OK, since you asked for it, I'll give it to you. They "nailed it" live with 1) Live performance of THE CHAIN 1982 and 2) Live performance of SILVER SPRINGS in 1997. Sooo many more...
One of Nicks best songs. The lyrics hit hard: 'You want your freedom? Well who am I to keep you down'. Good rule to live by; don't try to hang on to someone who isn't committed to you. Heart ache lays down that road.
@@nanadeborah8717 Not according to Stevie. She said she cheated 2 or 3 times and he always forgave her. She bragged in the early 80s that while one could never trust a Rock star to be faithful she never worried about that with Lindsey because he was too crazy in love with her. She objected to the packing up/shaking up lines because she said she never shacked up with any one else - which meant living with someone else - not cheating. LOL In the end though she wanted her freedom. When she wrote Silver Springs she was already with Don Henley - she was just upset Lindsey started to date - said it made her ill to see him with another woman.

Not only is Stevie in the R&R HOF with Fleetwood Mac but also as a solo artist. So yes she has quite a catalog of solo and duets available. My favorite duet is Leather & Lace with Don Henley of the Eagles.
Love this live version. Stevie in all her greatness! Rumours is one of my all time favourite albums. You just press play. Stevie’s solo work is phenomenal, my personal favourite song is “ Rooms on Fire”, also “Edge of Seventeen “ is great. Thanks for the reaction today! Merry Christmas!
Rumors is a phenomenal album. Bought it in 1977 for Go Your Own Way but after listening to the whole album every track is just fantastic. Stevie is rock royalty!
So many great songs!!! Stevie Nicks at her finest. She has multiple solo albums. Her first solo single was called "The Edge of Seventeen". She was at the height of her power. Mandatory listening. 🙂 Fleetwood Mac had 3 vocalists. Stevie's songs were the biggest hits, but Lindsay Buckingham is an amazing artist. His song, "Go Your Own Way", from "Rumours", is stupendous. And Christine McVie has beautiful songs as well. One of my favorite Stevie Nicks songs is a lesser known one from their album "Tusk". It's called "Angel".
This is the only song that ever went to #1 on the billboards. Stevie wrote this one. She is very proud of that, considering that Lindsey and Christine wrote some really great songs, too.
1977, my college dorm on a Friday afternoon, every room with a turntable had their vinyl out, most with friends down the hall and snuck in beers.... the musical potpourii filled the floors, usually in preparation for heading to the college bars in town (18 was the drinking age in MN) - why is it still the music I'm drawn to? Because it is SO DAMN GOOD! - Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Hall and Oats, Peter Frampton, CCR, Foreigner, Kansas, Head East, Electric Light Orchestra, Eagles, Pablo Cruise, Steve Miller Band, Commodores, James Taylor, CSN, Heart, ABBA, Elton John, Aerosmith, Queen, Supertramp, Boz Scaggs, Bee Gees, Bread, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Pure Prarie League, The Floaters, KC and the Sunshine Band, Bay City Rollers... Music that has stood the test of time. I appreciate you "kids" enjoying it. Thank you.
This is a 💎!!! Another great song written by her. I love her voice!!!! STAND BACK is a great solo song by her. Her and the great guitarist Lindsay Buckingham had a relationship. This and other songs are related to it aftet after it ended. Lindsay has a great voice. Had a big solo hit in 81, Im in Trouble, great vibe. The whole band is very talented!!!
I was so into them during this period, '77. Gold Dust Woman on the same album Rumours is my favourite from that album. I still have that record album in my cabinet next to me, never got to see them live back then, but was lucky enough to see Stevie Nicks years later. She was fantastic. Stevie has collaborated with other musicians, first that comes to mind is Tom Petty, they did Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, really great song. Watch the live version (30th Anniversary Concert).
Interesting how loss of a romantic relation and the turmoil can bring out such creativity. Then to have the man you're singing about playing it and singing harmony right next to you.
Nailed the reaction, congrats! Can't wait till you do The Chain. The 1982 live version is incredible, studio is impeccable. The back story is this song was written for he guitarist, her very recent ex. The whole Rumours album recording back story--deep dive is maybe the most intriguing in rock history! The music is well up to the task!
Stevie and Kenny Loggins duet Whenever I Call You Friend.❤. Gold Dust Woman❤Sara❤Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You❤ I could go on! Yep I’m a fan since the ‘70s❤
Other great Fleetwood Mac songs: Sara, Gypsy, The Chain, Gold dust Woman, Silver Springs (live from the Dance). Christine has great songs #1 fav is “Songbird” absolutely beautiful. Also “Everywhere”. From Lindsey: Never going back again, Second hand news, Big Love. They have a deep catalog. Also Stevie has solo work and duets that are great. With Don Henley “Leather and Lace”. With Tom Petty “Stop dragging my heart around”. With Kenny Loggins “Whenever I call you Friend”. These are off the top of my head lol
We grew up with the best music! I'm sure you will adore *"Gypsy"* by Stevie. Make sure it's the offical video version! Merry Christmas to you & your family @Saeed🕊️ God bless 🕯️
Late to the party, on vacay! 🥳 Saw Stevie with FM and solo, White Winged Dove tour way back when. "Dreams" is probably her best song, but "Rhiannon" will always be my fav. "Edge of Seventeen" and "Stand Back" solo Stevie, and she does duets with Tom Petty and Don Henley, crazy times back then with her in the band FM and branching out . ✌🏽
My friend and I both worked in the oil patch in Alberta and we loved music. He was sent to Nepal to set up a camp when this album came out and I remember telling him "wait till you get back & hear this ". Couldn't send him cassette or disc because he was so remote. Loved rubbing it in during our correspondence ( snail mail) back in 1977. One of the best albums of all time.
Thanks for this reaction. I've never seen this live version and I'm reminded of why me and a few million other men were in love with Stevie. She's special.
😊❤ Hi Saeed! I always love your reactions! ❤ You are able to dig pretty deep into the lyrics on a first listen! The brief background on the song is it's about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, the lead guitarist in the white suit to her left. They had been together since high school. During the creation of the Rumors album the whole band was going through break ups! So, Stevie actually wrote this song in response to a song that Lindsey wrote about their relationship! There's a particular lyric that really ticked her off!! 😮 It's, "shacking up, packing up is all you want to do" from 'Go Your Own Way'. Stevie also another song about their relationship, 'Silver Springs' it's one of my all time favorites of hers!! The live version from the 1981 'The Dance' tour is incredible!! 😃🤩😍 You can cut the tension between Stevie and Lindsey with a knife!! It's absolutely beautiful and frickin powerful!! 😃 Luv ya! 😊❤❤
My absolute favorite song is ….Whenever I Call You Friend..by Stevie Nicks and Kenny Loggins!!! Give this one a listen! Landslide is another favorite of mine.
Such a beautiful song 👌🏻👌🏻 The Coors had a hit with this in the late 90s. You should check out some of their songs. "Breathless" is probably their biggest hit. Stevie Nicks has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame twice. Once for her work with Fleetwood Mac and again for her solo work
One of my favourite songs ❤ song I actually hear when I sleep. Wake up then 😂 oh by the way Stevey wrote this song to Lindsey after one of their breakup. Can’t be easy for him standing there singing it though.

More interesting is that Stevie said she wrote the opening lines from Lindsey's POV - not her own.

Rumors is a perfect album honestly. "The Chain" is my favorite but I'll happily listen to the whole thing without skipping.

Nice version, but I actually prefer the studio version. At least for the first time hearing it anyway. Great reaction.
The best female voices of the 70's are Karen Carpenter, Stevie Nicks, Annie Haslam of Renaissance, and Ann Wilson of Heart!
All good, but I’d say Linda Ronstadt’s and Bonnie Raitt’s voices were both better.
