Rammstein has been my favorite band since the 90's. I'm Brazilian and I was young when this record came out. I needed to save a lot of money because I earned very little at the time and around here they only released Rammstein imported cds. I waited a long time to hear it and when I heard this song I cried like a baby. Decades have passed, I've been able to watch three of the band's shows and I feel exactly the same way I did in the 90's. I still admire and love the band and their way of telling stories. Till is a contemporary poet who speaks of very difficult realities experienced by people. Love it too much.
Your experience is so awesome to hear. Yes, their story-telling ability is unique. But then, Rammstein is one of a kind in many respects and has set the bar sky-high. Most other bands just sound lame to me now...

The character of the song strangled his beloved woman because she cheated on him, and left her corpse near the piano, the corpse began to stink, then someone's parents found the body and took it away, and they did not believe him that "he is terminally ill from grief and stench", the stench was from the body.

The Live Aus Berlin 1998 show is excellent. Lots of great songs they don't play anymore. The previous song is one of my favourites, Wilder Wein, which only existed as an old demo song. the version at Live Aus Berlin is a lot different to it and the best version. Bucksttabu has it uploaded with English cc
All the old Tracks are so damn good. " Alter Mann, " Kokain" , " Sehnsucht " the first 2 Albums are just insane
and their cover of Kraftwerk, "Das Model", is very good too!

You made an interesting comment, Dominika. Till is not just telling stories. He doesn’t allow distance. We feel so unconfortable, because we listen to the murderer, the cheater, the canibal, the monster... himself and are forced to to walk in his shoes ... and love it. And Andrei: I think you are right. Rammstein did not change a lot. They are still the same without beeing boring for one second.
Alter Mann is also very beautiful and underrated. Thank you for your Rammstein journey.
This song also has a instrumental piano version that youd probably like. Its on an album called "Klavier" , which is just songs of theirs on piano. "Rammstein- Klavier. XXI-Klavier album"

Playing the piano stands for playing with love. He held his breath because he was fascinated by her playing and by her. When he found out that she was only toying with his love and not just toying with him, he poured her blood into the fire of his anger (he murdered her out of jealousy). When he, the perpetrator, started his game (the murder), she held her breath. The rest simply describes the grief of the mother, the anger of the father and an emotionally intangible because mentally ill man, who went from being a victim to a perpetrator. Moral of the story, don't play with someone's love as it can cause a lot of suffering!

I am waiting (among several other songs) for "Puppe" (album version). I will not be boring because I know you will listen to it sooner or later, but that's one of those songs I really wait for your reaction to...
And yes, Rammstein is the best band in the world and they always will be for me, even if there is another genius artist threating to be something really special in my life... (I guess you know who I am talking about) 🖤

Oh, they love to hear, when they make people happy with their songs. Well, not all German interprets can do it like Till. He is really something special. Someone you will not find so fast on this planet again. He is not scared, of expressing his emotions on stage and well, I am a bit into Astrologie as well and with true note in cancer, he does exactly what he has to do. I am still working on mine. This is one of my very favorite songs by them, the writing is incredible. I wish they played it live more.

Great that was my Favorit Song on their first Album...can you Imagine a time when ramstein played live in a little Town Hall with maybe 400 viewers at most..well l was there. Nobody knew them back than but from the beginning they Made a Great show in stage with Fire and Everything..

@@darrylrotrock7816 a pal of mine back than had a none mainstream music taste. We were often there to listen to some strange music and one day he had a Ramstein tape for us to listen. And a few weeks later he said he will go to the concert so we joined him. And we thought ok a normal heavy metal concert somehow.. But as the show started the lights went out..and in that somehow tiny hall the back door opened and till played with fire and walked with the band on stage... The whole concert was only about 60 minutes but these were somehow really cool 60 minutes...

@@michaelschlageter8381 Haha, hardly a normal heavy metal concert! Now, of course, we all expect an inferno extravaganza, but that must have come as a shock, back in the day. In what town was this? Anyway (und die Moral von der Geschicht) - it pays to have weird friends. They expand our horizons...
@@darrylrotrock7816 😀Ja but a positive shock.... The town is called Emmendingen, about 8 miles from where l live. I m even not sure if the first CD was on the market back than because l bought it about 2 month later. When the back door opened you could only see the outlines of the members of the band softly.. All painted in silver and than they stopped a few meters from where l stood and than till started his flames..and you know back than everybody was full in 5heir performance no handy lights or something just the smell of weed alaround mingled with the smell of gasoline.. Thanks for asking. This brought up some nice memories...

I had not realized myself how beautiful German truly was until I started to teach it. My students felt the same - just a couple of weeks in, and most of them really fell in love with it. The vivid imagery - "Fingerspitzengefühl", "Fernweh", "Menschenfresser" etc. And they were struck by its "symphonic" cadence. "Nothing like in the movies", they all agreed. That's the joke now...stop watching those brain-deadening war movies! Before the World Wars, nobody thought German sounded harsh or unpleasant. So, why not keep politics out of a discussion about languages and their unique harmonies? It's time to move on and recognize that German is one of the classiest sounding languages - like a piano concerto. Only Latin features even more precision and grace.
I totally agree with you. I think that German is very similar to Latin when it comes to grammar. When I was studying German I found it useful that I had studied Latin, because it gave me a basis from which to build.
@@CrisSelene Latin and German are like ten-speed bikes...all those gears (i.e. rules) seem daunting at first. But once you immerse yourself, they really guide you and you can take off in confidence! In contrast, English resembles a tricycle. Easy to start and reach a reasonable level. But, for seekers of perfection, a frustrating task. Anything goes! There is neither rhyme nor reason...just look at the pronunciation. (Evil/devil...rough/bough...kind/wind...horse/worse). I do like English, but German and Latin will always be my twin loves.
Between your Rammstein and Ren reactions I don’t know which I enjoy more. I guess both! This is anther extraordinary Rammstein song. Your other reactions as great as well. Also I’d like to say you are a very charming couple and your kindness, love and respect for each other exudes from your videos. Just beautiful ❤️

The piano is actually a methaphor for his feelings for his ex. And because she „played“ with his feelings (the piano) he killed her.
Yes, the piano is a metaphor for people who can play with the feelings of others to perfection. Whether the reaction of the person affected by the manipulation is the physical erasure of the other person, for me not clear.

Why do I hear so often that it's a piano teacher? What teacher should say, "I'll always stay with you"?
It's either the girlfriend or more likely the sister.
The sister promised her brother that she would always be there for him. She did not keep this promise when she met someone else (a boyfriend) with whom she wanted to be.
The brother felt betrayed and strangled her at the piano.
With this behavior he became as violent as the father who always beat the children and the helpless mother screamed at him as always.
