    Thank you! This video will not solve my specific problem, and I knew that in the first 20 seconds of the video. I know that doesn't really cater to youtube's algorithms, which probably prefer anyone that clicks a link here to watch a significant portion of the video, but you've saved me 10 minutes of watching and skipping around to hear exactly what the issue you're delving into is. I appreciate it!

      Hmm, what issue are you trying to resolve? Maybe I have a video in my playlist that can help

      Well my issue is that it’s stuck on dry only mode , it’s a button you have specifically press for just dry only and it turns green and just leaves it on that setting so now it won’t come off completely and go back to its manual wash and dry mode don’t know if that will be more of the upper top part of the cleaner like you was stating in the video but I did everything far as resetting, cleaning , etc it’s just that button won’t come off so it’s for sure a technically issue like it’s froze on that mode

      If you still have your receipt- I recommend contacting a service center or Hoover customer service- it possible you can either get it fixed or get a replacement unit- You really don’t want to void the warranty by self serving it ( If it’s still under warranty that is)

    As an aspiring diyer, your vids are invaluable! Didn't have this issue, but your vid allowed me to see how to break it smartwash down, and realize brush belt was off (under instead of over the middle roller) and fix my issue, which was that the brushes would stop turning as soon as they touched carpet. Don't know how belt got misaligned, but it's working good as new again! Thanks for your awesome vids, Ive watched quite a few now just for fun.

    HI I like your videos. It helped me to see how this sucker comes apart. The unit I have has the same problem. Found an OEM solenoid online ( Part 25686057) Cost 20 to 30 bucks. But found a better solution. I had a theory that the mechanism on the solenoid was stuck due to leaving solution in the machine. I was able to pry the coil part off of the solenoid off leaving me the just the shaft of the mechanism exposed. I just flexed the shaft a little being careful not to crack anything. Put the solenoid back together and tested. Worked like a charm. So I will recommend what you to do with this unit or any carpet washer is run clear water through the unit before you put them away. That way any sticky stuff is cleared out too.

  • @morewaterslides
    @morewaterslides 7 месяцев назад

    I've been researching this for a while taking apart the entire machine and believe I can share some useful knowledge. The solenoid has a metal sleeve attached to a rubber stopper on the inside of the plastic shaft. That metal sleeve becomes oxidized and seizes up over time. To test, connect the two male connectors to a 120v outlet with some loose wire; if you are able to hear a click, the solenoid is working properly. Also, there is a motion control sensor on the "driver" side of the cleaner. It is critically important for the correct wheel to be on that side. They are each attached by a small connector pin but one wheel has a magnet on the inside. That magnet triggers the sensor; if they are reversed, the cleaner will stay in dry mode. If this helps, consider converting to a Dallas Cowboys fan; you all know you want to!

    • @morewaterslides
      @morewaterslides 7 месяцев назад

      Also, I forgot to mention that that motion sensor sometimes gets installed backwards. Not a big deal though. Just flip it around so that the plastic portion is sticking out toward the wheel.

    Great video! My spraying works fine when in F/B operation. However, the water flow when using a hand nozzle is not working. I have blown air through the hose water tube, and it works. I have also tried depressing the valve where the hand hose attaches to the main body, and there is no water flow. Have you or any of your viewers explored/fixed this issue before?

    hey I have the same problem with my smart wash that has only been used about a dozen times. Not happy. Big investment for a unit that only works 12 times then fails. Anyway, did you happen to find the solinoid and circuit board for this unit? If so, would you mind sharing with me the info and pricing on that? I’d really appreciate the help. And thanks for the video. It helped.

    Hi Wayne, First of all congratulations on your channel very good quality content! Second, I have a question (which might be good ideas for your channel):
    - I'm planning on buying a wet hard floor vacuum could you suggest me one based on these criteria (criteria which can be useful for any potential costumer looking for an honest review)
    a) durability, it seems that some brands has durability issues
    b) easy to clean, although I'm not planning to pick up any mess just regular dust around the house.
    c) easy to fix, once the warranty expires of course.
    Best wishes and you just got a new fan here. Blessings!!!

    • @monroevacs

      Good question- the two easily accessible machines would be Hoover Floorcare and Bissell Crosswave (corded)- there’s a few more brands out there like Tineco, Neakasa, shark and Hydroclean but I’m not totally sure about their durability to be honest- as for Bissell be aware of common issues like suction (see filter and seals) brush stop turning ( brush motor or gear) and No spray ( pump or handle trigger) The Hoover is a simple unit probably more durable than the Crosswave ( do not over fill the dirt water tank) the only repair that may give issue is if you need to change the power switch. Wish I had more but that’s a good starting point

      @@monroevacs Wow man, very useful information!! specially coming from a guy who actually repairs them. You should give it a try to a video like about this topic it would be super super useful for anyone trying to buy one of these machines. From your answer I think is better the Hoover. Just to be clear, what is the exact hoover model that you mention?

  • @DM-vl1tv
    @DM-vl1tv 6 месяцев назад

    I think your repair might of worked with the new solenoid, but you didn't push the machine forward to see if it worked. You kept it locked in the standing position which won't allow it to engage the wash setting even if the solenoid is working. I will try this option with testing it by moving it. So Thank you for that.

      @DM-vl1tv 6 месяцев назад

      @@monroevacs Yes, but wouldn't you need to push when you have the new solenoid? It only goes into wash mode when pushed so the solenoid wouldn't engage the water to flow if not being pushed.

      @@bryantmclean27 right...which is why when he turned it on he should have tried to use it by pushing it forward. The light that he showed was for dry, because that is the more it defaults to. Wish it was a simple solution- could be the tank, could also be the solenoid (cracked or broken, allowing the water to run out instead of being on standby) could also be a cut in the tubing- you would have to open it in order to find out
