That's a cool take on Thom and Johnny rotten. I never thought of that, very cool.

*Rory.* Great reaction as always 😊 Tons to peel back and think about with Radiohead. If you want to tackle an album, do Ok Computer. You are now becoming an honorary Gen Xer 😁♥️
Also ... if you want to get past the Johnny Rotten thing, some people have said Thom Yorke looks like Tilda Swinton. You're welcome 😄

haha Tilde Swinton, I see it. Gen X all the way!

Love the Johnny Rotten comparison. 😂😂 That was my reaction the first time I saw Thom in the “High and Dry” video in ‘95. I think he has that punk ethos in the way he approached the music industry machine.

that song (and album) perfected '90s rock. other people kept trying for a few more yeats and then gave up and just started the next decade.

I know Creep and I listened to one album by them. I need to listen to them all. I DIG them! Never heard this track.

Whether you react to it or not, hit the studio version. The complicated instrumentation and delicate voice sound even better with really good audio.

and yeah, THIS IS THE SONG that really got Radiohead huge, it wasn't fucking Creep...this is the one, along with the album, that gained Radiohead millions of LIFETIME fans. Like most people I pretty much ignored Creep and Pablo, this was the one that made everyone go 'ooh!' especially when paired with the video, which is the first in a string of about 8 amazing videos in a row thru OKC. But Fake Plastic is the one that started it all off...Creep was basically just a temporary 'false-start' for the band, a premature start, but this was the real beginning of the true Radiohead we all know and love. ALSO...be sure to look up Jeff Buckley's influence on this song, it's a great story.

Hoping Conan can eventually HD re-post his mountain of music clips, like Letterman has, he had SO many great 90's/early 2k band moments that sadly are almost all online only in horrific grainy quality. I would at least like to see him/them re-post all those special White Stripes/Strokes/S Pumpkins/Bowie moments, he pretty much got everybody on that show *EXCEPT* Mr Jeffery Scott Buckley...as did NO ONE ELSE in the whole fucking country. HOW THE F DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?! No Letterman, Leno, Conan, no MTV performance...which is extra weird because Columbia LOVED him, saw him as a 'legacy artist' like Dylan, they didn't make ONE phone call?? So fucking strange, and pathetic. [ball drop gif]

I totally see Johnny Rotten writing these kind of lyrics later in his career, unfortunately he bought his own hype
