    Je suis tombé, par hasard, sur cette merveille de Maître Josquin des Prez, cette interprétation est époustouflante de talent, de justesse technique et d'émotion! Je la ferai connaître autour de moi tant j'ai été subjugué par la qualité de ce quatuor d'exception! Maître Josquin serait, à n'en pas douter, très fier que des artistes perpétuent son oeuvre 5 siècles après sa mort avec tant de grâce et de talent! Bravo et longue vie à Profeti Della Quinta!

    The Phrygian mode makes this all the more sad, especially with what sounds like what should end with an A-major chord is actually an E-minor chord approached by a half step in the soprano.

    I don't think there is a performance of this song which gets anywhere near this one, with its subtlety, honesty and lovingly cared ensemble work. Thank you a million times. I would love to have an album of yours dedicated to Josquin chansons, which I think are still waiting for an ideal album. How about it?

    Je suis tombé par hasard sur cette interprétation, après en avoir écouté de nombreuses, je peux dire qu'il s'agit de l'une, si ce n'est la meilleure interprétation que je n'ai jamais entendue de ce chant de Maître Josquin Des Près, qui aurait été fier que son œuvre soit si magnifiquement perpétrée cinq siècles après sa mort. Gilles Binchois, Johannes Ockeghem et Josquin Des Près nous ont laissé une oeuvre à nulle autre comparable et Profeti della Quita la perpétue fidèlement. Bravo et merci!

      I agree. This is why Josquin's music was called "Ars Perfecta." There is a beautiful arrangement of Mille regretz for vihuela, titled "Cancíon del Emperador," by Luis de Narváez. [Je suis d'accord. C'est pourquoi la musique de Josquin s'appelait « Ars Perfecta ».     Et d'eslonger votre fache amoureuse;

    Qu'on me verra brief mes jours deffiner.
    En français :
    J'ai mille regrets de vous avoir abandonné
    Et laissé votre visage aimant
    J'ai un si grand chagrin et une telle peine douloureuse
    Que bientôt mes jours se verront être comptés.
    In english :

    What a wonderful performance !
    All voices sound so individual yet marry themselves so well with the others, enough to make it sound as a whole ; as One sound.
    The lyrics as well spoken for the poetry of it to take its meaning
    There's color, emotion, history, Music...
    On top of that, it gives the idea of what Josquin's life would have sounded like.
    In one word : Wonderful !
