  • The 2015 Mets made the World Series off the backs of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey. For theses 3 stars the sky was limit but over the next 8 seasons, all their dreams came crumbling down.
    Featuring: Bartolo Colon, Zach Wheeler, Yoenis Cespedes, and Steven Matz.

    So sad how deGROM's career has gone. He was a very very rare talent. One of the most dominate pitchers of all time. What he was on pace to do in 2021 shouldn't be possible. He should have had another 2 Cy Youngs and be in the HOF. I feel terrible for him. Was really tough to see him break down when they announced his season was over.

      Old comment but he may still have a chance to make the hall of fame perhaps? what do you think?

    • @thinkforyourself5672
      @thinkforyourself5672 Год назад +2

      @@shinra05, If he wins another Cy Young I would say yes. If not he needs another 4 or 5 dominant seasons. And I just can't see that happening with his never ending health issues.

    • @shinra05
      @shinra05 Год назад +2

      @@thinkforyourself5672 idk about 4 or 5 i recon 3 seasons with an era under 2.50 and healthy would do it but yeah cy young would be great. we'll never know but if his 2023 start wasnt a fluke he could have be in votings this year

    • @thinkforyourself5672
      @thinkforyourself5672 Год назад +2

      @@shinra05, 3 Cy Youngs usually get you in. And if not you need a solid amount of dominate seasons. I'd say 3 minimum but that may not even be enough. Super hard to know what the voters will do. I think 4 more super solid seasons gets him in. Another 1 or 2 and I don't think he's in. It's super unfortunate. When he was on, he was the most dominate pitcher I've ever seen. What he was on pace to do in 2021 is not human.

    The nostalgia in this video is killing me. Although where are the clips with long hair deGrom? I was in my Senior Year of High School when the Mets almost won it all in 2015. I thought they had that same magic in 2019. Alonso with deGrom, Syndergaard and Matz was the missing piece but they came up short 3 games because of Edwin Diaz 🙄 I don't care what anyone says I was never a Diaz fan

    Outside of deGrom somewhat similar to Generation K, remember that bust? Who would of thought Wheeler would be the one still going strong.

    The atmosphere and chemistry in the dugout back then was also much better. The team just feels lifeless nowadays.

    Btw i live in vegas and got to see a lot of those guys on the 51's. For instance, i sat 2nd row behind the plate for Sindigards' last start in vegas. Think he got called up after his next road start.

    Matt Harvey was not treated when his value was highest. He was always destined to be a flop, because he was more concerned with fame, than developing his talent.
    Noah Syndergaard got tired of seeing the Fred coupon mats have one or two sabermetrics guys chase him down with a sheet of paper and try to convince him to throw more curveballs.
    Jacob deGrom Is the second best picture in this organization and never had the supporting staff around him necessary to let him shine 100%.

    Tommy John also won 280+ games. All three of these pitchers threw their arms out by throwing too hard. Its the ruin of many pitchers nowdays. Tommy John didn't , he threw to contact and was winning past the age of 40
