Named our 1 month old son after Roan Mountain. My wife's favorite mountain

Do you suggest bringing a firearm for overnight stay?

Up to your personal preference, sometimes I carry and sometimes we don't. We always carry bear spray though.

Great video! Wonder about food management and wildlife. No trees on the balds to hang. What did you do with your food overnight?

Thank you, we almost always use a bear canister now for places like this.

Great video! I’m planning on doing this section when it cools down a little. How many water sources from the turn off from Grassy Ridge to Little Hump? Also, are there several campsites going up Little Hump?
    Thanks!

Thank you! There were a few trickles between Grassy Ridge and Little Hump. There is a good water source at the Yellow Mountain shelter I believe. Didn't see any good campsites that would be protected from the wind until you are between Little Hump and Big Hump with a good water source.

How many total hiking hours did it take you?

Eleven hours of just hiking. It could definitely be done in a day if you wanted to and started early.
