Hopefully do a little backyard racing when my cousin Justin Darnell comes down from yankytown in a couple of weeks. Nothing but 2 or 3 days of pure destruction I'm sure. Hope you like this vid, really enjoying this flying thing my Pop introduced me to.

I'm actually an amateur honestly been flying since spring 2020 my dad is the master while I am just a journeyman. And we almost exclusively fly at our property which is pine woods. Thanks Arnd

Believe it or not, I cannot do power loops yet.. last time I did one I ended up on top of a tree. Keep at it thanks.

The 3rd-person view from chasing is awesome! Both pilots are so skilled. I have a DJI FPV, too. Thought I was OK, but have to say no way mine could survive the woods!
Yes I broke mine months back. The clip is in my hard knocks video. It's tough to fly in the woods I've crashed so many times.
Damn this looks like a blast, I need find more people close to me that are into drones. This stuff is so much fun!
Thanks, yeah you do. Luckily I have my dad to fly with and to fix my stuff I have no clue how to do electronic repair. We fly liads in the woods and it's fun but hard on you and your drone.

Thanks Slice. Yeah I've broken the fpv like 3 times already, all the left front arm snapped. It's been in the hangar for about 7 months now. Been having fun flying the kopis and the rekon.

@@benrollin1207 Thanks Ben, I just bought my first DJI FPV drone and spending time practicing. I downloaded simulators to practice also. I'm your dad's age. Started late, but its never too late to start.

@@elibello5306 I personally never have touched a simulator in my life. I've been lucky enough to have someone fix my drones for me if I've ever crashed them. It doesn't take long to get good at flying drones. I've only been flying for about 2 years myself and my dad about double that

Practice and a lot of walking sums it up. I've only been flying for a little over a year now. It's a great hobby it let's you see the world from a different prospective.

Thrilling video and amazing flying skills.. what's the downward facing light shown in some of the clips on the belly of the drone in front? Is that a third party light or something the dji fpv drone comes with? Thank you
Something the drone comes with. Think of it as a spotlight. It automatically turns on if it gets dark enough or you can even turn it on with a switch. Thanks!

Yeah me and Tig are pretty ballsy.. Thats probably the reason why my Dji Fpv is still broken to this very day.

Suprisingly the signal holds well through our woods as they are only thin pine trees. But the digital fpv signal is still very strong. It just gets worse on summer days, especially wet ones.

Is that full acro mode? I'm quite confused, as that DJI FPV seems stabilized (and I could almost confirm this when it crashes). What rates are you using? thanks
As far as I know it was on full acro aka no stabilization. Thats how we always fly

@@benrollin1207 cool. I’ve got myself the Dji fpv. Just had my first little manual flight. Deffo need much more practise.
I’m struggling with where to fly it as it’s really loud.
There’s a good spot a few miles up the road, where there’s not many people, but I’ve not really flown manual anywhere else yet.
Cruising in Normal and Sports mode is fine, but not confident in manual anywhere else yet.

Nope full manual. Yeah next time you are in NC give us a shout. Be warned though our drone course puts most pilots through the gauntlet.

Do you need any mods to fly that deep in the woods?
No just make sure your drone had a good atenna on it. I fly mostly stock. No but what you will need is a lot of time skill patience and of course a pair of strong legs to fetch it after you've crashed for the ten thousandth time. Thanks ben

And what do you gain by having a non-stock antenna, range, better penetration?

Hello my DJI FPV get crazy when I put on it the gopro. I tried both in Sport mode than in Manual mode but nothing change and motors get hot.. How to solve this problem? Thanks

pretty good as long as you switch it to the lower bitrate and of course after a rainstorm the range is decreased some.

@@benrollin1207 Didn't Know that in manual the light in the bottom of the drone turn's on when near the ground... i know that feature is only enabled when in normal or sport mode, to let the sensor on the bottom of the drone see the terrain ?_?
@@pierok4223 Its not about distance to the ground, at least me and Tig don't think. I think it has something to do with the amount of darkness your camera detects. We've always flown in manual and it works like that especially when we fly into the dark woods but it turns off when you fly into the light. Though we may be wrong
@@benrollin1207 I must retry, because when i use the drone i don't see it in real time cause i'm using the google. Btw i know that the light light's up to help the bottom sensor, in dark conditions, reconize the terrain, but i remember that sensor is used only in sport and normal mode, and is disabled in manual. that sensor is only for making the drone hovering in place, by looking at the terrain, feature enabled only in sport and normal. didn't know it light up even in manual mode. what a waste of battery
