    hoping my plans go thru. I've been battling lung cancer for little over 2-1/2 years now, still owe over 50K on my in town home and just want to sell it, buy small parcel of land and get one of these small buildings to convert into our country rustic cabin. it's just my wife and I and we sure no longer need a 3 bedroom brick, not counting the fact that I no longer want to live in the city limits. just now getting some of my health back, not all of it but some and just want to live a simple life. it's coming, there's always a challenge to overcome but after fighting cancer I feel there is not much I can't accomplishment. just would want this dream to happen.

    I think a lot of people didn't hear that these tiny homes can be put on a foundation. There are kitchens, bathrooms. Etc. These homes are being built for low income and previously homeless residents. There is a tiny home village in Tulsa Oklahoma that is a gated community and is co op housing. What co op housing does is the Tennant's pay 300 a month rent, 100 goes toward their a co op account. 200 goes toward the town's maintenance. When they earn 3000 the home is theirs. The money in the co op is put in a joint fund and if someone new moves into the park (there are about 80 homes now) they do the same with 300 a month rent being paid. This way the tennant owns a piece of the community. It gives them dignity and peace of mind that they will be safe and warm in their twilight years. A lot of elderly people live in these communities. But there are families that live there now. Some of these homes have lofts in them with stairs so that the children can sleep there. A family just moved in to one a few months back, they had 3 little kids. 2 girls and a boy. They have the kids sleep upstairs on twin size mattresses etc. These are people who would otherwise be living on the streets or run down apts. Price is a little high but these communities barter and earn more money from co op community garden and co op restaurants and they even have a teacher that lives there that started a chartered school. Just wanted to share that information. These communities are popping up all over. Sorry for the book...lol.

Waste of energy, & looks like it was not designed by anyone who really knows or spends a lot of time in a kitchen.

    • @SilveredRaven
      @SilveredRaven 5 лет назад +30

      @@billkoke45 Well think about it, for a tiny ass building, you're just getting that. You're not paying the plumber the 35k. A two floor 16 x 32 shed with electrical already running through it, runs 12k. This "Tiny house" shed, is one floor. 15 x 34. Average cost to run all the electrical through the new building, and all the plumbing and finishes to the interior would run you just shy of 12k. A shed like this, which is a 16 x 32, runs roughly 10k. So total would be 22k.

There is know way your going to put in all those finishes for 12k. Im sorry, this is what i do for a living. I estimate the costs of construction for building homes. Yes, you could save by building yourself but not the case here at least no one is claiming that in their comments. Just one time watch the show tiny houses, or when your picking up groceries pick up a magazine on tiny houses, see what they sell for.....No ignorant bullshit spewed here. If bought with out the interior it could be finished and furnishings and appliances could be set up however the buyer would want. A small one to two acre lot with a power pole, septic tank and run off for "grey water" would be great. Or at least that's what I'm thinking.

In my humble opinion the kitchen does need a collapsible countertop extension from floor upward for meal prepping.🏡

    35K, No way. I had a 16x28 tiny house built with a 16x10 covered deck, I installed hardwood floors,3/4inch drywall, R19 insulation and R30 in attic, with a solar attic fan, and a standard fan at other end. plus a celing fan, and a walk in closet with bath. 2 doors with tinted windows. I had a 1 ton mini split ac installed, had 100AMP METER installed, with generator backup plug in place. with premits total cost 30K but mine is liveable and had NO damage during Hurricane IRMA. This looked nice but not for 35K I would say buy a tuff shed and convert it over to your likings.

      Uh. . Have you added a tiny tiny addition to a house lately? Your looking at about 20 grand just for a tiny little room ,that's not including showers, plumbing, drains, sinks, toilets , and cedar lumber, I've spent 600 just in plumbing to add a toilet and a sink . .that was not including the toilet or the vanity, sounds crazy right! Just what you see on outside is not what all what it cost , like lots of people think if you do ceramic tile all you gotta do just got to buy the tile for let's say 800 bucks , well there is concrete backer board , screws , thinset, trim, nails, quarter round, grout, so your up to about 1200 😂! That tin on the ceiling they got runs about 50 bucks a sheet , so it adds up quick , not a bad price at all they are asking 👌

Years ago when I was installing ac units both commercial and residential this unit was commonly refereed to as a P-Teck (trade name). I have been in the construction field for more years than I would like to talk about so I have a very well balanced knowledge in the construction field in most all areas, roofing was the one I did not like, so I stayed away from that area.
