I have a 2010 MacBook Pro, and weighing in at 4.5lbs for a 13”, that’s pretty heavy for a smaller device. The 2021 MacBook Pro 16” only weighs .2lbs more, and the device is larger, which is amazing. I’m going to upgrade late this year or early next year. But I’m still in a toss up between getting the M2 MacBook Air or just waiting for the newer M2 Pro/Max MacBook Pros come out.
Those pre-retina MBPs are so dense! I've got the 2011 13 MBP and every time I pick it up it throws me off. It just depends on what you want to do with it. The M2 MBA looks like a great machine for most use cases. However, the screen on the Pro/Max MacBooks is just brilliant. Let us know what you decide. Have a great day, Ninja!
M1 Max is expensive for a laptop.......Good purchase though and make sure not to buy 512 GB SSD as there are issues w/it......1TB and up only!! Avoid M1 Pro and M2 Pro = not worth it
Most of the time I have it plugged in but not because of a responsibility to the battery health. I'm not one to baby tech. Apple has a battery replacement program that would allow me to fix it if it ever does go bad.
Taylor! You got a Summer haircut. Looking good! Another excellent video and especially from a real pro user. You know what type of machine is required for your work flow and income earning ability so people can rest assured in your opinions. Well done! You’re going to hate on me, but I use a keyboard protector as I can’t stand the patina on the most used keys. Oh well, I’m not a pro user. I really always dislike that term in forums and videos, but in your case, I respect the hell out of your being totally pro and as always, wish you the best. Cheers! PS. Waiting for your opinion on WWD! More content to come, I hope.🤞
Wonderful video, I'm a first-time MacBook owner. What's its battery health now compared to when you started using it. Any recommendations to care for the battery health, based on your usage/habits?
Thanks, Stepphan! Currently, battery health is at 96% after a little over a year of ownership. I'm sure there's some things you can do to stave off degradation of the battery but, I don't have those recommendations. I just use it without worrying and battery life is still excellent.
@@StepphanMcPherson what you can do is use the App aldente. You can adjust to what level the battery should be charged (batteries prefer something between 30 und 80%) - you can also let it emtpy the battery completely (what should be done sometimes too), and you can tell the app to fully charge the battery. In the pro version (everything so far is in the free version) you can also use sailing mode, which will let the battery "sail" between two set levels of charging, in my case 60 und 80%. In general you can say: The best thing you can do is keep the battery between 50 and 80%.

I have 16 M1 Max, 64 ram and 1tb ssd. I’m pro photographer and use it strictly for photography. But I have problems with it. When I open Psb files, it takes between 2 and 3 minutes for them to open in Ps. Psd files generally are also not snappy, it takes between 20 - 30 seconds for them to open. In addition to that, when I’m in the process of saving the open file, and then in the same time go to create a smart object, a dialog box pops up with the forward moving progress bar, it takes about 4-5 minutes each time for this to finish.
