The ones getting upset are the 'elite' PRS community members that are offended by the average shooter buying an average rifle with an average scope, who dares to encroach and violate the standard of their 'elite' sport. Just grow TF up guys and get over yourselves!! Thank you Ray, for including and welcoming us average folks to long range shooting! And great job patiently coaching Annastine, she did fantastic!
Come on, the “elite” shooters in any discipline are too busy competing and could care less what anyone else is shooting. Matter of fact, most of the top guys will borrow you their gear and help you get into the sport. It’s the ones that buy a 2500 dollar 338 Lapua setup and don’t shoot it, that talk negative about anyone else doing anything else. Great work on the video! My bro has .308 savage that we wanted to throw another barrel on and get him out shooting more.
None of the real elite shooters I have squadded with would ever make fun of or look down on another shooters gear especially a new shooter. Maybe the want a be elite would comment but not the real deal elite. If you can sign up for a reagional match in the central region I promise you Dale Rhodes, Matt Carouso, Dan Jareke, Kyle Marsh, Jeremy Vonglahn and many many more will take you under their wing and make you as good as your self motivation will take you. Ray what you exhibited in this video is spot on with what I have witnessed in PRS. This is a great way to grow the sport of shooting and not just PRS.
@XRING can you tell me if you ordered the savage axis short 3.0 acis or the long action 3.56 magwell chassis for your 6.5 creedmoor from outlier? Trying to order my first boltgun. I just brought a savage axis 2 in a 308 with threaded barrel as the donor rifle.
My goodness that girl is a natural rifle shooter. Very impressive performance. Big shout out to her Dad for his sanction and encouragement and to Ray illustrating once again his incredible knowledge in competitive shooting and how to wrest the best out of a budget rifle set up.
In the shooting sports discipline it’s all about the challenge , from shooting empty cans with a red Ryder BB gun at 100 feet to any given platform to 1000yards or a mile , competition or recreational fun range day it’s all about the possibility of pushing yourself and the equipment to its limitations and possibilities, so keep doing what you do and showing us how you do it 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼, haters will be haters 🤷🏻♂️. BTW that was some great shooting and awesome spotting .
I've never done any rifle shooting but this series of videos honestly makes it look so fun that I want to replicate this newbie setup and start trying. You really make this look like incredibly fun and approachable for novices. I can't imagine a better advocate for this particular hobby.
Ray, Once again you have "knocked it out of the park"!...I am amazed at your teaching persona with this young lady!...We can all learn from your continual concern for safety in the "excitement of the moment" while shooting, as well as your effective communication to her of shooting skills/fundamentals. You a one fine instructor...and one amazing guy. Thank you, Buddy!
Your content is consistantly the best on youtube. the volume of criticism is proof of that. Don't ever change, and keep following your instincts. You are by far the best channel on shooting sports.
I stumbled upon your channel because the algorithm put your "part 1" in my feed. I watched it, then part 2 and now I'm here ..... I'm about to land a 600 yd bulseye on that subscribe button 😎 .... great content, you do a fantastic job of explaining and come off as very inviting and patient. No arrogance whatsoever. 👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲 i appreciate that. Keep on bringing us great content my guy! Top tier! As far as the "haters" yapping in the comments on the first 2 videos, if they don't like it why do they continue watching 🤷 , you're awesome, never apologize because a few people didn't have parents.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!!!!! New shooter and coaching in the bag!! A big thanks to Duke for allowing Annastine to try her hand at this and get bitten by the bug! I reckon she'll be competing in no time at all and her Dad gonna be one proud pappa bear!! Keep up the great content Ray & hope the health is good!
First time I’ve seen a custom rifle built on the back of a tailgate!!! lol This is probably one of the best, most descriptive step by step process of putting a rifle together!!! Great job man!!!
I am in the process of getting a couple of rifles set up for my son and I to shoot PRS. When I look around at the people involved in the sport I see $$$$ rifles and as a family man I can’t do that. It is nice to see you show some relatively inexpensive (comparatively) ways to have a rifle that you can still have a lot of fun and get experience in this sport. I am working with a Howa barreled action in a Trybe chassis and a savage 110 hunting rifle that I am going to put in a second hand chassis and get an Outlier barrel for (based on what I have seen here). Both are topped with Arken scopes. Just trying to have fun with my kids without getting a second mortgage on my house…..
You are never going to please everyone, and that is okay. Speaking for myself I enjoy all of your videos, and appreciate the time and money you put into producing them. That young lady did an Awesome job and showed how easy it is by having the right equipment and training. Great job.
Outstanding video Ray. I just yesterday took my Savage Model 10 6.5 Creedmoor out for the first time and was able to get out to 1000 yards with a Vortex Diamondback 6x24x50 scope and a MDT Oryx Chassis system. Just about to turn 70 years old and having a blast shooting. Watch your videos all the time. You do a great job with your no nonsense instruction. Keep up the great work. Much appreciated.
I enjoy shooting at our 800yd local range with my 6.5 axis, however a horrible DIY stock bedding made my groups widen along with the factory pencil barrel wondering after 3-4 shots. I’ve been thinking of a MDT chassis and now these outlier barrels just to have fun shooting with it now. Thanks for showing us that budget minded people can still enjoy the fun.
She is a fantastic person at listening and following instructions. This is the kind of student that Ray (such a great teacher) could help become a top female shooter in any number of the competitive shooting currently popular today. There is nothing better than having a female who is at the top of the food chain in their chosen shooting competition. I'd love to see Ray work with a female shooter and track her progress as the competitions get more competitive. I believe with the right student Ray could help train a world champion female shooter..... He's extremely good when teaching young students and seems to be particular good with young women students. At one time, his daughter was a very competent female competitor. Not sure if she's still doing any shooting, but if not, it was great to see a father daughter share that time together doing something that has real value later in life!! Great job teaching Ray and extremely good student improving her skills dramatically in a fairly short time frame......
Thanks Bryan! My daughter grew up and got a license, etc.etc. and shooting wasn’t a priority any longer. Now it’s college applications. They grow up fast but I enjoyed the time we spent on the range and it’s something her and I will never forget. 👍🏼
The only thing budget about this rifle and it's optic is the price tag. Appears to be a great value and could be a competitive rifle against those so-called top or elite rifles that have a price that can be described as top or elite. Not exactly sure what additional bang you get for the thousands of more bucks they spend. How much better could the same person shoot with the "Elite or Top Tier" expensive rifles. There is some additional results a highly skilled shooter can achieve with a more expensive rifle with the extra features, but I honestly don't know that a normal shooter would be that much more successful with a much more expensive rifle???
@bryanduchane2371 I think it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I have competed with a factory B14 barreled action that shot well but when I switched to a custom barreled action it felt like a huge improvement. But it wasn't like my match performance went from bottom to top.
First time watching your channel. I want to express my respect to you for helping this young lady experience the pleasure and excitement of PRS shooting. Much respect for you and your endeavors. You are a good man.
I have been shooting for nearly thirty years, I love unorthodox efforts like what you did with that hunting rifle, all of these keyboard PhDs can get lost! What you are doing is emboldening people to realize they can enjoy this activity at any level!!!! Thank you for what you do, a huge fan!!!!
Love it! Well done young lady! I have never heard of Outlier but glad to know about them now. I have 2 Savage rifles. (I have an SH4 G2 and for money it's 100%.) One is a .223 and I'd JUMP at the chance to barrel that thing in something that will single feed as well as out of the mag. (I do a fair amount of load development so single feeding is pretty much a massive desireable.) It shoots 69 grain SMK's lights out despite the barrel looking like it was cut with a 50 year old rusty file that was dug out of a corn field. And yes, Savage used ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the torque on that bolt knob on both of my rifles. Thanks for this series!!
I loved what you did with the axis! Don't pay attention to the complainers there just jealous that they can get on target that fast. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more of this type of challenge
Thanks for the footage Ray. What I enjoy the most is not only can you shoot but you have the gift of explaining it to a new beginner to shoot and hit at long distance. I always learn something new on your videos. I’m grateful that you pass your knowledge to others.
I loved watching this. So awesome teaching her some fundamentals. I love that chassis as well. I've been thinking of putting my 6.5 Bergara in a chassis.
Ray, please don't ever apologize for your content! It is always enjoyable, and you are a wealth of knowledge, experience, and information. Who would have thought that anyone could hit mile with an off-the-shelf system, in less than 24 hours. IT WAS FOR FUN! Taken from a classic film for those complaining, "Lighten up, Francis". :) And FYI (and a Public Service Announcement for your listeners), Outlier USA also makes barrels for the Howa 1500 line. I received my 6.5CM a few weeks ago but haven't installed it yet. The important part of this message is, the actual lead times are closer to 16 weeks, not 8 weeks like their website states. It might be more accurate now, as I understand they recently made some company improvements which may have caused the delayed production. However, during my wait I attempted to contact the company several times without any response. I was so nervous I began to think I got scammed! Not the best customer service, and I'm so glad I was able to see you use the barrel, and I can see it action! I feel as if I have the X-Ring's stamp of approval!!! Keep doing what you're doing. Best,
In addition to admiring your attempt at making a long range rifle affordable to Joe and Jane Average, I love how you picked a young lady to shoot your build. As someone who informally coaches women in Houston to bring them into shooting, I believe that bringing our daughters and sisters (I am an old man) into shooting is the way to keep our Second Amendment rights intact and our sport alive in the future. Thank you, sir. Stay blessed always!
Had me grinning ear to ear. Love to see young shooters like her. Have found young girls listen and implement what you show them the best. Great job Annastine.
The haters are going to hate. Common sense should tell you what kind of series this is and that you’re trying to get more people into the sport that don’t have 10k burning a hole in their pocket. I enjoy the content.
Subscribed. I hunt, reload and also shoot long range at Dead Zero and Strategic Edge. I’ve been watching this content for a while but this series got me hooked.
Ray, this video was the best of the three. Annastine was a good padawan, listened and followed through on the instruction. You certainly proved your point and it gives me hope that one day I can achieve similar goals. I understand the desire to give the rifle to a Patreon member but perhaps you might consider gifting it to Annastine, as it would mean a lot to her.
This video totally reassures me that I have done things the right way as a newbie for getting into long range PRS - I am still new and still learning.. but I started off with a Rem 700 Heavy Barreled action 24" 1:8 twist build in 6.5 Creedmoor with an MDT chassis and it did not cost me an arm and a leg! I wanted a dedicated 1000yrd rifle to gain my experience on as well as being able to reload for all while not breaking the bank.. before jumping into my next build which will be a true 1 mile rifle in either 7PRC or 300 Norma Mag where I will cut no corners and I will feel much more confident in my more costly investment that will be worth every penny! I will be trying the pre-fit barrel on my next build.. and I really like the look of that out Outlier chassis with the built in Arca rail!
Thanks Ray doing this video series cause I've wanted to get into long range shooting for a long time . Thanks to Annastine's dad for letting her do this video . Congratulations to Annastine on doing some very impressive shooting . Good luck young lady . Ray you said you're going to give away this rifle to someone on your patreon . I think a lot of the viewers will agree with me , I'd love to see you give that rifle to Annastine .
I have custom builds that cost many thousands of dollars that shoot amazing. I hunt with a Remington 770 that I got for 150 bucks at a pawn shop that shoots my hand loads quite well. There is no barrier to entry for fun in shooting sports. Good for you, Ray!
Hi Ray, great video, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge. Those that said you couldn't, you showed you could! Great stuff, keep it up. From the UK, cheers Rich
Learned an important lesson from this video, something that I have yet to do and often question but never received an answer! Grabbing the scope to hold cant!
Great video Ray! Thats how you build confidence in young shooters. I love the haters saying 6.5 CM isnt "enough" for 1 mile. Pretty certain its one of only a few factory loaded short action cartridges that is still supersonic at a mile.
Thank you Ray. You taught more than that beautiful girl.. Me as well... It was very helpful indeed.. I Appreciate your knowledge and COMMITMENT.. well done!
Ray, this is exactly what I need to get started in PRS style shooting. The budget is perfect for me. I’m left handed and Savage one of the few who make a left handed action. Would you be able to pass along a specific parts list, as I don’t want to acquire the wrong parts, type of Axis, barrel, brake etc. Great content, thanks
I love your content. I have several Arken scopes and think they are great scopes for the price. I also ordered a chassis and a few barrels from Outlier after watching your video.
I did get to learn something about the range and adjusting the scope. But that is a lot of Barrel! She did an awesome job at shooting and her instructor was great too!
It amazes me how little it takes to upset some people. Thanks for the series. Needless to say I'll be checking out Outlier. Great content. Thanks, Be Safe
How can anyone get upset about any of this…Go outside and take a walk or something. As the father of three little girls, this is an outstanding series.
Ray that was phenomenal ,to see that young ladies face when she rang steel at distance was priceless , talk about fun for you and her. just a thought, instead of giving that rig to a patreon member give it to that young lady!!!!!!!
Man she killed it. Funny that I saw this today. I was gonna take my daughter to shoot my long range 6.5 today but a front came in with 15 mph winds. Didn’t think it was ideal for her first then.

Great work on the video! My bro has .308 savage that we wanted to throw another barrel on and get him out shooting more.
I completely agree. They are upset that you can buy a $500 rifle and shoot out to a mile. As opposed to an $8000 set up.
This commenter is clearly not surrounding himself with elite shooters
None of the real elite shooters I have squadded with would ever make fun of or look down on another shooters gear especially a new shooter. Maybe the want a be elite would comment but not the real deal elite. If you can sign up for a reagional match in the central region I promise you Dale Rhodes, Matt Carouso, Dan Jareke, Kyle Marsh, Jeremy Vonglahn and many many more will take you under their wing and make you as good as your self motivation will take you. Texas plinking 1000 yds with a Mosin-Nagant he paid $85 for with a fixed 10power scope
Absolutely zero explanation needed. Totally love the series.
Thank you !
Ray don't ever apologize to some clown that can't do what you do so they're mad keep up the good work.
Thanks rockcrusher! I appreciate that.
Annastine's dad realizing what she wants for Christmas now! 😳😁
She did phenomenal 👏👏
Ray I think you made her day. What a great ambassador you are for the sport and what a great student and quick study she is. Great job.
She did fantastic 👏👏👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲
The patience and control was beautiful to see.
Could she be the next Lena M. ??
My goodness that girl is a natural rifle shooter. Very impressive performance. Big shout out to her Dad for his sanction and encouragement and to Ray illustrating once again his incredible knowledge in competitive shooting and how to wrest the best out of a budget rifle set up.
I fully support instead of giving this to a viewer you give it to her
totally agree!! was thinking the same myself.

Well said 18echo and thank you for the comment. 👍🏼
Having fun is the important part.

A good example of what patient and clear instruction should look like. Ray makes a very good instructor.
First time I’ve seen a custom rifle built on the back of a tailgate!!! lol
This is probably one of the best, most descriptive step by step process of putting a rifle together!!!
Great job man!!!
Fantastic video. Shout to a dad that is spending time with his daughter outdoors.
Excellent series! It's nice to see that the girl shooting doesn't have any bad habits yet that i saw...

Absolutely stellar 👌 Thanks for instructing that young lady in the proper technique, and she demonstrated her instruction perfectly! Well done all!!
She is a fantastic person at listening and following instructions. Even though I have some expensive rifles I love to see these "budget builds" out and about and doing work.
First time watching your channel. I want to express my respect to you for helping this young lady experience the pleasure and excitement of PRS shooting. Much respect for you and your endeavors. You are a good man.
Thank you MrSteelin and thank you for watching the channel!
It is refreshing to see a young person handle a difficult task in a professional manner.
This bodes well for the future of the shooting sport.
VERY impressive. Anistine did a great job. Also very excited about the Arken barrels. Need more info on the Arken barrels please Ray. Thanks.
I loved what you did with the axis! Don't pay attention to the complainers there just jealous that they can get on target that fast. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more of this type of challenge
Outstanding video! God bless you. America needs more men like you, and so do the children. Keep teaching.😇
love the fact you can see the full bullet arc at the 974 shots
Loved the series, for a guy on a budget, very good information and showing that it can be done without spending a ton.
Thank you!!!
Awesome job on teaching the young lady. Great shooting and following direction by her as well. Bout as good as it gets.
Thanks for the footage Ray. What I enjoy the most is not only can you shoot but you have the gift of explaining it to a new beginner to shoot and hit at long distance. I always learn something new on your videos. I’m grateful that you pass your knowledge to others.
This is absolutely one of the most wholesome videos I've watched in a while. Outstanding, kid!
Thank you RAY! Yes, Anistien has asked when we’re getting one lol Thank you again for such an amazing opportunity!
I love this series, very awesome to see someone with my budget can get into this.
I loved watching this. So awesome teaching her some fundamentals.
I love that chassis as well. I've been thinking of putting my 6.5 Bergara in a chassis.
More great stuff Ray ! You are getting more young folks interested in shooting long range

Keep doing what you're doing.
Best,
Nice job young lady and as always a wonderful video Ray, you are a great teacher
Ray, i love your content! It keeps on getting better and cant wait until your channel gets 1 million subscribers.
Great video as usual. I still don’t understand how this channel doesn’t have a million + subscribers. One of the best firearm channels on RUclips.
Great job helping that young lady. and the build is very interesting. Thanks for sharing! Great Job!
Had me grinning ear to ear. Love to see young shooters like her. Have found young girls listen and implement what you show them the best. Great job Annastine.

Thank you! Great video I have been trying to find a good video on the outlier barrels!
As a relative new shooter, your videos are the best. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work.

The absolute coolest video I have seen in a while. To see your excitement Ray and hers is just touching. My hat off to you sir.
Awesome job and to heck with anyone who has a problem. Great job on the trigger and great job as coach.

Glad to see you teaching younger people. Thanks for this series. Hope your health is great.
Thanks Ray doing this video series cause I've wanted to get into long range shooting for a long time . Thanks to Annastine's dad for letting her do this video . Great video, Ray! Getting the next generation of shooters involved is super important.
I have custom builds that cost many thousands of dollars that shoot amazing. I hunt with a Remington 770 that I got for 150 bucks at a pawn shop that shoots my hand loads quite well. There is no barrier to entry for fun in shooting sports. Good for you, Ray!
Awesome series!! The young lady did a great job and had great instruction. Great job Ray.
Damn nice rifle for the price. And the kid did a good job. 👍🏻 Good vid.
Fantastic. Great information on shooting and some quality products. Didn't know it was their company. Thank you!
Another great video, I’m definitely going to check out those barrels, they seem exceptional for the price!! Thanks for sharing
I admire your no nonsense style and common sense. Much respect for your patience and teaching style. Thumbs down to the naysayers. You’re awesome!
Excellent video. I really enjoyed your patience and coaching with Annastine. I’ve watched several of your videos and this one was the best so far.
Hi Ray, great video, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge. Those that said you couldn't, you showed you could! Great stuff, keep it up. From the UK, cheers Rich
Love you did all that on the tail gate of your truck. Great series thanks.
Learned an important lesson from this video, something that I have yet to do and often question but never received an answer! Grabbing the scope to hold cant!
It works for many competitors in the PRS game, however do not put a lot of pressure on the scope itself.👍🏼
Absolutely the best content I've seen on the internet. Thanks Ray
I generally don’t subscribe… just did! The coupon code works. I ordered for my Savage before I finished the video!!!
Thank you
Thank you Douglas and welcome to the channel! 👍🏼
Sale is gone. only part of my stock came. to get the rest of the parts now is almost an additional $600
Great job Annastine!!! What a natural!! I know your dad is proud!! Congratulations!!!!
I loved part 1 and 2 - good stuff and a great experiment - knowledge gained! 🙂
Forgot to say I love part 3 as well. Nice work sir.
Great video Ray! Thats how you build confidence in young shooters.
I love the haters saying 6.5 CM isnt "enough" for 1 mile. Pretty certain its one of only a few factory loaded short action cartridges that is still supersonic at a mile.
Love this video and my Savages. Would be very interested in been able to get those barrels in Canada. Thanks for what you put out for us all to enjoy
That was very cool! Showing the young lady to long range shooting. She seem to be a natural at it.
Excellent video. Awesome 3 part series. Anastasia did an amazing job 👏. You run a top tier channel Ray.
Thank you Ray. You taught more than that beautiful girl.. Me as well... It was very helpful indeed.. I Appreciate your knowledge and COMMITMENT.. well done!
Thank you Hennie!
Bravo Annastine, Congratulations!!! Enjoy Yourself
Ray...."The Professional!!" Excellent job coaching her up.
That’s incredible. You are an awesome instructor Sir.
That’s awesome. It is a very large barrel.
Great videos! Love all your content!
Thank you, Ray.👍
That was awesome to see you teach her and succeed! Always great content
Excellent video!!😊👍🏼
Love this series! Got me looking at building an outlier bolt gun in the future.
Good job guy that was really nice. I wish I had half Rays energy
It amazes me how little it takes to upset some people. Thanks for the series. Needless to say I'll be checking out Outlier. Great content. Thanks, Be Safe
You’re videos are awesome! 👌
Love it!! Great work Ray!
That was so great Ray have some believable that girl was so so good I appreciate you doing that for that girl
Man she killed it. Funny that I saw this today. I was gonna take my daughter to shoot my long range 6.5 today but a front came in with 15 mph winds. Didn’t think it was ideal for her first then.
First off, this was awesome to watch. Second, I feel lik I could afford this hobby now!
Nice job Ray and Company!🎉
Holy hell thank you! For that coupon code! Bestpart im from cove TX. Just placed an other for a 26in 6.5creedmoor. Wish they had 6.5x47 lapua
