If you are concerned about the outlets in the middle of the wall, you can get outlet plate covers (they are like $3) and "close the hole" with them. It'll keep water from going near wires, and if you eventually need to use the outlet again, you can put the outlet plates back on. I suggest doing the outlet covers even if you are hanging something in front of them.
To add to this comment I found a tutorial for you. OR hang a canvas print over the top to hide them that way 😉. I had a hideous wall A/C unit in one of our houses. I went to Michael’s and got the perfect size and had my son paint on it… it is now one of my favorite possessions 😍 m.ruclips.net/video/ygxrRAp5U80/видео.html&pp=ygUaSG93IHRvIGhpZGUgY29heGlhbCBvdXRsZXQ%3D
Yes, you can also paint the cover the same color as the wall, and it'll blend right in. I did this in my bathroom when I had to redo an entire wall that had outlets. If you change your mind later and need the outlets, they're right there for you. No electrician, and you can use the money for more plants.
I am so happy for you Fern! You went from living in a small space with hardly any natural light to now owning a big beautiful house with your partner with all the natural sun and beautiful decks/patios! So happy to see your hard work paying off! Your yard and house are so pretty!
A vintage Chaise Lounge chair would complement the corner well!! That is if they are in your budget & I don’t know if they are common in the US as here in England
I just love watching you thrive in your own space!! That Brooklinen set is SO good! My suggestion for your bedside corner would be a hanging plug in light from the ceiling (you can use a command hook cause its light 😏) and then either a smart plug with a grow bulb, or a smart LED light bulb so you can change color for the mood/comes with a remote and still gives the plant a little bit of light! I've done a few and just use sansi bulbs in them!
Love the new plant setup. For the Wally Grow planters consider using the white grow light and clipping in to the corner of your curtain road where you can still open and close the curtains. For the plant on your bf side of the bed, If he has not vetoed it already. Put the basket closer to the bed and plant more towards the window so that you minimize the amount of times he touches the plant. Likely to be able to remain there if it does not touch or bother him. ❤
Those trailing plants have grown so much,I still remember when you planted them in. The room looks so good, If you want the plants to grow in front of the window, just turn them around every now and again and they will face you. It’s great to have a plant styling video as well as plant care,I lack styling creativity… 💚🌱🌿 Natalie
Sometimes when our plans don’t work out they work out better than we planned!! It is hard to not fall into wanting symmetry, it naturally seems best in our mind but actually the staggered look gives a more homey cozy vibe. I would finish it off by hanging a picture over the top of those outlets! No one will ever know they are there! Looks great!! Hope you enjoy your new cozy space!!
Absolutely! Thank you so much, I really appreciate this. Definitely need to put a picture up there! And decorate the rest of the wall/walls. I can’t wait to see it come together even more - thank you for watching! x
@@wildfern when you hang something over it make a frame to keep some distance from the wall, and leave the top open so you can use the outlet if need be but it's all hidden except the cord that would need to come out. Idk if that description makes sense lol
@@wildfern and asymmetry goes with the organic nature of plants! It’s so difficult to balance wanting plants to look aesthetic with having them actually thrive, but I think you do a great job. I hope you enjoy your cozy, creative space :)
This video is so damn relatable. I’m constantly figuring out grow lights, having temporary set ups, and having a future vision. Also turned out so cute! It’s giving ultra cozy plant vibes
Hi Fern. Great makeover video. Loved the bedding your chose and so did Olive, I see 💗🐕💗Big hugs for her!!!! The plant arrangement looks awesome. I think a colourful tapestry rug would look nice hung on the wall, above the bed.
Some art I think would really help bring things together, wooden frames would work well with all the other elements in the space, perhaps a small side table for the reading nook too. Looking forward to seeing the end result :)
NO WAY, my mind is blown by how you put the sheets over your comforter, what the hell ive been doing it wrong for 34 years 🤣🤣🤣 imma have to watch it again to learn that technique 👌👌👌
Hi Fern. If you can't disguise the cords from the grow lights to the outlet, maybe you could coil a row of fairy lights along the cords. That would add a nice cosy vibe, especially at night. Love your new house Fern! Xx
It looks so tranquil with the blue tones and the plants 😊 Loving it! Maybe a couple of pictures to help tie it together? I’d definitely have a hard time wanting to leave the bedroom in the morning if mine was that cozy looking 💖
Scindapsis idea, hell yes! I don’t know how you feel about the maximalist aesthetic, but I love it. (Just for the design, not for the lifestyle. I don’t got the money or need to be a full-time maximalist) If you feel weird about there being awkward blank spots, my trick is to get a cute trinket or something from Target and hang it on the wall and BOOM blank spot fixed. I got hanging wood box shelves from Amazon and plunked one of my dad’s old steel Ford toy and it’s one of my favorite easy design ideas.
i am the same with the fan. Even though its getting chilly i still want to turn on the fan haha. And I am loving your space! Your side of the bed is so nice to look at
You could get a ceiling fan for your bedroom. We did that with our 2 bedrooms that didn’t already have them and they are LIFE CHANGING. It was only like $400-500 for the fans and install I think in the PNW. Putting plants next to the baseboard heaters will also make them unhappy during the winter if you plan to use it.
Oh the timing of this is elite, I’m currently redoing my bedroom as we have a roommate moving in so we needed to condense our stuff and this is the inspo I needed!
Also on that outlet, did you consider getting outlet covers and then maybe putting a painting or something over it? I hate visible cords and outlets like that and I’ve really learned specific painting placement lol
Maybe you can cover the outlet with some pictures. Gallery wall? And I love the idea of the track lights near the wally grow planters! I was also thinking that a standing lamp might make your reading area feel even cozier! I'm excited to see what you do next!!
I love your tbr cart!! ♥️♥️♥️ …oh oh oh if you still needed an idea for the second shelf, maybe your nail polish & nail polish accessories? With little bamboo boxes for organizing…
I installed a highland track light system in my bedroom to solve that "looking at the backs of the plants" issue. It was Hella expensive but the best plant light purchase i have ever made. If you do that route I am sure it will make those walligrow planters grow amazingly
I’m right there with you on the fan front. Even in the winter when it’s cold in my apartment I still turn on the fan but just face it away from me lol I need the noise 😂
A suggestion make room more cozy maybe few throw pillows on bed and a blanket across bottom of bed and some art work on walls . I really love what you have done so far
Love the Wally’s! Your plant are very lush!! I was thinking that your wall propagation vessels could look cute under the Wally’s to the right of the micans. Or even on wall that the bed is against. Btw, so great to see Greta! She is happy as pie! Can’t wait for her to just take over again like before!
16:23 oh my GOD I thought when you said earlier in the video that you just have a random chair there and will get another one I thought you talk about the metal small stool you used to mount the wally grows😂😂 I was like well I mean it kinda is a chair yes hahaha
That begonia looks awesome in that corner. You should ( imo) elevate it more and it would hide your electrical box, just a thought. Move your book cart in front? Just an idea. I always look for ways to tier my plants ❤
I mentioned in a past video, but I would love a fall terracota painting video with cute fall colors or designs like leaf designs maybe? 🍂🎃 love the videos and olive 💗
I LOVE watching these style videos! It’s so fun to watch you set up your home. Always feels so good to get your space the way you want it! Looks SO GOOD!
Hi Fern! I would do the outlet covers as mentioned but I’d be worried about water still. It would be less of a problem but I’d still be worried. The covers would make it more flat and then you could place a picture or mirror over it. Just a suggestion to help. 😊 Love your videos and planty goodness!
I’m surprised you didn’t wrap a couple vines around the cord to the clamp light! I love to take a couple vines from my hanging plants and send them up over a curtain or anything around them to get a different dimension out of them!
Fern, What about a grow light on your side of bed that comes up from floor, under leaves of begonia? Enjoyed sitting in your reading chair like friends reorganizing your bedroom.
So I do have a suggestion, the desk that you don’t know what to put on there, I think you should put one of the pretty Calathea’s on that desk. Just by itself, it would make such so much of a statement. In my opinion. ❤❤❤ your videos
I am so in love with your hanging plant arrangement, it looks so pretty and I am hoping you won’t mind if I recreate it. I think it would be so beautiful around my headboard with a mirror in the middle it just frames the space perfectly 🤩 I’m envisioning a super high wing back type chair for that space in a lovely deep green or mustard color I think it would totally vibe with your new bedding. I wouldn’t hate it if it was velvet for that cozy touch. 📚
Caution with the track lights. They are meant for whole walls and can bleach the plants very easily 🥴 I use soltech highland lights and have had to back my plants up a bit. Could also have the track light farther back on the ceiling
I love how it’s coming together! Could you put a grow light bulb in the tall gold floor lamp and put plants under it? I have glow light bulbs in a few of my lamps for my plants. 😊

Put a shelf right above the outlets. That way you can use the plugs, set a grow light, and use a trailing plant to disguise the outlets.

I came here to say this and add....you can put a tapestry or art over it after you put the solid plate on it
Great changes,like it !

OLIVE'S SPED UP FOOTSTEPS ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER 🥺
RIGHT HAHA I was dying when I was editing. So cute 🥹😭
Wow the way you put on the duvet literally changed my life

I've done a few and just use sansi bulbs in them!
I love the little update after sleeping in the bedding. They do have the best sheets.
Beautiful! Definitely better with the plants away from the sliding glass door. It feels visually more spacious and less cluttered. Perfect! Well done.

So happy to see your cute cozy house becoming yours 💗✨🙏
yaaaaaas I love it when you combine your planty videos with interior design/decor 😍💚 so happy to watch
What a beautiful video!
I really love the open open space before the window!
Makes my day when I see a WF notification 🥰
🥺🥺🥺💚
Oh Fern everybody looks so pretty it's so good and cozy love the colors of the sheets. The house is becoming your HOME IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU HONEY❤
The plant encircling the mirror is really cute.
Fern, I really like the way you arranged your room. The plants look great .
I'm in middle of the video, but I need to say how wonderful already the plants look on the wall!!! The scindapsus is so lush omg!!!
Ahhh thank you so much 😊
I like the way u did the Walligrow pots & the room looks much more relaxing, in my eyes anyway.
Love ur channel, great job❣🤎
🍃goodness not to mention how stunning your wally grow planters look and how they look hung up, iz magical 💚💚💚
Your wall looks great with all the Wally grow planters on it.
I love how you styled your plants. So lovely and calming.
NO WAY, my mind is blown by how you put the sheets over your comforter, what the hell ive been doing it wrong for 34 years 🤣🤣🤣 imma have to watch it again to learn that technique 👌👌👌
The area is definitely looking so nice and cozy!! Cant wait to see it when its all finished!

🍃🍂✨love cozy cabin & cottage vibes 🍃🍂🍃
I had a feeling you would definitely make over the room when you said his side was boring 🌱💚💚
Omg the variegation on that maranta 31:06 ♥️😍😍😍😍😍😍
Oh the timing of this is elite, I’m currently redoing my bedroom as we have a roommate moving in so we needed to condense our stuff and this is the inspo I needed!
Perfectttt 👌

It looks great! I like the window clear. Outside looks nice🎉
Plants, decor , & fern!
3 of my favourite things 🥰
Love a cozy planty video
Ahh you’re an angel - thank you!
I would add two more planters on the left. Don't worry about the oulet. Plus you would hide the grow light cord.
Move both curtain panels to one side so plants on wall get natural light...
Its such a love/hate with the clamp lamps. 😂 love all the content, thanks Fern!
I absolutely love the new setup. I am so happy for you!!

You could also add a jute rug to the room under part of bed.
@wildfern you could move your gloriosum behind the begonia..it would give the space some height and also some interest..Love the draping green wall❤
I love love the Wally grow area. I so love plant walls!
I think the 3rd planter would look sweet on the left staggered down like the rest
I live in Washington State and totally relate to the grow lights just being everywhere 😂 PNW plant parents know the feeling ✊🌿
Love your Japanese lantern plant. They really look like fall.
I’m right there with you on the fan front. Even in the winter when it’s cold in my apartment I still turn on the fan but just face it away from me lol I need the noise 😂

Hi Fern 💫 It looks so beautiful and cozy!!! You did an amazing job and I can’t wait to see more. Enjoy the rest of your week. 🙏🏻💫
Gonna need a video on putting a duvet on a comforter. Thanks in advance😂🤭
I love the wally corner 😍

Thanks for the tour Fern...it's all looking really cosy and nice 👌🏼🫶
Love love love the plant wall!
Your bedroom looks SO CUTE 🥰 I can’t wait to see the chair you get for the little Wally grow nook 🙌🏻

You should look into a papasan chair for that corner under your wallygro!!!
I'm so lovin your Thurstonii. I've been looking for one to buy!
❤❤ and I need them asap thanks for sharing beautiful vibe
Woohooo another long vid! 🙌🏼💚
Such a cozy video 😍😍👌🏽

Maybe you could put floating shelves over the nightstands?? That might make another space but still allow for light. It looks great!

I love your planty wall
Yesss this is my favorite type of content from you!!! The room is looking so good 💕
Love the new look
Give the micans a little trim to help it fill out and take the spindle look away
Also you could hang a shelf right below the outlet and put a framed picture on it to cover the outlet
The cozy content I needed! 🤍🤎
🥹🥰🥰
Need this 🥰 so peaceful yet motivating
Enjoy 🥰🥰
I love your new setup! Breathe it in!❤
Room is looking good! So cute 😊
Put a grow light over head over your thurstonii. It won’t be leaning towards the door.
