NO ONE clicks on an automotive video wondering what music the submitter is into. I just can’t believe it’s not more obvious that we’re only here for the vehicle.
I need to find someone to go to the beach to play with ATRAC so I have someone to pull me out if it doesn't work this well. We have deep sugar sand ;) lol
A guy at work to the company truck out to the front gate, parked on level hard ground in the parking lot and got stuck. It was a rear wheel drive only Ford or was it a Chevy I forget. It dug a little divot in the ground with the left rear wheel and got stuck. I couldn't believe it got stuck on level ground in the parking lot.
I'd be interested in seeing the same demonstration using ATRAC without crawl control. Isn't it really the function of ATRAC that extracts the vehicle while Crawl Control maintains throttle input?
@@kimbuck-2 apologies let me be more clear…crawl control is only the cruise control feature of ATRAC without crawl control ATRAC is the same thing except you’re controlling the speed. The tool is the same. In fact it’s been said in certain situations controlling the throttle yourself in ATRAC is better than the herky-jerky crawl control feature felt when climbing rocks and other terrains. When the vehicle is stuck in the sand the demonstration shown on RUclips is nothing more than a gimmick whereas you can do the same thing pressing the pedal. Been there done that. My SR has ATRAC and it is truly amazing. So I have the same tool tool. 😎
one things for sure I’ve gotten myself stuck in the sand using Atrac and by switching it to crawl control my truck was able to perform better then I was by jerking each individual tire causing the entire truck to vibrate and getting me rolling so it’s no gimmick in the situations I’ve been in.
I engage 4lo, A-TRAC, crawl control, and lock the rear diff out at the base of every speed bumps at my local Whole foods parking lot. After I peak I activate DAC for the decent.
Try Turing off the AC for a little extra power or roll down the windows for better fuel efficiency. If that does not work I see lots of owners with the SR5 in my town with attached rear jacks and traction plates. They must use them a bunch in a similar situations. If that all fails I know a guy you can call in the middle of the night and he will help you especially if you’re stranded in a mud hole in the middle of the mountains on private property.
He did the right thing by speeding up the video. Trust me, I have done this same exact demo back in 2018 and while it is not mind numbingly slow and boring, it is pointless to count the seconds/minutes away as it does its job. ;) The only thing you are missing is the brakes pulsing between revolutions causing the sand to fill back in the hole, thus lifting the tires up.
I can assure you that the truck is in the same position through out the video. I took advantage of the situation to take many pictures and smooth out some sand. Regardless the feature of craw control was tested and in my case it got the truck out

My ‘21 only goes forward in crawl control. Granted, I’ve never stuck mine that bad. Mostly playing with it on some hills just to try the feature out. When things get bad I just lock the dif and hit ATRAC.
I thought so too. I think 5 years ago they demonstrated this in a tacoma. The wheels are pretty much burried like this 4runner but the tires were spinning a lot slower (like crawling =o) and it got out faster that this 4runner.
He doesn't even explain how it works or anything about the system whatsoever. Plus when the video resumes after he supposedly gets stuck, the truck looks like it's been staged by having sand swept up to the tires and there is no streaks in the tires nor is there any dust or blow back dirt on the truck itself. Unless he's really OCD and likes to clean stuff constantly. To me it just looks staged. But that's just probably be negative because every single time I've ever gotten beached like that, I had to have my ass towed out, in other words resting on the sand on the frame rails like that is tantamount to "you're fucked".
That was not crawl control, wheel rpm was too fast. You got out of the sand after starting to turn the wheels back and forth. That is the _only_ effective way to get out of sand.
There was another video on RUclips where the guy showed the whole thing in real time with the noisy ass grinding sounds the system makes when working. Took longer but the truck did get out on its own. No music except for the off key grinding sound.
Can’t believe nobody else noticed the truck is in a completely different position the sand is different around the truck and everything when he performs the crawl control.

He walked all around the car while talking but kept only a onsided view look closely at the wheels and see no grip is detected so board and stones on the unseen side?
