    The other thing I found with my IV lite when I put the first few mags through it the other day is that the sights were off from the factory... elevation was about 8" off at 10yrds, and drift was 3 clicks left. The first thing I did after shooting those first mags was order a fiber front sight, charging ring, and aligned the rear sights!

      @58Alpha  4 месяца назад

      Ah bummer but I'm glad the sights are figured out. You definitely got the good upgrades needed for sure.

    I have been slingshotting my slide for years. I'm really not sure what dot me started it's probably because I have 3 full size pistols and there all made by walther but when I switch to one of my 22lr the slide releases are all over the place. Thanks for the video I have a mark three but I really haven't shot it much the taurus tx22 has kind of ruined me I already sold off 2 of my 22s the taurus has ruined me for other rim fires. I bought it when they first came out and the fact that it was a real striker fired gun was the first 22 I saw that way most have the hidden hammer last time I was at the range 3 young kids where asking me if I was a sharp shooter in the service the gun was dead nuts on right out of the box and it will eat ammunition that I was gonna give away none of my 22s would go through maybe 1 or 2 rounds out of the magazine. The taurus was 250 when I got it it had a 15 round magazine's it's full size but it doesn't look like any other pistol and it's probably one of the most comfortable pistols in my hand over everything I own.

    I just installed a VQ accurizing kit in my new MK IV 22/45 Lite. I got about the same results you did: It definitely helped my groups but not profoundly. But it's a much better feel and a lot lighter than the factory trigger. It'll help my groups more as I get used to it.
    Also, you got the 22/45 Lite model that I wanted. I love the green upper and it matches my car. LGS said it's a distributor model and was somewhat harder to get. I didn't want to wait, so I got the steel gray model.

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  Год назад

      Ya i agree. Groups weren't astounding but definitely i can shoot faster and the trigger much much crisper! I got the green model on gun broker. Waited for the best deal, it was worth it. The steal greyish blue i wasn't into much though, i woulda just got black if I couldn't have gotten green or the color i wanted.

    Who makes the front site and charging ring?

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  Год назад +1

      Front sight is from Dawson Precision and the charging ring i had on there was a cheap 3D printed one off eBay. It worked well but cracked in my ultrasonic cleaner from the heat I believe. So just go ahead and get one off rugers website with the 20% off code you get from purchasing your Mark IV, the one on their website is made by Tandemkross and has the Ruger logo. You could go to Tandemkross and get the same one but it'll have the TK logo instead of that matters to you. Plus Tandemkross always has deals and discoing codes. I have now the stainless steel one from Rugers website. Shipping a little slow. Tandemkross is faster.

    Nice video but I would like to say something you should have done first. Before you did the test you should have put about 25 to 50 rounds of copper jacketed or lead round nose bullets through the barrel to season it and get some fouling in it. Then a lightly wet patch then a dry bore snake. Your groups would have tightened up before the test and would have shown the real potential of the 22/45 lite. But yes by far the Volquartsen is a great improvement for this pistol. .........................................Ken

      @@58Alphait’s unfortunate you have to deal with dumb comments like ‘your accuracy isn’t impressive’. I find those comments unnecessary and likely not something someone would say to your face. Good on you for handling them well. I thought you made a good video. It was helpful and good to see the pistol in action and the differences between stock and accurized parts. Happy shooting bro!

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  7 месяцев назад

      No worries, I mean I wasn't proud of this accuracy, but the gun was new and I was just getting familiar with it. I have gotten a lot better with it but unfortunately it was after the video was produced. Other Ruger Mark IV videos I made show much better shooting and accuracy after using the gun in competition. I was just eager to make this video and swap the parts with the new Volquartsen goodies and see what improvements I felt or noticed. The groups did get better on the second try, and that could be partly related to the Volquartsen parts along with getting more familiar with the pistol's grip, sights, etc.@@neitherheightnordepth2102

      @@58Alphai agree. if you are testing accuracy shoot from a rest at least. this way the groups are not dependent on how your shooting was that day. i found the stock trigger on the mark 4 to have a "floppy" reset but the press itself wasn't so bad. of course after placing the accurizing kit, shooting the gun felt so much better. the groups didn't tighten up that much but the gun was easier to shoot.
