That tweet perfectly highlights what often trends on Japan twitter, Naoe. Naoe is short for “Nao enjeruzu” meaning “but the angels“ emphasizing Japanese media articles that focus on Shohei’s performance while the Angels get the L.
It’s also a pun since Naoe was a warlord with love as his symbol during the warring era of Japan.

July 8th 2022 at Camden Yards Trout goes 3-5 with 3 rbi's and a stolen base and not wanting to lose the game Ohtani adds an insurance homerun at the top of the ninth capping of a 3-5 night himself. All looks fine and dandy for the Angles in the bottom of the 9th as closer Raisel Iglesias takes the mound which then he would proceed to blow the lead, then gave up a walk off single to 2021 comeback player of the year Trey Mancini. The Angels that day had 4 runs on 12 hits and no errors while the O's score 5 runs on 10 hits and 1 error.

Meh, Tungsten "Arm" O'Doyle was pretty solid with the '21 Groomsmen, but I feel like his incredible run with the 1919-1920 Schenectady Fishmongers, after his return from serving with the Lost Battalion on the Western Front, is criminally overlooked.

The fact that we can' t put together a competent squad of pitching for TWO generational players and two top five players in the league is insane. IMO the offense is there. Jared Walsh is solid. Taylor Ward has hit well this year. Unfortunately, Rendon is hurt and out for the season, but our lineup can be feared. Doesn't matter with pitching.

Most people think "Tungsten Arm" O'Doyle was called that on account of his given name being Wolfram, but it actually comes from an incident during the 1918 playoffs. Facing the last place Fulton Rosebuds, temperatures on the field briefly reached 6191.6ºF and O'Doyle's pitching arm turned to liquid. He was replaced by a young Orville "Steamboat" Chalmers in the 4th, but the Groomsmen failed to rally and went on to lose 8-3.

It's not a "Tungsten Arm" game, but if you want a crazy Angels game to do a video about, you have to look at 6/23/2021 against the Giants. Just a few highlights from among the befuddling array of weirdness in that one:
    - It was the first (and now only) game in the single-league-DH era where an NL team used a DH while an AL team did not.
    - Because of this, the Angels ran out of position players, and had to bring in an outfielder to catch after Kurt Suzuki was injured by a foul ball, and bring in a pitcher to play left field.
    - The Angels thought they'd walked it off in the 12th inning (complete with celebratory fireworks, "Angels Win!" on the big board, announcements of a final score), but the "safe" call at the plate was overturned on review.
    - After scoring 2 runs combined in the first 12 innings, the Giants rallied for 7 runs in the 13th - the first two of which scored without a hit or an error. The rally concluded with Mike Tauchman getting within one strike of becoming the first Giant ever to strike out 6 times in a game...before launching a 3-run home run on the next pitch. The Giants went on to win 9-3.

It's almost like when you pay two players 1/3rd of your entire club's revenue, there's no way you can field a well rounded team. If Ohtani goes somewhere else, it will be the exact same problem because he's going to get $50 schmill no question and be a similar cash sink to Trout, Harper, etc. Barring him going to the Yankees (0% chance, they're top of the majors and have a rock solid team chemistry already) or Red Sox (possible, but still very unlikely, I don't think they'll be making any blockbuster moves after this season), there's not many markets big enough to have the ability to blow a huge chunk of their payroll on one player and still field a contending team.
