🔥 Incredible performance by an amazing band, even better than the recording. Thom Yorke is otherworldly.
Dave Grohl called Radiohead one of the all-time greatest live bands, and said that the album Ok Computer started a musical revolution. 🔥
Paranoid Android is a song from the album Ok Computer...
I hadn't watched this live performance for a long time, so thanks for bringing me back to this, tonight. This is an awesome masterpiece!!!
Havent seen this live recording at all, so thank you Anthony for requesting this!
The key to these songs is ECONOMY of ARRANGEMENT... it's complex, but not so much that it only sounds good with studio trickery. You watch this and then... go directly back and listen to the studio version, and you realize..."Oh my God... they're probably playing this live on the studio version!!" Radiohead has a bunch of songs where they display this craftsmanship in arrangement and The Smile does a damn good job as well.
always great to see people who understand music react to radiohead.
It’s great watching you when you’re feeling it.
Radiohead has the most range I’ve ever heard in a band
Dude I'm going to do something I've never done on your channel. That is BEG. I BEG you to listen to their album OK Computer, it is widely considered one of the greatest albums of all time, and it's from your country. Paranoid Android is from it. I want to share that with you, it's something you need to hear, you are a lover of music, you need to hear it my friend. Keep it up bro, love your reactions, comedy, music, most of it is my jam.
double beggin hehe
This is one of those songs where you remember where you were when you first heard it. I instantly picked this album up immediately after when it came out. Blew me away. Great album and somewhat beatlesque.
Imagine hearing or watching this for the first time again, jealous, legend Rory keep up the good work, love your Norm reactions bro
Really enjoying your honesty of reaction - they are just soooo enjoyable but also challenging
Man i wish I got to experience Radiohead for the first time. Going to be life changing brother.
Oh hell yes.
It' was sometimes referred as a Bohemian Rhapsody of the 90ies
I remember this at broadcast, they did Airbag the same night, and both performances were top notch and are imo still the best performances of those tracks they ever did.
Jools Holland always had great mixing and artists really shine.
and No Surprises ❤
Watch it again, and again, and again…. ❤
I remember where I was & who I was with when I watched this……Was blown away!……Still am ❤😊
Imagine writing this song.
Thank you Rory for another great reaction video!! This song is probably at the top of the list for me. I absolutely love Radiohead and I just freak out every time I see them because I can't believe how incredibly talented they each are! It's so insane how amazing they are. Jonny Greenwood on lead guitar is a composer and completely brilliant and Ed O'Brien on rhythm is fire and Phil Selway on drums.. Colin Greenwood on bass and absolutely fire everytime Thom Yorke who writes most of the songs and has a voice that just can't be beat.. it just doesn't get any better than this!!
You been sleeping on radiohead if your sleeping on the guitar player. Haha
Now go t everything in its right place to see a totally diff vibe. This is what they do push the envelope even now!
For the song Thom Yorke and the band were inspired by The Beatles song "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" and Bohemian Rhapsody, as you may have heard this song is cut into four parts that intertwine to make this fantastic piece.
Where did they say bohemian rhapsody inspired the song?

'PARANOID ANDROID'
Hyper-complex, vaguely prog-rock multi-mood epic, ranging from acoustic angst to white noise, yet perversely chosen to be the first single from OK Computer. Perhaps because all those clearly defined segments make it a Bohemian Rhapsody for the Nineties. Apparently.
Ed: "Well, when we wrote it, one of the references was Bohemian Rhapsody But the other was the Pixies." "It's not a Bohemain Rhapsody for the Nineties - it's just a handy reference point.
-Melody Maker, May 31st 1997-
(This is an excerpt from an interview that the band given )
Thom's no longger Johnny Rotten. Heads up, in the future, he'll be Willie Nelson
paranoid android gets better every time you hear it. no matter how many times
Such a voice...😢
Haha "he's changed his hair".
Much later on I think Radiohead will be considered their generations Beatles (listened to years later after they call it quits) their range as a band is unlike anyones other than the Beatles. Every one of their albums is its own entity, a completey different soundscape to fall into and just vibe and get lost in (the reason why they are meant to listen to in album format like Pink Floyd). There is a great reason why they are probably the most critically acclaimed band since the Beatles and tons of Jazz and even Classical musicians cover and like them so much, have fun and enjoy this insane rabbithole there is nothing else quite like it.
Masterpice , amazing ❤
Do weird fishes in the basement
Three and a half songs in one
I'm like you, I much prefer to hear the album version first, but I guess Anthony wanted the live one.
Please give me a modern band that can create like this 🍄
My favorite live version of this song. It's only too bad that they're weren't allowed to play the entire 8 minutes of the song.
Please explain!
The recorded version is around 6 & a half minutes.
Jonny Greenwood is the best!
Haha tupac sweatshirt for the brit
