Watching this interview I felt Diana had alot of pain inside her and this helped her release it. You could sense her emotions and the sadness like she was on the verge of tears. I admire her for doing this interview and being so strong to tell her side of the story. I admire her as a great human being and she will forever be the people's princess.
The interview was very controversial. Some people believe what she said. Some people thought she was mentally ill. I thought she should have won an Oscar for her performance as a pitiful victim. Diana usually had a professional makeup artist do her hair and makeup every morning and before every event. I suspect Diana did her own makeup to look more pitiful. ~~~~ At the time, Diana's reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. The tabloids labeled Diana a home wrecker. She was the adulterous mistress in FOUR marriages. I suspect Diana blamed Camilla to divert attention away from her affairs and to gain public support and sympathy. Diana was exceptionally good at using the public media to her advantage. She was known to lie to get what she wanted. ~~~~~ Why blame Camilla in 1995? Diana and Charles informally separated in 1986, almost ten years earlier. They were officially separated in 1992. Charles's 1994 confession made it very convenient to blame Camilla. It was very hypocritical of Diana to blame Camilla given that Diana had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996 including FOUR affairs with married men.
@@karlamccullough5319 Karla this is perfect! I'm a big fan of your posts! Diana wanted to look like a sad "woe is me" type of victim but Diana was really vicious and stupid!! ( Two days later she looked great according to the media in her now "revenge dress" ). She played the press and public. She did her own makeup heavily and barely touched her hair. Diana's reputation was almost blown up to smitherines and she constantly pointed her fingers at Camilla for ANY problem she had! By this time Charles and Camilla looked stable compared to Diana! You are correct to say she was critical of Diana because Diana was just looking for sympathy and pity and she got it from everyone - the whole world knew her hate for Camilla and Charles and the royal family!! Even now they all stand behind this ungrateful weasel!!
Joan, Thank you. I believe Diana was angry because her affairs were being reported in the tabloids and she was labeled a home wrecker. Charles's 1994 confession and James Hewitt's story about his affair with Diana added credibility to the tabloid reports of Diana's affairs. Princess in Love by Anna Pasternak is Hewitt's story, it was published in 1994. Her reputation was tarnished and I believe she wanted to destroy Charles.
@@karlamccullough5319 Diana could dish it out but couldn't ( and wouldn't ) take it. She knew people were basically calling her "another Camilla". Diana was much worse because she was so indiscreet! Charles and Diana once took a family vacation with the king and queen of Spain and Diana and King Juan Carlos supposedly hooked up on this vacation! Who does that? 😡😡. Queen Sophia sensed what was going on with these two and she left the yacht party! I don't think Queen Sophia ever spoke to Diana again and Charles must have been embarrassed about this. Charles must have been embarrassed for his air head wife too. Diana was emotionally callous to the queen and the queen's adult children who were there also. I think William and Harry were too young to notice. Thank goodness! Juan Carlos was just as bad as Diana and he didn't want to continue seeing her because he thought she was too needy and too clingy for him. When William got married the next Spanish King Phillipe was not invited to the royal wedding. He questioned Charles about the rejection and Charles ignored King Phillipe. Maybe Charles was still mad at his father the former King Juan Carlos and took it out on his son Phillipe. Hmmm. But I think Diana had a lot to do with this one!! Do "sins of the father visit the son"? Yes, Diana wanted to destroy Charles! She told Martin Bashir and everyone who was watching the interview that Charles would not make a good king!! Maybe she wouldn't have made a good queen! This set QE off and she insisted that they divorce. Good for QE. She did what she had to do. Diana knew that she was putting this hate for Charles in the next generations minds. She wanted him to go down in history as a terrible king and a terrible person most of all. How naive these people now are to not see Diana's trickery!! William and Kate will be loved 😅 but even Kate waited 9 years to marry William. Would Kate have waited for a butcher or a baker or a candle stick maker for 9 years?! Hmmm.
Joan, I agree with most of what you wrote. I read Juan Carlos's wife caught Diana with her husband in bed. Juan was a known womanizer. His nickname was Don Juan. It was extremely inappropriate and very poor judgment for Diana to have an affair with Juan. Reminder, Diana was having an affair with James Hewitt starting in 1986. Her involvement with Juan happened during her affair with Hewitt. She was also involved with James Gilbey during her affair with Hewitt. Remember that Squidgygate?
I will always admire Diana, with respect. She was so loved. I believe she entered the highest realm in HEAVEN. May she rest in peace and be able to help both of her sons with a devine intervention. I really do miss her.
Her Sound on her speech feels like a lot of pain inside and she didn't reveal ed the secret behind her deep sadness ,,,, feeling lonely and not surrounded by any help and support with any one around her ..... God Rest her in Heaven on yours chosen people by U ....
She truly suffered because she was a real, honest person.. it’s obvious Meghan watched this interview and thought she could pretend she was so condemned and be compared to Diana !😂 She didn’t think that most people would be able to see right through her phoney ridiculousness!!
What a woman! So real, gentle, kind, graceful and abundantly generous. I was quite young when she departed. But I believe we shall meet in the age to come.
Princess Diana you were England's rose, I'm sorry about what you went through. You were a strong and brave woman. You will always be remembered as a mother who did the best for her 2 boys.
The fact that she sat down to discuss such topics and be so real about it. She truly was a gem. I think of her daily as I get ready in the morning with a photo of her in my bathroom. She was like a mother and big sister to so many.
@@honeymoonavenue97 She already knew he loved Camilla ,yet she married him.He only loved Camilla,u can infer he never cheated on his love(he was loyal to only one woman even he was married) And now when it comes to Diana,she had more than 10 affairs in her life even when she was married.Tell me if ur husband doesn't love u ,does that give u license to become a whore?
@@honeymoonavenue97 Why NOT blame the woman? ESPECIALLY if the WOMAN is a nymphomaniac!! You can NOT blindly defend Diana because she is a female. I hope you are never called for jury duty. Open your mind and know that Diana took all her married boyfriends back to Kensington Palace and I feel bad for their innocent wives and children. These women should have gone on Oprah instead of Harry and Me-gain. Diana wouldn't have looked twice at Charles if he was a butcher or a baker or a candle stick maker. She USED Charles for a title. Not everything can be blamed on Camilla and Charles infidelity or Diana's youth. Diana had no respect for other women's marriages - did she? Yet we must all take her marriage with great respect? 😮
@@tonysingh7970 It's everyone's perspective to think their own way. I think that in here with out getting angry about all of this, we all should think that yes there was a huge age gap between the two and Diana although tried to be royal but was getting difficulty in fitting in and Charles was not much supportive of her, he might have loved Diana once in his life but his heart was always attached to Camilla, so it's like an overlapping situation, Diana needed a support and Charles needed attention I guess. I am not good in English and I do not know much history but seeing different videos and stuff, that's my perspective
I've always heard of princess Diana but never knew she was this angelic, beautiful calm and I can't find the right word to describe her virtue as a woman, I can't stop watching her videos and it's quite sad for what she had to go through from some undeserved family.
She is such a Strong Woman while Interview she s often near tears but she s able to bite on Lips and Shake her head little Bit, than Smile. Apparently you don't know the Diana claimed to be in love with a number of men. Diana claimed to be deeply in love with Barry Mannakee in 1985-1986. She said they talked about running away together. She said she was in love with James Hewitt, their affair carried on from 1986 until late 1991 or early 1992. Diana said she was in love with Oliver Hoare in 1992-1994. Diana wanted to marry Oliver. She said she was in love with Hasnat Kahn in 1995-1997. Diana wanted to marry Hasnat. ~~~~~ Diana had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood. She had difficulty establishing and sustaining close personal relationships. Diana had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996. None of her affairs lasted very long. The common denominator in Diana's failed relationships was Diana.

@melgrant7404 I respond to the videos and comments that are intended to undermine Charles and Camilla. You don't need to hate Charles and Camilla in order to love Diana. I wish Diana's fans would stop focusing on the failed marriage. Stop undermining Charles and Camilla. Diana's fans are poisoning people against Charles and Camilla. I share the other side of the story. I wish Diana's fans would focus on the positive parts of Diana's life. Diana said she wanted to be remembered as a humanitarian.
I admire her greatly. Considering her position its quite incredible and certainly unique how open she chose to be about her struggles and inspiring! And she was a very caring and understanding person.
Diana is Maverick Majesty which teach all monarchies the true magical loving bond with people... that's the truth those entities around her foolishly tried to ignore.
i couldnt believe that this is so heartbreaking. its absolutely hard for anyone to tell such issue that happened to her but she carried it all and was holding it in perfectly because there were so many things that needed to be considered so as not to damage anything around her. she's always an extraordinary woman ever lived
Charles was really sad and heartbroken. Diana wasn't standing strong she was standing revengeful and spiteful!! Charles never SHOVED the Countess Raine Spencer down a flight of stairs as Diana once did. Awful woman 😮😮.
Imagine what she went through, all her responsibility, being married to a man who was clearly in love with someone else, I can't believe she hung in as long as she did. Her public and family loved her, but the one man she wanted to, didn't. What shame. RIP, Diana.
Diana has been idealized beyond reality. The evidence is Diana cheated first. There were rumors Charles was not Harry's father. The marriage never really worked. Their relationship became toxic and both were miserable by 1985. It was Diana's relationship with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee in 1985-1986 that prompted Charles to end his intimate relationship with Diana in 1986. He ended his intimate relationship with Diana before renewing his intimate relationship with Camilla in 1986. There were rumors of others including Henry Hebert, Earl of Pembroke in 1983. Diana was a serial adulterer, she was the adulterous mistress in FOUR marriages. She had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996. Her married lovers included Barry Mannakee, Juan Carlos, Oliver Hoare, and Will Carling. Diana knowingly hurt other women. Her other known lovers included James Hewitt, James Gilbey, Bryan Adams, Theodore Forstmann, and Hasnat Kahn. NONE of Diana's affairs lasted very long. She had difficulty maintaining personal relationships. She went from one failed relationship to the next failed relationship.
Diana's family didn't love her. Not feeling wanted and loved by her family was the cause of her emotional anxiety problems. Diana was often at odds with her family. At the time of her death she wasn't speaking to her mother, her brother, and her sister Jane.
Melissa, What responsibilities? Diana was not responsible for any domestic duties. She had servants. The boys had nannies and boarding school. Nanny Barbara Barnes was William's primary caregiver and surrogate mother until he was age 4. Olga Powell joined Barbara about six months after William was born. Diana became jealous of the relationship between her and William, and Diana fired Barbara. Ruth Wallace and Jessie Webb replaced Barbara. William grew fond of Jessie, Diana fired Jessie. Olga stayed until 1997. Diana spent a lot of time talking to fashion designers and fashion magazines. She had a cook, cleaners, a butler, a chauffeur, and a bodyguard. She had a dresser to take care of her wardrobe. She had a professional makeup artist do her hair and makeup every morning and before every event. Charles had is own servants. She also managed to have eight affairs between 1985 and 1996. Four of her affairs were with married men. NONE of Diana's intimate relationships were successful long-term relationships. She wasn't happy with anyone for very long. She had difficulty establishing and sustaining close personal relationships. She was often at odds with her family and wasn't speaking to most of them at the time of her death. Philip stopped speaking to Diana after her 1995 BBC Panorama interview.
It's so sad to see someone try to downplay her achievements when you probably haven't even done half of what she has for people not only in her country but around the world. @@karlamccullough5319
Yes.. I feel so sad for Diana.. It’s obvious Meg watched and dissected this interview trying desperately to be compared to Diana.. What a phoney lunatic
she was a very sensitive woman, very attractive, who was not appreciated by her husband. I believe that her emotional nature did her no good ..,I believe he didn't have the support she deserved. She also died. Exist injustice for her , generally ❤
Princess Diana was so loved by the world and this interview in 1995 made people think about what the Royal Family is really all about and Prince Charles didn't know how good he had it with Diana. She was beautiful and she was the people's princess and the queen of people's hearts*** Miss you Diana much love from India
She was very brave to talk about her eating disorder. It was a different time and I remember her openness was shocking. Bulimia wasn’t understood like it is today. I’m not into conspiracies but after considering the facts and what the inquest found she was very likely knocked off. Dodi, Henri and Trevor were unfortunately caught in the crossfire
@funtimefranky Diana died as the result of a car accident. It was thoroughly investigated several times. First by the French and there was a British inquest in the 2008. All investigations concluded Henri Paul, their chauffeur, caused the accident. ~~~~~ A number of poor decisions contributed to Diana's death. Henri and Dodi planned the departure from the Ritz. Nobody else knew when they were leaving and the route they were taking. Sneaking out the back door and speeding away prompted the paparazzi to chase them. A brief photo session before leaving would have avoided the chase. If Diana wore her seatbelt she would have had a 80% chance of survival. If Diana had not turned down the protection services offered in the divorce they would have had a professional chauffeur instead of an intoxicated employee from the Ritz hotel. ~~~~~ The royal family was very protective of the boys and would never have put them through the trauma of losing their mother.
Clearsky, Diana had many of the traits and symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD). Bulimia, self-mutilation, lying, and not taking responsibility for her emotions and behavior (blaming others) are symptoms of BPD. Diana would say what she wanted people to believe, and it was often very biased and not fully truthful. Diana was still 18 when she approached Charles at an event in Sussex in June 1980. Her grandmother arranged for Diana to attend the event in Sussex to get Charles's attention. She turned 19 on July 1, 1980. Diana was invited to a royal yachting party in July or August. Then Diana was invited to Balmoral for a weekend in September 1980, so the queen could evaluate Diana and determine if she would fit in with the family activities and the family business. Marriage to a royal is also a job in the royal hierarchical organization. The weekend was a JOB INTERVIEW and Diana KNEW IT. Diana pretended to like Balmoral and countryside activities like fly fishing. She pretended to be easygoing and cooperative. Diana LIED to get the queen's approval to marry Charles. About a week after the weekend at Balmoral the Queen and Prince Philip started pressuring Charles to propose to Diana, that is offer Diana the job in the royal hierarchical organization. His proposal was a job offer and not a romantic proposal. It was an arranged marriage and not a love match. During the 1970s Charles dated lots of women including 24 potential brides from aristocratic families trying to find a bride that met the royal family marriage criteria and a bride who wanted to be an employee of the royal hierarchical organization. He proposed to Amanda Knatchbull and Anna Wallace before proposing to Diana. Both turned him down. They were literally running out of options and Diana appeared to meet the criteria. Diana wanted to be the Princess of Wales and have all the benefits of being married to the future king. It was Diana's life plan to marry well, either a royal or a wealthy aristocrat. Diana lied to get what she wanted. Diana disliked Balmoral and countryside activities. The honeymoon included two months at Balmoral. Diana refused to participate in the countryside activities that she pretended to like before the wedding. Diana was binge eating and purging multiple times a day and crying. The smell of vomit is not an afridesiac. She had unrealistic expectations and was disappointed and angry. She was so angry she had a physically destructive outburst and Charles was alarmed. Charles found a therapist for Diana before the honeymoon was over. Diana refused professional help. Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Diana was offered all kinds of professional help. Diana was not the easygoing and cooperative person she pretended to be before the wedding. She refused to follow many of the royal family rules and it caused conflict in the marriage and in the royal family. Charles's efforts to encourage Diana to follow the rules were perceived as criticism and mistreatment. Their relationship became increasingly TOXIC, and BOTH were MISERABLE by 1985. They were not compatible. They didn't have any shared interests other than the boys. Any sparks of romance were gone by 1985. They informally separated in 1986 after Charles discovered Diana was in love and involved with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee. Charles ended his intimate relationship with Diana to avoid the possibility of Diana having a child by another man and passing the child off as an heir to the throne. That would be high treason. There were rumors Charles was not Harry's father. Diana had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996. None of her affairs were successful long-term relationships. She had difficulty establishing and sustaining personal relationships. It's another symptom of BPD. Unfortunately the toxicity continued until the divorce. ~~~~~ Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders. Diana's sister Sarah also had an eating disorder. Sarah was diagnosed with and treated for anorexia. According to her butler, Paul Burrell, Diana was never able to completely stop being bulimic. Diana suffered from depression, low self-esteem, and self-destructive behaviors before she met Charles. Diana was heartbroken as a young child. She was the 3rd daughter, and her parents were disappointed because they needed a son to inherit Althorp and the title of Earl. When her younger brother was born, her parents openly favored him and neglected Diana. Diana was compared to her brother and her self-esteem was undermined. Diana was traumatized by her parents' fighting and divorce. She was age 6 when her mother left. Diana publicly talked about her unhappy childhood and struggles with depression and bulimia. She said she felt unwanted and unloved as a child. She struggled with emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood most of her life. The marriage was a tragic mistake. Diana's BBC Panorama interview was intended to undermine Charles and destroy his reputation. Diana's reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. The tabloids labeled Diana a home wrecker. Diana was the adulterous mistress in FOUR marriages. I believe Diana blamed Camilla to divert attention away from her affairs. After Charles's 1994 confession that his marriage was irretrievably broken down and that's when he renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla in 1986, it was very convenient to blame Camilla for the problems in the marriage. Charles's confession was in response to the 1993 Camillagate scandal. However, Charles's 1994 confession and James Hewitt's story about his affair with Diana published in 1994, added credibility to the tabloid reports of Diana's affairs. Diana was angry and defensive. Diana's BBC interview prompted the queen to request the divorce. Basically, Diana was fired (divorced) from her position in the royal hierarchical organization for being disrespectful and disloyal to the monarchy. Loyalty to the monarchy is mandatory in the royal hierarchical organization. Diana and Charles were on better terms after the divorce.
Diana was not knocked off. Diana trusted Dodi to arrange their departure from the Ritz. The decision to sneak out the back door and speed away prompted the paparazzi to chase them. A brief photo session before leaving would have avoided the chase. Henri Paul was speeding at 2 or 3 times the speed limit. He swerved to avoid rear ending the fiat uno car in the tunnel ahead of them. Henri lost control of the Mercedes and struck the 13th pillar at high speed. Striking a solid unmovable object at high speed is deadly. At a lower speed he may have stayed in control of the Mercedes. The accident was thoroughly investigated several times, first by the French and there was a British inquest in 2008. All possibilities of an assassination were explored and disproved. All investigations concluded Henri Paul caused the accident. ~~~~~ The queen was very protective of the boys. She never would have put them through the trauma of losing their mother.
Imagine all the pain and suffering this woman went through emotionally and physically and all the royal family did was gaslight her absolutely disgusting behavior from those individuals
And another one fell for that highly manipulative woman. She was spoiled, vain, narcissistic, destructive, always played the victim no matter what. People who pity her are easy to deceive.
Diana was toxic. Diana was combative and the relationship between Charles and Diana became increasingly toxic and both were miserable by 1985. Diana refused to follow many of the royal family rules and protocols and it caused conflict in the marriage and in the royal family. Charles's efforts to encourage Diana to follow the rules were perceived as criticism and mistreatment. It was Diana's perception that she was being mistreated. Diana genuinely cared about people. You can really see that in her. She had a heart of gold. Some people might unfairly claim that she was complaining and blaming the royal family for her problems to extract sympathy from the public, but I can see no malice in her. She was genuinely expressing her struggles only to be honest about it, and sometimes when you hold things in too long, it just comes out whether it's the right avenue or not. UNFORTUNATELY Diana as well as Charles put their young children through too much! Diana loved the cameras and microphones and interviews and writing and...
@JoanMorrison-vq2jc I agree with most of what you wrote. Diana definitely had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood. ~~~~~ Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Sir John Batten, the queen's physician, believed Diana had borderline personality disorder (BPD). She had many of the traits and symptoms of BPD. There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health.
Joan, Diana was diagnosed with insomnia in 1983. Long-term lack of sleep and prolonged use of sleeping pills promoted irrational thinking. Diana was increasingly paranoid and believed in conspiracies. Diana accused Charles of having an affair with Tiggy Legge-Bourke, and it wasn't true. Harry referred to Tiggy as a nanny. Tiggy was an assistant to Charles at Highgrove from 1993 to 1999. By 1992, the boys were in boarding school all week and spent alternating weekends with Diana and Charles. In other words, the boys spent approximately two weekends a month at Highgrove with Charles and Tiggy. The boys no longer needed nannies. ~~~~ Diana damaged Tiggy's reputation and Tiggy sued. Tiggy was awarded 200,000 pounds.
@@karlamccullough5319 Thank you for the replies. I'm so impressed with your posts. I also wondered about Diana's mental health. Whenever it was brought up close staff members and family and friends denied it very quickly. If these people didn't see it then they didn't help Diana 😔. I also think that Diana ENJOYED the harm she was doing to others. So it makes me wonder where Diana drew the line? Same thing for Megan Markle and Harry's reasoning. So often there are sad and horrible crimes being blamed on people "coming from difficult home lives" and I have to admit that I understand these people from hard home lives. However there are people who just can't get it under control. Diana left a trail of victims and broken relationships ( me too at times so I try to get it together) but Diana never stopped to get it under control and analyze herself....
@JoanMorrison-vq2jc Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia, her threats to harm herself to get attention, and her unwillingness to get the professional help she needed. Diana said she believed she should be able to sort herself out. She was eventually treated for depression and bulimia. To her credit, Diana publicly talked about her unhappy childhood and struggles with depression and bulimia. Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders. Her other emotional anxiety problems went untreated
@@melgrant7404 no she has not got her head in the sand and speaks the truth . And has done quite respectfully I might add. Diana was a mentally troubled girl and caused a lot of problems for herself and many others . Bpd .
Diana had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood. She was heartbroken and depressed as a very young child. Her parents were disappointed when Diana was born because she was the 3rd daughter and her parents needed a son to inherit Althorp and the title of Earl. Diana was age 3 when her younger brother was born. Her parents openly favored him and neglected Diana. Diana was traumatized by her parents toxic marriage, physical fighting and divorce. She saw her father hit her mother. Diana was age 6 when her mother left. Diana suffered from depression, low self-esteem, and self-destructive behaviors including bulimia before she met Charles. The honeymoon was a disaster. Diana had unrealistic expectations and was disappointed and angry. She was binge eating and purging multiple times a day and crying. She had a physically destructive outburst and Charles was alarmed. He found a therapist for her before the honeymoon was over. Diana refused professional help. Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. In 1981, Sir John Batten, the queen's physician, believed Diana had borderline personality disorder (BPD). BPD is thought to be caused by childhood trauma and genetic factors. Diana had many of the traits and symptoms of BPD. People with BPD have wild mood swings. She was unstable. She could be happy and pleasant one minute and switch to depressed, crying, angry, and even violent. She had difficulty controlling her emotions and behavior. She had difficulty establishing and sustaining close long-term personal relationships. She was diagnosed with insomnia in 1983, long-term lack of sleep and prolonged use of sleeping pills promoted irrational thinking. Diana was increasingly paranoid and believed in conspiracies. Diana had severe postpartum depression with her pregnancies. She needed and refused professional help. Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders. Diana would binge eat to comfort herself when she felt emotionally empty. Feeling emotionally empty is one of the symptoms of BPD. Diana's sister Sarah also had an eating disorder. Diana told 3 or more different stories about her weight loss and bulimia. In one story she blamed Charles. In another story she said she learned bulimia from her sister Sarah. Blaming others and not taking responsibility for your behavior is another symptom of BPD. There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health. One of the books is Diana in Search of Herself by Sally Bedell Smith.
@@sureyyaekinci4630 Charles was sympathetic at first. He had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Diana refused professional help. Diana and the Spencers misled the royal family before the wedding. They knew Diana had serious emotional problems, and it was hidden until the honeymoon. She had wild mood swings. She could be happy and pleasant one moment and switch to depressed, crying, angry and even violent. She was unpredictable and emotionally unstable. An example is during an argument with her stepmother, Diana tried to kill her. Diana pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs at Althorp. Diana was in her late 20s at the time. Diana created a very positive public image of herself, but she was different in her private life. ~~~~~ It was an arranged marriage and not a love match. Diana was a difficult person to love and live with. She was often at odds with her family. Charles is stoic, a workaholic, introverted, and extremely loyal to the monarchy. He doesn't have a 9 to 5 job. He often performs royal duties 7 days a week from early morning until late at night. He wasn't prepared or available to provide the level of attention Diana wanted. (Besides, Charles was not Diana's consort, Diana was Charles's consort. It was Diana's job to be his supportive spouse.) Apparently no one man was capable of providing Diana with the attention she wanted. There were rumors Charles was not Harry's father. Diana had EIGHT or more affairs, including FOUR affairs with married men, before the divorce was final. NONE of Diana's intimate relationships lasted very long. She went from one failed relationship to the next failed relationship. Diana's longest affair was with James Hewitt starting in 1986. During their affair, Diana was involved with Juan Carlos in 1987 and James Gilbey in 1989. Hewitt talked about Diana's extreme emotional neediness and obsessiveness. She phoned him Ten times a day. Diana was not a Saint. ~~~~ All of them made mistakes. The marriage was a mistake. Real life is messy. 42% of marriages in the UK end in divorce. It was an arranged marriage. Both failed. Both were miserable by 1985. Both had second thoughts before the wedding.
There was a lot more than the depression that caused problems it was her all round bpd and all the moodiness fits of rage temper tantrums her threats demands . No man could stay with her and indeed no man did . Diana omitted a lot of truths in that interview and lied a lot too.
@peterlawrence6815. Depression is highly detrimental to one's happiness and peace of mind obviously. I think the royal family tried to help Diana but she gave up so quickly. There were a few therapists that she saw. Odd how much Diana spoke on mental illness issues and yet Diana wouldn't get treatments. She also spoke of anti bullying and Diana was emotionally cruel to people! She shoved her stepmother down a flight of stairs while she was visiting her family at Althorp!! Diana was vicious! When people side with Diana it only makes her mean. Favoritism is UGLY! In these interviews she is only trying to burn Charles at the stake and humiliate him and the royal family and Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowls and in the long run herself and her two young sons. Her tantrums and temper were very erratic and treacherous! Her clothes and jewelry and smiles were very appealing so she had a lot of flash!! People would just fall for everything! Towards the end of her life her popularity was dwindling and rightfully so. Her multiple AFFAIRS were very disturbing.
@@JoanMorrison-vq2jc agree I was once a fan of Diana right at the beginning of their relationship but one day I looked at her body language ant thought we have got a real attention seeker hear and I believe I was right . The more I read and listen to her interviews etc the more obvious it becomes that she was a bad person perhaps this is why she refused treatment , a psychologist psychiatrist would have seen through her facade . I sympathise will her difficult childhood but that’s no excuse for the trouble she has caused quite a few people . I must add that even through her childhood was not the best compared to a lot of others she was also privileged and had a chance at having a good education did not have money worriers and a London flat bought for her by her mother , she only had to work part time in a low paying jobs so in that sense she was lucky . Diana was not ever going to be happy no matter what .she had bpd which she never admitted to or addressed .
But what makes a man special and worthy of staying? Did you not listen to what she was saying in this interview? Her outlash was a cry for help. At the end of the day, she was still a person with real feelings. It's sad there are people who lack empathy and compassion for others and look down on them for their mental health struggles, yet they don't accomplish half of what someone like diana did for her people. Everything she did was without a man. He wasn't there for her as he should have been. And if she were still alive today, she definitely wouldn't have settled for just any man. Diana had partners after she divorced with charles, She didn't immediately tie down another man. She just explored her options. If she really wanted to keep just any man, she would have chosen any of the men that attempted to propose to her, and there were plenty.

They make you ill then point the finger and say She's unstable and yes they do use it. They don't want you to be well. They want you to be ill so that they can go off and do what they do 😢 That is my family and friends too😢
Watching this interview I felt Diana had alot of pain inside her and this helped her release it.
~~~~
At the time, Diana's reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. The tabloids labeled Diana a home wrecker. She was the adulterous mistress in FOUR marriages. I suspect Diana blamed Camilla to divert attention away from her affairs and to gain public support and sympathy. Diana was exceptionally good at using the public media to her advantage. She was known to lie to get what she wanted.
~~~~~
Why blame Camilla in 1995? Diana and Charles informally separated in 1986, almost ten years earlier. They were officially separated in 1992. Charles's 1994 confession made it very convenient to blame Camilla. It was very hypocritical of Diana to blame Camilla given that Diana had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996 including FOUR affairs with married men.
@@karlamccullough5319 Karla this is perfect! I'm a big fan of your posts! Diana wanted to look like a sad "woe is me" type of victim but Diana was really vicious and stupid!!
Joan,
Thank you.
Hmmm.
Joan,
I agree with most of what you wrote.

A man who was obsessed....
Melissa,
What responsibilities?

Diana died as the result of a car accident. It was thoroughly investigated several times. First by the French and there was a British inquest in the 2008. All investigations concluded Henri Paul, their chauffeur, caused the accident.
~~~~~
A number of poor decisions contributed to Diana's death. Henri and Dodi planned the departure from the Ritz. Nobody else knew when they were leaving and the route they were taking.
Sneaking out the back door and speeding away prompted the paparazzi to chase them. A brief photo session before leaving would have avoided the chase.
If Diana wore her seatbelt she would have had a 80% chance of survival. If Diana had not turned down the protection services offered in the divorce they would have had a professional chauffeur instead of an intoxicated employee from the Ritz hotel.
~~~~~
The royal family was very protective of the boys and would never have put them through the trauma of losing their mother.
Clearsky,
Diana had many of the traits and symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD).

Mentally healthy people don't have eating disorders.

In 1995, Diana said what she wanted people to believe and it was extremely biased and one-sided. I believe Diana was angry and wanted to undermine Charles and destroy his reputation.
Her reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. She was angry because Charles's 1994 confession added credibility to the tabloid reports of her affairs.
@@karlamccullough5319 Most combative people are hot heads and pushy. It's interesting just how inferior and insecure and unstable Diana was and yet she never shied away from The World Stage!! Definitely! I always felt a strong kinship w/Diana b/c I’ve endured similar kinds of unfair treatment by my family over many years & suspect I’m not the only one out there…MANY people understand quite well what she’s describing. We may respond to it in different ways, but we most definitely identify.
Such an Angel God bless her sons! Good for her telling her truth. Her heart was so big she deserved the best. She was ahead of her time, so sincere, so Beautiful in and out.
"I think people use it" that sume up nearly everyone good or bad
Diana genuinely cared about people. You can really see that in her. She had a heart of gold. Some people might unfairly claim that she was complaining and blaming the royal family for her problems to extract sympathy from the public, but I can see no malice in her. She was genuinely expressing her struggles only to be honest about it, and sometimes when you hold things in too long, it just comes out whether it's the right avenue or not. I know this from personal experience myself.
I never liked the Royal family, but I always liked Princess Diana....she was the real deal.

Post natal depression is different from depression. Why dont people understand that in the first place? Almost all women undergo post natal depression
It’s a different type of depression it’s not hugely different just a different kind. I’m sure her life and pre natal also made her depressed. She had childhood trauma too
@@brittanywilliams4174 postpartum is only temporary. It goes after a while. Did she really have depression? So much is discussed about mental health, that it gets suffocating. Everything, in the current world is attributed to mental illness, which itself can push a person to depression, while in reality they may not have any problems. Too much technical jargon. In a sense, she was lied to, in that Bashir gave her the impression that the interview was backed by her brother, that he supported it, which was a lie.

Diana definitely had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood.

Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Sir John Batten, the queen's physician, believed Diana had borderline personality disorder (BPD). She had many of the traits and symptoms of BPD. There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health.
Joan,
Diana was diagnosed with insomnia in 1983.

Diana damaged Tiggy's reputation and Tiggy sued.

Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia, her threats to harm herself to get attention, and her unwillingness to get the professional help she needed.

Diana would binge eat to comfort herself when she felt emotionally empty. Feeling emotionally empty is one of the symptoms of BPD. Diana's sister Sarah also had an eating disorder. Charles was sympathetic at first.

It was an arranged marriage and not a love match.
It was Diana's job to be his supportive spouse.)
Apparently no one man was capable of providing Diana with the attention she wanted.
