The “sap”/honeydew being secreted from your Hoya Macrophylla is called ‘Guttation’. Hoyas in particular are prone to doing this but many other kinds of plants do it as well. (My Philo Florida Green does this constantly and I even found an ant that got in my house clinging to the petiole and feeding on the sap once) and that’s actually precisely why the plants do it is to feed insects oddly enough. It’s a type of symbiotic relationship between the plants and a whole host of predatory insects such as ants and predatory wasps. The plants release the sweet sap as food for these insects and to attract them and keep them around the plant because they will also kill and eat any pest insects that would potentially damage or kill the plant. Pretty cool in my opinion although the stickiness is quite annoying when repotting, cleaning the plants leaves, etc. 🪴🍬🐜 hope this helps ☺️
Your lacunosa is definitely 'royal flush' 😍😍😍 royal flush has purple stems and purple/dark new growth! Snow caps stems are green but can sunstress to a reddish color (as well as the new growth) but they aren't that dark purple color like royal flush is! My royal flush and snow cap lacunosa are probably my two most prized hoyas! Your royal flush is stunning!
Just started collecting hoyas and they are so addictive 😅 i currently have 8 and ordered 4 more, all in the span of 6 weeks or so. Your collection is goals!
I have seen videos on peoples’ Hoya collection but I haven’t seen none this big, BIG BASKET OF HOYAS, this was such a dream to watch. Gorgeous Collection!
Quite the collection 😍. Don't think I could pick a favorite. Honestly, all your plants are amazing. Will be searching out more of your previous care videos.
What an amazing collection of Hoyas! I can’t believe how huge your plants are. I have about eight Hoyas. They are definitely my favorite. Great video thank you for sharing
Such a beautiful collection. Im gonna get a 2nd sunrise so that i can hav a green and red version. Your matilde its telling me to get one. You can consider getting the wayetti, its beautiful.
Beautiful collection.. the 1st one you showed I on the top of my wish list, I can't say the name either but I want it!! Also LOVE the variegated compacta 😍
I watched it from beginning to the end. It is just a stunning collection of Hoyas. May I ask you what’s the humidity you maintain as I can see your humidifier puffing hard in the background. Also, while it is a real pleasure to look at gorgeous plant of yours would be good to hear about the care you give your Hoyas 🇦🇺
I'm a little bit late to the party but that is Hoya lacunosai Royal flush which has a lot of splash and dark leaves. Not sure about snow caps which Is not readily available at least in my area.
I love your Hoyas😯🙌💖The obovata is huge and the lacunosa is a favourite of mine. I have obovata that has the same flowers and fragrant. I see you have bella. After flowering they discard the peduncles. I have many bellas. Yeah, maybe the carnosa Queen and Princess will take time to get any peduncles. I am with you on mathilde. I adore my mathilde too😁🙏💞Thanks for the tour! I enjoyed it
The little clear droplets you see on stems are called floral/flora nectarines. It is harmless, it’s very common especially in the philodendron family. Sometimes you will even see it on the foliage. 💛💚🧡
You’re correct you can figure it out by touching it. If it’s sticky then it’s nectarines. There is a chance it could be guttation but that’s usually on the leaves themselves and that’s your plants way of sweating out excess water. Good luck your Hoyas are Beautiful.
It’s 100% sticky and dries into sugar crystals! So good to know, thank you! I thought that may be in and from what I read some thing it stimulates growth along the vine-not sure if there’s any science to that though.
@@houseplusplant There is some science behind it. Basically your plant produces the nectarines to attract ants so ants can attack the pest. This does not mean you have pests though….it’s a sign of the growing season, or your plant is going through a growth spurt. Glad I could help! Happy Growing 💛💚🧡
@@houseplusplant It's been awhile since you've talked about this. I've had them on my Hoya Macrophylla for a long time but now they are all over the blooms to the point that I never get a full flower because the sap doesn't allow the petals to fully open. Does this happen to you too? If so, is there anything you can do to prevent it?
A recent purchase Buoti, stellar flowers on a basic green leaf vine. Grows well, a positive purchase for sure. BTW my lacunosa smells like buttered theatre popcorn BONUS I smell it from other rooms in my home. Like you lacunosa is a superhero Hoya!!
Beautiful collection. Our fungii look completely different. Mine has much wider and rounder leaves. I love the how bronze new leaves on the fungii are. I'm still mad at myself for breaking a stem with it's first peduncle on it.
I just brought a cutting of the Krinkle Chelsea and I can't wait to see it grow. I'm also real mad that the Kerrii is a slow grower I only have a baby and want to see it get really big. 💕
What beautiful hoyas! You must do a video on Hoya care. I started collecting in 2017, have 50, lost about 25, so I'm slowly getting it right. Your fungii looks just like my Hoya crassipetiolata...Please share!
I loved seeing all of your Hoyas. I added some to my plant wish list like the variegated Kerri and the Lisa. I only have the Hoya krimson princess right, pretty small I got it from a cutting. I did want to know throughout the video what size you got each plant and how long ago you got it, a little care tidbit so maybe you can put that in your next video. But overalll enjoyed it! Thanks!

Thank you for this video and for sharing your beautiful Hoya collection! Very enjoyable to watch. Love Hoyas and the many varieties of Hoyas you can find. I’ve only had them for a little over two years and they’ve all been great. Take care and happy growing! 👌🥰🪴💚
I love all your Hoyas. I’ve got about ten. Right now my Hoya bella is struggling. After I moved it out of my west facing window it started losing leaves. It’s under a grow light now and it’s still losing leaves. Next I’m think of transplanting it S the soil is packed down and hard. Stays moist too. I’m just not sure what to do. Any ideas?
My two favorites and wishlist Hoyas are the Hoya Krohniana Super Silver and the Silver Dollar Hoya 😍🤤 I’m a sucker for silver leaves. Anybody know the full or scientific name for the Silver Dollar Hoya?
Where did you get such a large hoya heuschkeliana variegata? It’s gorgeous! Also, I have 2 macrophylla and they both get those syrup honey dew looking droplets! I am not sure what it is but I see someone else has said it looks just like their crassipetiolata.
