Ray, seriously the guys at Begara are awesome for inviting this group into their academy. They no doubt knew your and Gavin's backgrounds fairly well just from the awesome stuff you two post and have posted for years now. I remember sending you an email to inquire about the long range class just pre pandemic. I was so nervous about taking a course from a master like you, and IIRC, Rick was maybe going to assist you. Then came the pandemic and all hope was lost for that class. In 2020-21 within a span of 12 months I underwent 5 major surgeries on my left hip. Yeah, a botched simple hip replacement got me good. It dang near killed me. Now I walk like a 95 year old and don't have what it takes physically to even ponder a long range class out on the range somewhere. I was unfamiliar with the other guys, but what a cool group to bring in. The lodge looked like a 5 star resort and the views, just wow. Thanks for sharing this 2 parter, I really enjoyed it. Great shooting too. 1 mile, 1.5+ miles, that's just so awesome to me. Cheers from Chicago
Thank you TheRange. I actually remember that time and remember your inquiry. Much has changed since then for both of us but I am glad you are still here and getting along. Day by day my friend. This was definitely one of most memorable group of guys that I have had the pleasure to spend a few days with in Wyoming. Thank you again for watching and stay healthy and eat well. 👍🏼
I've got the HMR Premiere Pro in 300PRC. Rifle shot great, then started to throw fliers. Inspected the regular stuff and noticed the action screws were backing out and the action was bound up on the one in the rear because the pillar was drilled at a slight angle. The barrels and actions on these things are amazing, but sometimes putting them in a stock that works perfect for a smaller chambering doesn't end up working so well for a magnum. That said, after redrilling the rear pilar and bedding the whole action this is my number 1 Rifle. Really confident in it. Manage 3 shots touching at 400 yards several times with it and an EC-Tuner using a 220Gr ELD-X handload. I've got a Fierce mountain reaper in 7PRC that can shoot half MOA but can't even come close to the same consistency and that thing was over double the price. Would love to see more offerings for the premiere barreled action (like 7PRC) so we can put these things into our chassis without having to pay for a stock we don't plan to use. Thanks for the video - beautiful range!
I've had great luck with bergara for the most part minus one rifle that had multiple issues. We sell a bunch of them and the only issues I've really seen come up multiple times is action screws being loose. The problem child is a 300wm MG lite
It's not a short range either.. You can't get away with filming on top of the hill in to make the wind look bad and then shooting targets 50 yards behind it in the shelter. Kinda like holding up your fish right close to the camera for the picture and standing 2 yards behind it. 🤣
Great video and top notch shooting! Can't wait to see some more hunt footage. I'd really like to see how you set up for different shooting positions when hunting, but can't wait to see the elk hunt no matter what!
What a great experience Ray. Absolutely loved the content and what an amazing site. I was completely absorbed in the video. What a great time and great bunch guys. You know it’s a good watch when you find yourself disappointed that is finished. Look forward to the next. Cheers Ray

Fantastic video Ray. I have a B14HMR in 6.5C that I absolutley love! I handload for it of course. It doesn't seem to be picky on projectiles though I've yet to shoot the 95 grain VMax. I'm limited on distance I can shoot to 500 meters. That rifle makes busting clay pigeons at that range super easy. Thanks again!!

Fabulous video and content Ray. Impressive that there were at least five hits out of 30ish shots! Having watched your channel am not surprised though! I love the fact that there seemed to be no egos - just a common unity to get everyone on steel! Nice!
Exciting news to hear you will be doing a few hunting episodes. Hope to be here when you hit 1 million subscribers- your content deserves it. I watch all the RUclips you were with in Evanston and your content is by far the best out there!!
Great couple videos, looked like a lot of fun. I have followed these other guys on RUclips as well before. I also shot with Zach at a PRS match my club River Bend in GA. I am also doing my first elk hunt in Idaho this September and have only deer hunted in GA so looking forward to trying it.
A hit indicator on target could really help, (sometimes) love to shoot long distance and had days where my son would go down range shy of a 1 mile, let alone 1.5 miles for you guys where the mirage is so bad the truck would blur right out. Wait for a cloud to pass in front of the sun and have a small window where the mirage would dissipate enough to see the target again. Good shooting and good times with some awesome shooters in this video.
That high wind hold overs, in 15 plus mph wind, at 1.5 miles was just amazing!!! What a sense of accomplishment and care of skill sets to be able to pull that off, predictably..
Awesome video. Ive been subscribed to Gavin for yrs now but I love LR 1km, a mile etc. So ive subscribed to the rest of the group & look forward to learning more. Regards from 🇦🇺 🍻
I have been to Evanston Wyoming on five deer hunts and it is a challenging to shoot there because of one factor= WIND!! I have killed several animals at long distances over the years but my most difficult shot ever was at 450 yards in a 25 mile an hour wind hold.
Oh, and by the way, the past several videos, have been put together at such a high standard of quality that it is noticable. Please note, that doesn't mean your older content was not good quality... I am just saying, whatever you are doing, I am sure, costs allot more money to do, and very likely to consume allot more time, which is time away from family and friends.. As for myself, I sure hate to see so many hunting channels do "hunting" stuff, simply because I prefer the challenge of Matches & also because hunting is overly-simplified,...cheating if you will, or, even laziness, with the equipment & tech being so widely used on poor old critters just trying to survive out there. Hunting in my day, being sixty yrs. old, was a challenge - ALOT of hiking, stalking, & walking - ZERO/0 machines & comforts-of-a-home blinds, not too mention no baiting, .....was just the normal way of hunting back then which is still the only way I will hunt, that said, personally I will still seek out the Match type channels,......gonna miss your previous content Ray, I really enjoyed it.
Hey Eric! I really appreciate your comment and it is duly noted. I’m not going to turn it into a hunting channel by any means. I just might add some here and there just like I do with the vacation videos and kooky videos on electric bikes and daily stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love firearms and shooting and always will, but I do like to share other stuff as well. There is more to this upcoming Elk hunt than you can imagine but I will be documenting the event the whole step of the way. 👍🏼
