For my own long-term test of the MJX, i ran mine every day within the 30 day return window. The rear diff broke on two different trucks within 3 weeks. And that's not jumping or anything. They don't offer steel diffs so i returned and bought a Granite BLX with steel diff upgrades. Cost a whole lot more, but no throttle delay either. The aftermarket support was not great.
I see they make upgrades for the stock diff and input gear. I will try that as I break the input gear with 3S every 2 packs, and the diffs break easily. The wltoys are fast and accurate to drive but don't bash them as they will break into pieces (not just a little bit less durable). If they solved the gear issues It is a perfect car for bashing, not so for accurate driving / racing.

hi - i just bought this from aliexpress. Question for you - the drive train and gear box are very noisy and loose. It appears to have quite a bit of slack in the gear box, so if you hold tree wheels in place and the turn the remaining wheel it moves and makes a few clicks like skipping a few teeth before the wheel locks into the transmission, just so very loose and very clicky drive train. Is this normal on this particular model?
The diffs were a bit rough on mine as well, but I didn't get any skipping teeth out of the box 🤔 maybe contact AliExpress on it, they might give you a partial refund for it
Got mine today. Same thing... crazy noises when turning the wheels, skipping teeth when turning the wheels slow and even hearable when shaking the car a bit. I am not experienced, but I think this noises aren't normal. maybe it's on the upgraded version. If anybody has a solution if this is repairable or maybe it's normal, please answer.I am a bit worried
@@user-lf8pd2ld2u are the teeth actually skipping or does it just sound and feel rough? If they're skipping something's off, if it's just rough then that's just down to the poor quality of there cheap cars
Took it apart completely. Seems to be fine! The differential was well greased, the spurgears a little less, but OK too. The rattling occurs when the Motor is in the drive chain. The skipping off teeth just sounds like skipping, but it is not. when you only turn the Motor Spurgear by hand you can feel the "skipping". I am no Motor expert, but I believe it's coming from the strong Magnets inside. so it jumps 12 times whe turned 1 round. Makes sense. This Jumping is transfered over the all metaldrivetrain (Rods, ballbearings etc) and the Body Plate works like a loudspeaker. So I really think this is normal and mostly because of tolerances in the Plastic body or Ball bearings. The Spur Gear, I can safely tell, grip very well into each other. Don't worry! 😊

@@ValRC1 I fixed it my friend, my throttle trim was stuck and was causing the red light of death, it has a safety feature where if there’s any throttle trim on start up to cause it from not automatically driving it away because of the trim setting it cuts out power, I had to put throttle trim back to 0 it was stuck on the middle setting
@@ValRC1 Yeah, it's pretty crazy like that. It will flip backwards on throttle, flip forwards on brake and turn over on corners. Unless you do it really carefully. @@scappellos someone in the reviews of the hobbywing esc actually tested it in a Hbx 16889a and it worked great for them. And yeah the throttle delay is still there with upgraded transmitter on the mjx esc, just less..it's a bit weird but drivable
thanks for your honesty.
like & sub.
No problem, to me, there's really no point in lying in these reviews! Thanks for watching
I had the same issues broke front and rear😢
Oof that sucks, hope you can sort it out. Thanks for watching!
I got the brushed version and it's amazing realy lol fast enuff it's got a 380 motor not a 370 like most of this type
@@rhealgagnon1460 nice, glad you like yours!
I think the brushless version is too powerful for the car's drivetrain, brushed should be fine
@@ValRC1 if you play only 2s lipo, will the front and rear diffs brake?
I'd imagine it could be fine, but to me the truck was a bit boring on 2s
love your voice im a big fan
Lol thank you x3
hi - i just bought this from aliexpress.
Has one advantage, i took it appart completely. Now I know how this thing works inside at least! :-)
Can you link me a battery to use with this car? The stock battery is too small
I agree the stock battery sucks, only thing is if you use another one most of the time you have to take off the stock battery mount and mount the battery some other way - I did it with Velcro tape. As for the link, what country are you in?
@@ValRC1 the US and I want to keep it 2s
@@longboardluv2 I'm not sure how big the battery tray is because I don't have the car anymore, but maybe these could fit? chinahobbyline.com/collections/us-warehouse-products/products/cnhl-black-series-1500mah-7-4v-2s-100c-lipo-battery-with-t-plug?_pos=13&_fid=ddc7f2897&_ss=c measurements are in the description
I have both a 16207 and a 14210, and on both the cars are cutting out if I go full throttle and into a skid??? Anybody got any ideas? Just purchased 2 new ones, hope it is the Esc.
oh wow that's really weird, I've never had or heard of that issue. Might be related to the ESC or/and Transmitter. Hope you get it figured out!
@@ValRC1 yeah very weird, removed all ESC wires and changed this morning, let's see if that works.
My center peice broke on my diff so I had to replace it
The center piece broke on mine as well when it split apart, it broke some other things with it tho so I just replaced the whole diff
Nice review
Thanks man!! Hey I can't find you on discord anymore and I don't remember your whole name, mind sending me a dm? Username is "valenin"
Is it to difficult to handle for a 10 years old?
On 2s it should be fine, they can just start with the throttle limit switch set to 50% to get used to it first. I started driving rcs around that age and it worked out well
No, my 6 year old son has this and loves it. Took a bit of practice but handles it really well, especially on 70% power. Really hardy RC car as well as his has been launched of all sorts of stuff and still hasn't needed anything replaced yet.
Not sure what it’s doing this for but bassically when I accelerate the power cuts off and I can’t accelerate but I can still turn the wheels I’m not sure what is going on
Damn, that sounds like something in your electronics is either broken or loose. My guess is something's up with the ESC, tho that can't be said for sure
@@CoreyCTX ohhh I see, nice glad it was just that!
Mond had extra axels and a diff...for 129.99
Damn, that's more than the car costs 😅
Do you have any idea what gear pitch mjx uses?
Nope, no Idea, sorry
The radio and reciever it came with is good..the esc is the lagging issue...its either defective or not a good match for the motor...
Or maybe you did get a defective tx and rx with it.
I found both to be pretty laggy
OK thanks bro saved me wasting time and money 💰
Glad I did man!
On a 60C 3S battery this thing can hit 72km/h.
Noice, tho that's too much for this truck imo with how the handling and braking is
@@ValRC1 Yeah, it's pretty crazy like that. It will flip backwards on throttle, flip forwards on brake and turn over on corners. Unless you do it really carefully. You could lower the shocks with plastic tubes though, lowering the centre of gravity. Then it's a good speeder, but also less efficient on grass and jumps. 3s is fun though.
@@janklaassen6404 how did you lower the shocks with plastic tubes?
@@ValRC1 You put a tiny tube inside them which keeps them from extending fully. You can use heatshrinkwrap as well. Here's a tutorial: ruclips.net/video/hkZRRNSsBMo/видео.html
@@janklaassen6404 ahh I see, so basically just decrease the travel in the shocks? Thanks!!
Hobbywing 16bl30 esc in hbx 16889 pro👌🏻
Yeah the 16bl30 is a great ESC :)
If you jump and land on full power you will break the diffs
I didn't do that though, they just got worn out over time
bro ok didnt need to hear this but other i quote "stupid YT channels" prb have more exsperince than you also its only cheap its not a x_max ok?
Maybe, but having lot of subscribers doesn't always equal experience. I apologize if I said that in the video, of course none of the RUclips channels reviewing things purely for the money or to get another free car are "stupid".
What do you think of the mjx buggy version ?
I haven't tried it, but the components are all pretty similar to this one
