My favorite would be "Car Wheels On A Gravel Road" by Lucinda Williams. Although she is considered to be an alternative country artist, this album has it all. Blues, alt country, rock, and Americana while winning a Grammy for best contemporary folk album.

Great list, I still prefer Donnas Debut but nevertheless they kept on rocking, X ray spex would be high on the list for me. Cheers

Garbage (Shirley Manson) I also liked a lot of Trip hop like Portishead (Beth Gibbons) and the like Morcheeba (Skye Edwards) , Mazzy Star (Hope Sandoval ) Kidney thieves (Free Dominguez) As far as more rock stuff from back in the day stuff like L7 (Donita Sparks) and stuff like Veruca Salt (Louise Lightner Post)... I always gravitated towards female vocals. The cover of Joan Jet doing ACDC's Dirty deeds STILL give me chills . And I love me some ACDC.
I am now going to go give this Detroit cobras a listen and maybe a few others as well. I am trying to expand my music selection I get stuck int he 80's - early 2000's. Thanks.

Sounds like The Gits, fronted by the late Mia Zapata (RIP), should be on your list.
I am so happy I got to see The Donnas in a small club in San Jose, not far from their home town Palo Alto, about ten years ago. I saw Blondie in Oakland around 1979.
I want to turn you on to my favorite all-female and female-fronted bands, all currently active. All from Japan.
OTOBOKE BEAVER - Hard Core Punk with a feminist twist. They started 13 years ago, and have toured the U.S. many times.
HANABIE - Metalcore +. They call it Harajukucore. Start with WE LOVE SWEETS (OMV)
BAND-MAID - many people our age are calling them the best Hard Rock band of the last 40 years. Definitely number. They combine an unbelievable amount of talent with fantastic song writing, to give a fresh take on familiar sounds. My attention is always focused on the amazing vocalist, SAIKI. Try all their live performances. They have a huge international following and have toured the U.S. many times.
LOVEBITES - Reviving the sounds of IRON MAIDEN, HELLOWEEN, METALLICA, TESTAMENT, SLAYER, and GARY MOORE, with the incomparable twin-guitar attack of MIDORI and MIYAKO, and the very special vocals of ASAMI. Try all of their live performances.
GACHARIC SPIN have been making music for 15 years. Their current six-piece configuration is their best yet. Try I WISH I and MINDSET (OMV), and blow your mind with REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY +THE COME UP CHAPTER (live)
UNLUCKY MORPHEOUS is a metal band with an astounding twin guitar attack, female vocalist FUKI, and violin shredder JILL. Try BLACK PENTAGRAM (OMV and live).
NEMOPHILA are relative the youngest band in this list, comprise two amazing shredders, an extremely charismatic vocalist, and a powerhouse drummer.
MARYS BLOOD, formed in 1981, are the godmothers of Japanese metal. Try their classic WATASHI WA ARASHI (I AM THE STORM).
There are many others worth checking out as well.

You could've put a Sleater-Kinney album in there.
