    Instead of getting new plants to fill out the empty space on the wall, get small shelves and hanging planters to lift your existing plants up to head hight. The reason it looks off is because all the small plants are cluttered together on the floor, meaning there's no visual dynamic in terms of X, Y and Z axes, or size of the plants, so it all ends up melting together into one. In other words; it's actually not the Monstera that takes up too much space, the Monstera just revels how little space your other plants have between them. This is also why it looks a lot better when you're sitting on the floor, as you can then see the wall behind the plants. What you really should aim for is making your plants look good while you're sitting in a chair.

    The editing was really cute in this video! The text, the effects and sounds, loved it! And your new hair cut is fabulous!
    The monstera needs its own soltech and spot. She’s the grand dame and would be just regal on her tripod stand and lighting.
    If you don’t have a space for her to shine singularly, I offer that she goes back outside and rules her back yard kingdom as before. 👸🏼 🪴

      @ErikaLodes  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much!
      Yes she might have to go back to her outdoor kingdom w her king 👑 I think ur right about her needing her own light

    • @EVTD79
      @EVTD79 2 года назад +1

      I too agree. The monstera is very beautiful but I think she is taking up a lot of space and that maybe what's making things seem off.
      If she were moved to the corner she should really be by herself. I think that she would only provide shade or even block the light of the surrounding plants.

    I would personally put the monstera in the corner. It would showcase the plant and you could put the little ones around the base(light permitting) kind of showcasing them as well. That's just my take on it anyway. Love the corner though, very nice. ❤

    "Omg I'm a freaking carpenter at this point" LOL LAUGHED TOO HARD.
    I think the monstera should stay outside if it's been doing good so far. It gives opportunities for new or existing plants to grow. I would definitely recommend using the walls i.e. shelves or those planter hangers that make your plants look like they're floating where you can't see the hanger around the pot. I've been wanting that growlight but I got the sunblaster cause I need a LONG light asap!

    Monstera in the corner on the floor with some shelves for the other plants higher and the lower light plants surrounding the monstera. Just an idea. You could swap the lights in the cabinets so warm on one side with the hanging lamp and cool on the other. Lot of work but well worth it if it bothers you.

    the monstera 100 percent isn’t going to be getting enough light. Id move it back outside. Soltech lights are only like 40 watts right? I have my massive monstera that reminds me of yours under a 1,000 watt grow light and use a light meter to find out how many foot candles it’s getting. with a 1000 watt grow light2.5 feet from it, it gets around 700 foot candles which is pretty good light. He is going to suffer where you have him.

    Hello:) Is the shelf with the cool toned light a Vitsjo from Ikea? I have 2 of the smaller sized Viitsjo shelves, and mine seem like the space in between the shelves is SO much smaller than yours!! A lot of my plants are philodendron and so the smaller space I have available for them is really inconvenient. I really love the look of the white metal and glass shelving next to my white Milsbo tall cabinets, but I really do wish I went with something with more room! I would definitely be interested in buying the taller versions if that is what you have and if it’s not just an optical illusion on camera that the larger/taller units have greater distance between the shelves. Ok. After that rant, I’m heading to watch the rest of your video. Your soltech solutions light looks adorable!! Thanks for sharing.
