- In this exclusive clip from ‘Spencer,’ Princess Diana (Kristen Stewart) chats with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, about their Christmas weekend. Diana says the Royal Family lives in the past and doesn’t believe in the future. ‘Spencer’ opens in theaters on Nov. 5
I like how both Twilight actors now have major roles. Robert Pattinson Is now Batman and Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana.
And Taylor Lautner is now...oh yeah he just sucks at acting PERIOD 🤣
Aw Taylor Lautner did just get engaged though 🥺
And Taylor Lautner is getting married 😁😊

She just should not be Diana
Wow, Kristen is unrecognizable in this. Even had the voice down pretty well.

Oh my owrd
@@gurubalu6677 Princess Diana’s bodyguard said that Kristen Stewart delivered the most accurate portrayal of Diana to date.
The fact that they got an American actress, I’m shook. I didn’t expect this from her. Usually it sounds…corny when an American tries to mimic a British accent. Her and RDJ are the only ones I thought wow, not bad.
Many Americans have English ancestry. She definitely looks English.
Since she's talking about tenses in this clip, it's shaken...not shook 😉
@@SK-ut6tw i mean english ppl did created America
Don't forget Peter Dinklage! ✌
@@SK-ut6tw they are talking about their voice. not their looks. obviously..
That is amazing. Kristen sounds just like Diana. I think she really nailed this!! People, I think, tend to underrate her because of Twilight but what they don't understand is she played Bella exactly how she was written. Awkward. Bella is a very awkward person lol. I thought she nailed that too.
She nailed this, yess.. And seriously she made me cried 😢every time when I'm thinking about Princess Diana
This is amazing, Kristen is great here! I have to say that, yes, Bella was extremely awkward, and Kristen was great showing that, but for me, as a fan who’s seen many of Kristen movies and interviews, i’d say many of characters sound all the same, the same awkward way Bella was, and even Kristen seems a bit awkward. Her characters and personality sometimes seem the same. I think that was MY biggest problem when it comes to her acting.
She sounds nothing like her... none of the depth or tone. What i hear is Kristen Stewart trying to perfect a clipped british accent
Twilight is one of many cases of good actors, bad writing.
@@isadoratakagi3947 she's very different in charlie's angels. Oozing with confidence, no awkwardness at all 😉
Kristen finally shutting the mouth of the haters. She is a brilliant actress, BRILLIANT.
No she didn't. I still don't like her performance... so.....
@@AmaterDance hater
it's very much like Gillian Anderson's Thatcher impression in the Crown. When you hear more than a few seconds of it, it's like she's straining or saying things by forcing them up her throat. And that's not a NATURAL performance. It's a little grating.
@@vitorcesar1712 lol. When an opinion different from yours is hate now. Sad world.
@@AmaterDance I disliked her before, I still don't like her but I can't deny sues nailed this part, what exactly, bias aside do you not like about it? Genuinely curious because she's got the look, the voice and the mannerisms to a tee
It's funny how two of the most versatile actors came from Twilight. Kidding aside, she is simply brilliant.
That is delusional. I see more of Kristen than any other play she does
@@simsalabin2796 don't think anyone could look like Diana. In terms, voice, costume, mannerisms
Both are versatile in terms of the roles they take but in actual acting talent Rob takes the crown, even in Twilight I can’t find his performance as Edward in any of his other roles because he was playing that character and not himself. meanwhile Kristen who is a good actress tends to never cross that barrier into an entirely different person, at least until now.
@@tiarasewlal7533 the actress in the crown did a pretty good job I think
IKR. And Twilight was the thing that almost ruined their careers
Oh shit, this was really good.
It was never her fault that Bella was written with the personality of a grocery store grapefruit. She nailed that too.
😂😂😂😂😂
Grocery store grapefruit ahahahah
She got better actually.
Welcome to reality.
Yeah. She gets a lot of hate for her Bella role but Bella was literally written that way and she did her best with what was given to her 😭
It was no doubt that any actress taking on the role of Diana would have immensely big shoes to fill.. However, I’m shocked at how well Kristen has portrayed her. Very well done.
She is giving everything to that accent, you can tell it's difficult for her but she's doing it so well.
To me it sounds like she studied the way Emma Watson talks and enunciates. Diana talked a lot more breathy and slow.
@@LikelyLost she sounds nothing like Emma Watson lol what? She has a completely different accent.
@@LikelyLost same
@@LikelyLost this is a comment from someone that only knows British accents from film/cinema lmao
I'm british and she has done an absolutely fantastic job of Diana. To me, she has captured her perfectly and sounds just like her 👌
this is why we shouldn’t underestimate people based on their movie choices. people have to put their foot in the door somewhere, no one gets a Scorsese on their first try.
Shes brilliant shes come a long way in her acting since twilight.....very excited to see this....i feel this depiction is phenomenal amazing choice and I hope she wins best actress this year!!!!
Wait, are you saying this is K. Stewart?!
To be fair, I saw some of her stuff before Twilight and she was actually already good. Actors give to performances that the directors want so they probably just demanded emotionless brick and she obliged 😆
She absolutely _will,_ Heather. 👍
She's widely considered the frontrunner and everyone is saying this is "her year." Woo-hoo! 🥳👏🏆🎬
@@dewilew2137 Yup. Pretty amazing, right?! 😲
I saw the film last night and she is simply extraordinary in it. 👏👏👏
@@tonieundertwenty To be fair, there were 4 different directors for all of the 5 twilight films so you can’t really blame her blandness on them, the writers, or the studio. Her best performance from the entire saga were the last two films imo, directed by Bill Condon.
I admit i wasn't expecting her to be this good. She looks and sounds amazing
I got to see this in theaters and Kristen blew my mind. She really did a great job. Her best performance yet.
The accent she put on is amazing… she’s actually the most amazing actress
Preview looks like she nailed it. Remember Diana did not have a thick English accent. I can see Diana talking to her sons like this.
Diana’s voice was just soft and calming but her accent was very upperclass , I remember a speech of hers
I'm guessing that you are not British, as you refer to a 'thick English accent'! Diana's speach was RP with very 'upper-class' intonation. People with 'thick' accents are not upper class. There is no such thing as a 'thick' English accent - there are 'thick' regional accents; Brummie, Scouse, west country, Estuary, Jordie, etc, but there is no such thing as a thick 'English' accent.
@@martinen.5025 yes I am a decent of Great Britain (Shelley). Diana received classes on speaking. If you noticed her voice from years of Kindergarten to Princess it changed.
I’d love to know what a “thick” English accent is 😂
@@vivis9946 You sound crazy. Her accent was very obviously English.
Her acting is convincing. I think because of lousy twilight, she is underrated as an actress.
Twilight had great actors overall, but the direction was crap haha. I don't think even the best actors could save that movie. Still my guilty pleasure after all these years though not gonna lie. It's so bad it's good.
Kristen Stewart when she embodies a character she goes ALL IN. I mean look at her!
I have to admit that Kristen is very positive surprise in this role. She nailed Diana’s voice and mimics.
It was nothing like that- she sounds very cold- not like Diana
@@undercoverhamster2549 sorry, disagree.
What a heartwarming conversation between mother and child!
She was excellent.
I don’t even recognize her. Omg. She’s amazing.
I’m sorry everybody in the comments saying how amazing she sounds and how brilliant this is, I grew up watching Diana interviews and I do not see it at all.
Exactly not to mention her innocent beauty that is so hard to find nowadays this actress looks mean in her face Diana had angelic face.
@Nicole Wilson Yeah tbh even kristen stewart tired face with the eyebags and stuff. There's something grungy about her that doesn't fit Diana's natural elegance. The raspy voice she has, her skinny but not fit body.. This is not Diana at all. Not saying she isn't a good actress but I think this wasn't a great casting.
Nice job Kristen!! Didn’t see that coming
I think her voice is a bit aggressive. She does the airy bit very well. She just needs to lighten it. When I hear princess Diana's interview she had a much softer voice
Yeah, her voice is COLD
Yesssssss supporting my girl Kristen!!! i’m so happy for her and Rob
she got the voice so spot on
Everyone's talking about how she was in twilight, just goes to show you've never seen her in anything else and only judge her on that. You know she did an amazing job as Joan Jett in the runaways, think about that. How vastly different that character is from this one. That's talent. Kristen Stewart is fucking amazing. Bella Swan is just a lame character. (Same goes for rob Pattison)
So I was very impressed by her performance in this her role as Diana was fantastic and she did amazing job showing that woman's struggle and she looked so beautiful
She's a very talented actress. We all know everyone only hates her because they saw someone trolling her on tiktok. Lets just take a minute to realise she's done more roles than just being bella.
They’ve been trolling her since before tiktok…
@@RedStorm1392 ikr it's been years
To me it sounds like she's struggling a bit with the accent. It does sound like Diana but I think she should have sounded a little more playful here
Kristen's phenomenal performance sounds like
"I'm sorry
But the old Bella Swan can't come to the phone right now
Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead (oh)
Ooh, look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
Look what you just made me do
Look what you just made me"
😅😅😅
🤣🤣🤣
Wowwww 😳 she’s incredible
The accent isn’t bad. Sounds a bit forced. Diana’s voice was softer.
Yes, she makes it all sound so dramatic! Diana had this sweetness in her voice, which Kirsten didn’t have at all.
Kristen is so awesome.
What an artist she is.
She looks so f***ing magnificent! AHHHHHH!! So excited 😊.
Her princess Diana is astonishing
It's weird how few American actors play English people, while SO many English/Irish/Scottish actors play Americans so often. Stewart pulls it off though (not looking at you Winona Ryder).
What did Winona do lol?
Because when Americans do it they get chewed out for it
Because American accent is easy to imitate...The thickness of the different British accents is something else.
@@Nadiesalevivo Get back to me when Daniel Radcliffe can quote Shakespeare in a Boston accent

I wonder why Stewart chose/was given the direction to sound rather aggressive and tense here! 🤔 I mean, I am hearing Diana's voice level and diction and everything, but I remember a softer, more gentle voice ... not to say personality (I'm not her biographer, of course^^ Just thinking of all the footage I've seen).
She's acting like she's pissed off about the conversation
I watched the movie. The way she sounded the whole movie seemed to depict how she would have felt behind closed doors - anxious then fed up. She swore a lot in the movie. I guess to make her relatable and how many of us would have been in a situation like hers
I think she’s trying to sound more serious than playful for her children during this bit. She was talking about her former home being boarded up and possibly haunted.
@May M i think you're right. honesty I'm so not from a country where english is my first language but even though she doesn't sound like she's imitating an accent, listening to her was quite uncomfortable, especially in contrast to the children.
I thought so too. She did nail the accent and the mimics, but the angry and robust voice just isn't appropriate for Diana. You could hear kindness and shyness in Diana's voice, this is just plain passive aggressive.
I can't wait to see the whole movie. All the clips and snippets I've seen, Kristen was amazing
She did a wonderful portrayal. The film itself wasn’t terribly good but she made it worth watching!
She looks so similar to Princess Diana! The only thing kind of taking me out of it is her voice and tone of voice. I expected it to be softer, just like Princess Diana had a softer way of speaking. Kristen sounds tense, and has this lower raspy voice. And even her facial expressions look a little intense for this lighthearted scene. Still, she really looks the part!
Exactly.. Like i expected softer and smooth way for her to speak.. She looks the part but doesn't sound like her..
Nope nothing alike she doesn't do diana justice the voice stinks I'm British should have been played by florence from Florence and the machine atleast she's British and looks like Diana
@@tammajamma5820 I think she should have been played by the actress who plays Diana in The Crown! Agreed, they could have actually gotten someone British for this role.
@@MAYBEE90 I don't like the actress that played her in the crown florence the singer from Florence and the machine looks like her and actually is British. Go look at Florence from Florence and the machine then diana you will see the resemblance
I don’t know but in this scene she looks like she’s frustrated, maybe that’s why the voice is a bit hard?
Kristen did phenomenal on princess Dianas voice 😳
@gloriapsy I agree. I don’t know what everyone is hearing but she doesn’t sound like Diana at all. Diana’s voice was very soft, as if she was whispering. And Diana ended every sentence like she was asking a question, due to her lack of confidence. This accent is not it.
@gloriapsy first of all, this movie looks at the darker side of Diana’s life, so it would make sense if she sounded worn out. Secondly, this is very close to Diana, especially for someone with an LA accent.
Yeah, if you're an American you would think that
Wow I'm actually surprised by this
Woah, this is Kristen Stewart!? She looks unrecognizable, almost a mirror image of Diana! She did a superb job acting in this scene, I didn't know she had talent like this!
All hail Queen Diana…!!!
No woman can even remotely look as innocent as pricess Diana you can have her hair her slender body however something about her face was angelic.
What a great actress!
She nailed the role. I’m so proud of her. I hope she gets an Emmy for this role.
Emmys are for television
We open our gifts on Christmas Eve. I always just figured that people have their own traditions.
My only complaint is- why didn’t they put in blue contacts? Diana had such specific blue eyes.
agree with you about this point....
Yeahhh it is what it is but that would have been a nice added detail
Yep agreed
but I was also disappointed there was no blue contacts on Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, that was one of her major features but that’s Hollyweird for you. They don’t care about every precise detail.
Their eyes aren’t that different, this is just a dimly lit scene
Good point
She really nailed the tortured artist’s soul that Diana has.
I didn't expect this her role, She worked so hard to act and talk like Diana..well done Kristen !
She is AMAZING.
Her accent is soooo on point😍😍😍😍😍😍
I loved her in twilight - and I love her here 💕

It's unnerving exactly how much like Diana she is.
I love how everybody think they know diana would talk, since she was a public figure with a public voice. And this is a private scene. Like she never read anybody a good night story
i watched this movie with my mouth like this :O ,her performance was beyond amazing
She is so phenomenal as Diana 😭 Just this scene alone makes me wanna tear up
SHE’S COMING OMG
Regardless of if you like Kristin’s performance or not, you HAVE to agree that they did her dirty with the hair. This isn’t even accurate hair for 1991 Diana, hers was a lot shorter than this.
This isn't a play by play biopic.
I actually don't have to agree. Infact, I think she looks beautiful
The hair has been bothering me sooo much i’m suprised this is the only comment ive seen on this

She is excellent.
After seeing Spencer Thursday night, I said to myself this isnt the same actress from twilight. I had no desire to follow the series after the 1st film. Stewart gave a flawless performance showing her range.
Jesus she's nailed it
I just listened to an interview with Diana, then watched this. It’s amazing people think Kirsten’s accent and voice is accurate, it really isn’t. She doesn’t have the softness of Diana’s voice at all, it’s harsh and clipped here. I don’t like this at all.
The crown and this movie casted princess Diana really good
Diana had a short, her signature haircut, by the time her boys were so big.
Wow her voice took me by surprise
I like that they left the eye bags. Making actors and actresses look perfect is an American thing and it's a super clear distraction between American and British media. Same thing with housing most on American media have homes that are nice even if they shouldn't be. UK productions have accurate looking sets for the scenario.
It suits her very well
After watching this movie it left me rather sad knowing how much she suffered and the fact that not much was done to help her cope the staff tried to help her more then the royal family did I'm also concerned the the way she was portrayed in this movie the actors played their parts brilliantly this movie will only open some old wounds making it might not have been the best choice leaving some things in the past would have been best for all involved
She still has a way of affecting us after so many years. I'd like to remember her as she was.
THE PEOPLES PRINCESS.
Kristen's voice is just like Diana I'm tears
Kristen Stewart is spot on. Loving it so far.
I watched this when it came out. It was a beautiful yet sad film. I am glad the film focused on her 3 day journey before her divorce rather then her entire life. It really shows the low mental state she was in, yet showed her strength wanting to escape.
