've always wanted to play, but I don't feel like watching 2 hour long tutorials just to take off
Play Il-2 sturmovik. You can customise it so you can chose how much sim or acade you like.
BF-109 is truly the Fokker DR.1 of WW2 and with the red livery its Just perfect. Great job looking forward to the next WW2 video.
Ace in a Day! Reminds me of several WWII pilots I admired as a kid. Col. Eric Hartmann, Cdr. Alexander Vraciu and Gen. Chuck Yeager.
Hey GS, I've been watching your channel for like a week or so and I picked up some kind of concept for 1-circle and 2-circle fight which helped me tremendously in WT sim battles. Literally using this kind of fighting made me a better dogfighter. Keep up the good work
I think the p47 was a maneuver kill. Low energy under 150 MPH IAS and she was doing a very aggressive turn.
I've always liked to fly the 109 in flight sims, for decades now. Versatile, can turn decently, and outclimb almost anything. In the hands of a smart pilot it easily becomes the best fighter of the war.
Well the most succesful Fighter Pilot of all time was flying a Bf-109, so yeah.... for a pre WW2 plane it was good until it's last days.
It's a perfect time to fly and master Bf109k4 in DCS. Spitfire IX, P47 and Mosquito. What a nice underperformed set of planes to shoot down:)
Thank you so mich for this server. Finally somewhere I can start learning the FW
"The Butcher Bird" is on par more with the Mustang if you are good with one you will fare well in the other, historically when tested after the war and their capture.
@@debbiestimac5175 The FW in DCS seems to really have a tough time, so many vids of them getting chewed up..yet rare to find anything where the channel creator is actually flying one.
These WWII dogfights are so awesome! I love me some jets.. but this is finesse
*Sees red 109*
*Thinks of red baron*
This is gonna be a good one
That maneuver kill on the Mustang was hilarious 😂
Oh man, this may be what makes me finally get a DCS rig, awesome flight too
Ur a fantastic pilot, ur airmanship is quite outstanding you would have made an ace ww1/2 pilot. 👍🏻
Love the WW2 Content!!
I live very close to Dunkirk. I was just looking at maybe going there next weekend.
I guess I don't have to now. I watched this clip! :D :D
Amazing video!! Keep them coming 🔥🔥🔥
Note to self: Watch for the bright Red Bf-109 in the server... If you see him, your day just got more "interesting"....
Congrats on 500k man 🚀
I love WW2 planes. Mind doing more of them? In Fw 190 or Me 262 for example?
My favorite move in109 is climbing spiral combined with high aspect shots. You are makin BF invincible.
Messerschmidt one-shots a Thunderbolt.
A10: Am I a joke to you?
You should put in a request to your Staffel Commander for a 1/2 credit on that Mustang over Occupied France! Sharing kills like that created a feeling of comraderie and high esprite de corps, from what I have read. It was a very common practice on the Allied side. Love the red color on your ME, but air superiority blue would be so much better!
The all red skin looks clean on a 109, i made one for the jv 44 190 d-9s with the red bottoms, i made one that was all red with the red and white striped bottom and it was one of my favorite skins ever for the dora, kept everything how one would normally look symbol wise. I forget what number i made it. I gave it red tipped props to and i think the hub was red, or part of it. I wish the german planes had a centerline site, to go along with the centline weapons. The gyro did alot for the 50cals on the mustang, so much when german pilots tried them they said theyd prefer a gyro and 1 cannon as opposed to 2 cannons with a non gyro sight, thats how good they were. The gyros the germans came up with was 30 pounds, wich was considered light back then i guess caus they considered it lightweight also. But it was still offset to the right. The perfect combo for me would be the p51's gyro centerline sight, with thbe d-13s weapon layout, or the d-9s but with the cannons convergence properly set, theres actually a guide on how to do this to correct way so ur cannon shots coverge right in betwen the machine guns, you actually dont make the 2 mgs converge at all you leave them straight and just have the 2 cannons converge, if u get the distance down its lethal. But the d-13 also have a wise way of setting the convergence.
love these WWII video's
nice to see the air battles.
Maybe i should try this game some day. had fun in the past with Red Baron (very old) and Xwing vs Tie fighter + Rouge squadron. so also might enjoy this.
Nice video. I have always liked the 109. Even more now that it's red!!
OOoooh look the Red Baron flies again.....
Love it!!!!!
more of this kinda stuff please!
Derek!!! Guitar God guy man dude.
Flying in red BF109... that's like a middle finger to the opposition... :D
Nice shooting Tex!
I always thought you'd like the 109. It's a true dogfighter's aircraft.
it is indeed growing on me
Best videos on RUclips man. If you would consider streaming this or making a second channel for longer/lower effort videos just so we can have more that’d be great. I can’t afford to play this an it is my absolute dream video game it’d mean a lot if i could live vicariously through you as much as possible
Red Baron lives again!😮👍
That first kill was absolute filth dude. Love it.
The Mustang driver decided to join the Navy.
Yes...looking for the RED 109!
Back then when computer still 80486, we do had WWII simulator from dynamix, european and pacific theater. That's the first time I'm using joystick. Also BoB simulator which I forgot who made it. I enjoyed them immensely.
3:50 He's turning... into an F-35S, the subsurface version.
4:22 The engine sounds! To me this is better than jets.
You make me want to buy the BF109 and get good at it, I got the P-51D already and that's my baby but still this looks awesome!
That red livery is so cool
That's a beautiful skin, wish it was on WT lmao
I love bright red aircraft for some inexplicable reason
MORE PLEASE!
That looks like a lot of fun.
Yak -3 dogfight would be awesome!!
Growling Sidewinder the one that should be called the Red Baron of DCS lol.
That is one beautiful plane all in red 😍
I really like these WW2 fights!

I think this convinced me to get the 109
The best Era for aviation ever. New tech all the time.
I think if we were in WW3 technology would go rapidly like then.
@@Chimla I think that may very well go to occur. I mean just look at this tyranny unchecked. But I do pray that it shall not come to this solution. Siggh

keep up the WW II content.... love the red baron skin, i want one...
Very nice indeed.
My fav simulation so far
Mm, the Best Friend 109. Easiest WW2 aircraft to fly, personally.
Nice shooting Tex...hate to see what you are gonna be like when you get the 109 down.
Interesting dog fights.
Digging the "Bring it, b**ch" red.
Looks to be a fun server!
I'm very surprised the Thunderbolt didn't take out your radiator on right side.
Its funn GS when you narrating with the fast jets your narration is much faster, but with the WW2 stuff its like your voice speed is 1/2. LOLOL
Got the server out just in time for the channel map update
By far the hardest thing for me is spotting planes. Second hardest thing is identifying planes.
Having seen a few more of your IL-2 videos now…
Maybe it’s not so much the Bf109K that cleans house as it is the guy behind the controlls that cleans house.
I think it is cool how your wings healed...
Lol u know this is multiple flights stitched together right ?
6:40 Was i the only one who was thinking GS was about to commit a blue on blue over the guy stealing the kill? lol. I lowkey was like "do it DO IT give in too the anger" when he pointed his nose at him XD.
Lolol I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind lol

Meiningschol (sp?) rounds do hit like a Mack truck.
The WWII dogfighting is the best!
The boys kept yanking their sticks too hard and the last thing they saw before they splashed was bright red!
Der rote Baron ist zurück!
the 109 20mm is pretty good too. its HE content is higher than allied ones.
That Bf's skin on thumbnail: look how they massacred my boy
Pure beauty. I have a question: why the cannon rounds are invisible? I mean, why don´t you use tracer rounds for the cannon?
Enemy doesn't see where he shoots
*Sabaton intesifies*
CALL OUT HIS NAME ROTTEKAMPFLEIGER!!
Why wouldn't you want to use HE rounds? "HE rounds for bombers"? hell no! "HE rounds for everything"
Achtung spitfire !🤣
Richthofen would’ve been 47 at the outbreak of WWII. But nice homage to the Red Baron! :)
Nice

I would love a WWI module with Bi and Tri planes, those things where slow but turned like Tron.

Gj red barron
Pretty ballsy to fly around in an all red 109
So are you volunteering to fight 1v1 or even 1v3 against Growling Sidewinder? Active/retired pilots/aviators watch his vids to refresh what they were taught at the Academy/Weapons schools about BFM. He's the theoretical professor and simulation instructor everyone wishes they had/have.
@@debbiestimac5175 GS is the real life Iceman he understands the game way to well I would only be target practice for him.
@@MMACHMP It's not a 'game'. DCS is a high fidelity combat simulator. For example you need to know the intricacies of the Soviet Union designed MiG-21 (a very, very high wing loading aircraft similar to the F-104 and other century series jets) just to LAND it in DCS, because too slow or too short a runway and you will crash either on the approach or run off the end. ...then you must learn the weapon system employment zone of the offensive systems and radar/IR tracking and target designation protocols, etc. Nothing about DCS resembles the aviation components of games like COD : Modern Warfare, etc.
Also it is "way too well", there are two o's in that word. Like how a lot is two words and not spelled "alot". Thanks for the chat and have a great weekend!
I prefer the Thunderbolt over any other WWII warbird. It can take a beating no other fighter can. Boom and zoom it's unbeatable. In my simulator I have had more kills than any other.
Cant wait till my weekend. Gonna have a blast on the ww2 server
