You have the most amazing timing to experience the Roan Highlands at its winter wonder magic best❣️Unbelievable blessing❣️AND you got to top it off at the Smokey Mountain Bakery for some great eats❣️ What a day❤️😎🙂
Hawk I love all your videos but I have to say this is on the top of the list. Thankyou. I hope you had your long pants on. I had to put my sweatshirt on just watching the video. Be safe and enjoy your time with Katie and PR . Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
12:45 "This is absolutely stunning!" Yes it is! And I, for one, am grateful that you are sharing it with us! 👍 That was stunningly beautiful to say the least. The only thing I was missing was feeling that cold, clear, mountain air that burns your lungs when you inhale. It would be even cooler to be the one who broke tracks in that. Seeing the smile on your face said it all. Thanks for a great early Christmas present! To me, this means Christmas even more than all the crap that people think they need to spend money on and all of the other carrying ons they engage in. This is truly a "gift" for the soul! Thanks for taking us along and sharing the magic of such a special day. Take care, safe travels, and God bless! 👍👊🏼🇺🇸
Beautiful! Thanks to all the other hikers for ducking under the limbs, to maintain the beauty and not knock the snow off of the limbs. Thanks to you, for knowing how to take a good video with slow, gentle panning.
Looks amazing! Love the ice formation on the trees. If you're still planning on hitting up Franconia Ridge on your way up north bring snowshoes and spikes. We just got over 30" snow in most parts of the state.
Dang, Hawk...what a winter wonderland for sure. Unbelievable views. It looks so much different after a winter storm and so beautiful. Thanks for taking us all along. Loved watching ev ery second.
It reminds me of that fake snow they put on an artificial Christmas tree ha ha. Amazing! If I only ever get to go to a few places on the AT That be one of them. Have a good one!
Definitely a special section of trail. Glad you caught it and shared it too. Thank you. Been really enjoying living vicariously through videos since I haven't been able to get out there this year.
Hawk, looks like my back yard. Here in western Pennsylvania we got 16" of snow. Do what you do and well follow you. Stay safe. Have a Great Holiday with PR, Katie. God bless
HAWK gets us some Winter Wonderland views just in time for Christmas. . . .once again inverted clouds and frost make for stunning views. . .and we have Today’s HAWKISM @6:05, “This is too beautiful not to enjoy it. . .(HAWK Chuckle). . .This is something else.”
When I let you know that big snow was coming to deal with on your drive north I was thinking all negative aspects. Of course you found the positive! How beautiful...again. With my trail name POZ, I should have known better.
Absolutely stunning! Reminds me of the decorations our old Sears store would put up on the path to see the "real" Santa. They went all out, and it's a magical memory after sixty plus years. Thanks for sharing the magic.
Hawk, just had to revisit this video, the views are outstanding, rime ice down south, AMAZING. At the 27:56 minute mark there is a view the mountains in the background and a coated pine tree at the right corner, it would make a beautiful Christmas Card photo. Is there anyway I can get a still of the picture? I tried, but it looks like RUclips does not give the option to do it. Safe travels to Maine and Merry Christmas, Stairmaster, York, Maine.
We still have some choices even in a pandemic world. We can wake up and watch the latest disturbing news, fake happiness to get you to spend money...or we can watch AMAZING BEAUTIFUL VIEWS made with real joy and shared freely. I choose my mornings watching your videos and today was “awesome” as you say. I’m happy for you to get such beauty in your world, and more that you appreciate such a gift. Thank you 🥰
simply MAGNIFICENT!!! What kind of camera did you use? With that beauty...it would probably be beautiful with an instamatic! Thanks so much for sharing. Your enthusiasm is totally understandable...i would have been the same!!
grew up not far from there -- we trekked up there quite a bit in the winter - many days like this and the bonus was no trunk-slammers were around, just us locals
My goodness, look at you Hawk, It's so pristine, like the song says, you're 🎵walking in a winter wonderland🎹🎶 ⛄ A great panorama view you have given us today, Thank you man! 🙂
A man for all seasons I love living in New England just for the different seasons and what they bring Great video as always Do you have spikes to recommend for the ice Bc
Great video thanks for taking us along. Your mountains above the clouds at 22:35 is the Black Mountains and the Black Mountain Crest Trail along that summit should interest you. 12 miles more or less with 4000 ft up and 3000 down and you bag 10 peaks above 6000 ft. from Mount Mitchell to Bowlens Creek. tehcc.org/wiki/Black_Mountain_Crest_Trail
Yeah that's a beautiful area for sure and I can't wait to get back there. 👊🏼 Good suggestion, I'm sure Hawk would enjoy that trail immensely. I'm sitting here with that map in hand as we speak.
Hey Hawk! What kind of van do you drive now? I drive a Dodge Caravan and it has been a workhorse getting me in and out of all my adventures 💪🏻 I love your videos! Especially the FHT.
