What happened to that Gneisenau at 8:37 is something a lot of people forget when remmbering this cv mode. Nowadays one initial drop may get you a dd kill.
Things is though in those days, shooting down planes was impactful and possible. To avoid that from happening you had to stick with your teammates, the cruisers especially. It makes complete sense that a lone bb would get nuked by a carrier should the carrier attack it.
Hey Fara, I miss RTS CV's, and was sad to see them and you go, i think the new CV style just doesnt do Carriers justice, and considering how all the CV rework has done i created a WOWS community that has a passionate hatred for CV's, i think that it would have just been better at this point to have left the old RTS CV's in the game, because while they could be utterly dominant when played by a very good carrier player such as yourself, such people where few and far between and i think it would have been a much lesser evil than having most of the WOWs community actively championing the removal of the class from the game All together
brings back memories , i was crap in cvs but trying to learn , cant be arsed with these new ones really wished they had just balanced these . i wonder how many people just play cv or cv main compared to the rts days as new people should of been what they were after not just the same people lowering the amount the play a different class to play cvs aswell . anyway great to see the master at work :)
farazelleth Thanks for the info! I don’t usually watch twitch due to my free hours not matching with any streamer I care to watch, as well as their length. Do you know why WG hasn’t updated the China server for the rework (I hope they don’t so I may use the RTS CVs again)?
@@NucleAri WG operating wows by himself in other states,the money the player spends will be paid to wg ,whether it's WGC or Steam. But wows is operated on behalf of another company in China, WG earn less money than other states.WG wants chinese company to pay him more and chinese company refused,so the China sever stays in 073 for two years（before 31.08.2020）.Now,China sever has changed the agency,and updated 0.9.0, so you can't use RTS CVs any longer.
While the fundamental mechanics of RTS were not the problem, only very few ppl liked playing that and that was a problem to WG as they wanted more ppl playing the class.
This ultra defensive cv gameplay made me play alot less.. With exit strafes if my team was losing I could not carry.. The enemy cv could spend 10 minutes not attacking any ship cause hes team was winning anyway. The moment I locked hes fighters and went into a bombing run he would strafe the sht out my fighters.. You cant bomb and manage fighters at the same time so the whole exit strafe rewarded the extra defensive players.. They ofcourse also brought DM and Gearing as always so there was AA everywhere.. The old days of locking fighters were alot more fun and didnt have to deal with the laggy UI cause I got strafed backwards way to much.. Fighters going right and suddenly strafe left is unavoidable
you werent supposed to enjoy being attacked by a cv. i dont enjoy being attack by a destroyer. question is what you gonna do about it? oh nvm they made it stupid.

I miss these days, as broken as they were, being a CVcum was fun back then, and there was reward for learning every in and out of how to rts cv

Most? You do realize the CB CV boycott failed right? that over half the high and mighties still went and did CB right?

because deleting a ship in one strike isn't okay
RTS CVs might have been OP but buffed AA was also OP so this was the balance.

In the new mode you don’t play as a CV commander, you play as a squadron leader. Which is wrong if i wanted to play planes i would play WR.
having farazelleth banished to the ASIA server is one of the few good things that has come with the rework
Its worse, communist Chinese servers have reset not Sea. To fsir I dont even play the same so you are all safe

If they just removed not spotting torps with planes would already be a huge step forward.. But I hate cvs alot more now!!
