Common applications could be for longer range game hunting out west for example. PRS competitors for spotting and ranging targets or for ruck style competitions such as NRL Hunter series or Competition Dynamics series.
Ray, thanks for the video overview. You’re right there’s not much info out there. 2 things no one has addressed yet: can you “zero” or collimate the laser with the etched crosshair in the binos? And can I take a wind reading/direction from my kestrel before a stage, lock it into the binos, and have it apply that wind vector to the firing solution accounting for direction of fire? Thanks again for the video!
Thanks for the indepth review on these. I keep going back and forth with the Sig 10k and even though you strongly recommend these I'm probably still going with the Sigs (I have a friend at the range with the new model and after using them several times I'm pretty happy with their quality).
Thanks for the great review. You touched on a point that I was immediately curious about when I first heard of them: the ability to “look through” things like fog, rain, snow, and even light screening vegetation. I contacted the company and was advised that wasn’t an available feature. My primary rangefinder, the TruPulse 200X by Laser Technologies, does have that feature and it works very well. When set to the “far” reading, the unit returns a reading from the farthest thing in the sensor field. I get readings to several hundred yards in heavy rain or snowstorms. The unit can also be set to the “close” readings and that will return the distance to the closest thing in the sensor field, such as a single branch or power line. Had I learned that the Vector X had that feature, I would have preordered it immediately. Now I’m still trying to decide.
Thanks Ray, thats a lot, and this 2 days after I just bought GPO spotters for my wife and i... 🙄 now I need to save up and buy these too... Great review, looks like a great product
good video. they look very good but i will agree with you on the etched reticle that definitely could have been done better. My favorite T mil reticle is in the vortex mrad eyepiece for their spotter that 22x is amazing. i sold those to get some geovid LRF 10x42 and were good but sold those to get some Swarovski EL Range TA 10x and have been running those ever since... these Vectors look interesting especially with the rage extenders... definitely something i want to get my hands on. I love they came in 12x swaro needs to offer 12x in there LRF as well.
For all the long range hunters, it would be awesome to hear your thoughts on glass clarity, low light performance, etc compared to Leica, Swarovski, Zeiss, etc.
I recently switched from the zeiss victory rf 10x42 to the vector x smr 10x42 Optical clarity is on par with the zeiss and the leica rf binos. Not giving up anything there. I will say that the zeiss does have a little more color pop compared to the vector x but I think that the software in the vector is soooo much better that the little bit of color you are giving up is nothing in comparison. Vector X is the best total package available in my opinion.
Freaking incredible!!! Amazed, there is enough money being spent on binos to warrant this much innovation! It's already available, but will some be in the hands of consumers that their scope is tied to the binos and any dialing will be fine without touching the turrets. The crosshairs will be the POA driven by BA and weather variables.. Never a better time to be a consumer!
Vector X sounds good but it's $2800 List. My Sig Sauer's are very nice at $1300 and I got a nice discount to bring them to $900. They have beautiful clarity and the LRF nails the distance of the target very nicely out to over 600 yards (which is a shot I'm not taking).
I had the Sig Kilo 3000 LRF Binos while they were fast they lacked a built in compass to determine DOF, I sold them and got the Vortex Fury HD 5000 ABs. They don't calculate quite as fast but imputing wind and DOF is much easier and the calculations have been spot on.
Down side is that with binos you normally use them on shorter ranges (up to 1000 yards) and for ELR you really want a spotting scope. It'll end up cheaper getting a high tier spotting scope and a cheaper rangefinder. I mean these are 1K USD more expensive than a terapin X, which has similar features with a bonus of 3d target mapping and saving via the terrapin X app.
Stick with an original terrapin. It'll actually work on small targets like coyotes on snow at a mile unlike anything tney make on the civilian side today. These are ALL designed to prevent civilians from wanting the effective military stuff. Who cares if you can range a rockwall at 3400. I want to range small targets made of flesh as long range. They are also like $1500 or less now. Often $1200
You mentioned milling and yes i still use that quite a bit. It takes a little arithmetic and is slow but is not effected by atmospherics as electronic devises. Something about setting up your range data , range card ,just seams more sure to me.
Awesome review. Love your channel. I’ve been in the market and was leaning toward the Sig 10 kilo gen 2, but now I’m not sure. How would you compare the Sig gen 2 to these? Thanks again.
These look great, is the 3 year warranty enough? If these are connected to your tripod and a 30mph wind blows it over, will they warranty the damage? Vortex will. Accidents happen.
Love your reviews. I watch and share.. have you tried the Hawke Sport Optics Binocular Tripod Moun, they work well with the Sigs. That strap seems too awkward.
What is your opinion on the durability of the electronics system. I’ve read a lot of disappointing threads about past models not holding up as well as customer service being terrible
Very through review Ray. I saw the Area419 video when these were being introduced. Pricing is important. Are they giving any pricing for mil/leo? Plus, Sig has their Gen II out and it worked on the blue tint issue.
Hi, Ray! Amazing overview, as always! My question focuses on an apparent redundancy in owning these along with my Kestrel 5700 Elites. Why does one need a Kestrel now? I am sooo glad I have held off purchasing the Sig RFB's or the Leica's. I am springing for these babies now! But wondering if I should sell my Kestrel 5700 Elite unit now?
00:45 Know exactly where this was filmed at and the veiw of the cars passing through the tunnels. The east bound tunnel collapsed in the 80s and my dad was one of the DOT inspectors in charge of the repairs. Step incline to get there from the road and even steeper drop to the bottom. Ray, Just got introduced to X-ring and enjoy the videos. Be safe.
My apologies. No that I think about it, it was the west bound that collapsed. They rerouted the west bound traffic through the east bound tunnel and made the outer bypass for the east bound traffic.
@XRING welcome, Ray. Appreciate your hard work and education. Was just watching the shooters and there high-end equipment/ammo in the 1-mile shooting challenge and was wondering if you ever considered a challenge to have a shooter with a off the shelf hunting rifle (.308, etc.) and factory ammo attempt these shots. Do you think it is doable or impossible?
Actually , how about a LRF built into a Spotting scope ? , years ago USO was thinking of doing it , and use different wave lenght laser so you can push the range much further than 4k . I donot like the focus knob , all they should have done , was a focus on each eye piece , also the tripod mount should be intergal , not a extra piece . Also Killflash covers .
Holy crap Ray. I watched the video and marveled at all the features. When you got to the price point, I thought for sure you were going to say 8 or 9K. I was floored when you gave the actual price point. To get this much quality and that amount of features for under a grand is mind boggling. It's so cool to see something on the market that's this advanced for such a fair and "affordable" price point. Long but good review. The glass in these seems awesome based on the screen shots you provided via the iPhone 15 Pro. I was totally impressed.
I really wish they would come out with these without the ballistics. I already have AB on another device so I don't need to purchase that functionality again.
No disrespect but that makes zero sense. Now all you technically need is these in your pack and you're good to go! Granted I am with you on not wanting to pay the Applied Ballistics tax again.
I never wanted to own a binocular with a built-in rangefinder simply because, if the electronics failed, I'd be left with "half an instrument". 👎🏼 Unless they had an unconditional lifetime warranty like Vortex and their, warranty had expired, it would cost more to repair them than buy a new set. Of course, if I were a Billionaire like Ray, I would throw them in the trash if something failed and get a new pair with no worries. 🙂
No need to prove it . I take you at your word. I did put the caveat in there that conditions have to be perfect. We have high humidity in the south. I have never seen my 10ks go farther than 3100 yards.
Finally, someone’s actually done a real review, and showing how things work, instead of just teasers. Thanks for the work you put into it
What the hell are they used for if you aren't an Army Ranger or whatever?
Common applications could be for longer range game hunting out west for example. PRS competitors for spotting and ranging targets or for ruck style competitions such as NRL Hunter series or Competition Dynamics series.
id like to see these put up against the new sig kilo 10k gen2
Another great video. Always looking forward to X-Ring vids.
Thank you sir and thanks for watching 👍🏼
Well done, Ray! These are so stinking cool.
Thanks guys! You guys always have the utmost respect from me. Great job working with Vectronix on this. 👍🏼
As usual Ray exceptional detail and informative. Appreciate your expertise. .
What an excellent in depth review. Goodness knows however, when they’ll ever be available in the UK
Great review Ray! Best review on the VV X LRF.
Ray great info, crazy good knowledge, thanks for sharing your expertise!

I can’t wait. I’ve pre paid and I’m so stoked for these. I’ve been using a terrapin and Sig Kilo 3000’s.
Great review ray I'm still running a 20 year old 8 x42 geovid cost 900 ponds all those years ago
Awesome review. Great Info as always🔥
Outstanding review brother

This has got to be the best rangefinder/bino unit out there. Great review legend 👍
This channel just keeps on getting better.
X-Ring he da man 👊
All it needs is image stabilization to make it the ultimate.
Especially if utilizing the range extenders. Without OIS you’ll need to stabilize the binos on tripod/bag when going 12x plus
Awesome review. Love your channel. I’ve been in the market and was leaning toward the Sig 10 kilo gen 2, but now I’m not sure. How would you compare the Sig gen 2 to these? Thanks again.
I was in the same boat. Sig gen 2s now have a lifetime warrantee and Vector X is 3yrs for electronics and 10yrs for the binos.

Excellent review. Would you suggest this unit over the Vortex impact 4000 instead? Thanks!

Hi Ray, Have you used the sig gen2, if so what’s your opinion between the gen 2 sig and the vectronex ?
Thank you.
for that price the warranty is garbage. spending almost 3k I would expect 10 years on the electronics too

Pretty sure Safran/Optics 1 makes the thermal core for the new Eotech Gen 2 Clip on thermal units.

Is there a set of RF Binos under $1000 that you’d recommend?
Burris makes a Signature 10x42 for right at 1k. Burris has a lifetime warranty and should fit the bill.
Laser RangeFinding (LRF) Binocular
Where do we buy them?

Hi Ray I was able to range close to 9000 yards with my sig kilo 10k range finders , I have video and pictures to prove it .
