I would love to see you make a video about my favorite book of all time, which is Stephen Pressfield - The War of Art! :)
Love Life Will definitely keep that in mind! :)
Great representation of six pillars! I watched another guy who explained these 6 points in like 20 minutes & it was boring as hell. Thanks
***** Haha, thanks brother!
FightMediocrity YOU DO AWESOME WORK, EVERY VIDEO I'VE SEEN YOU HAVE DONE IS SUPERB! PROFESSIONALLY DONE AND THE MESSAGES ARE THE VERY BEST! CONGRATULATIONS!
“If my aim is to prove I am “enough,” the project goes on to infinity-because the battle was already lost on the day I conceded the issue was debatable.” - Nathaniel Branden. Really awesome quote from the book. Thank you for such a great video :)
I've 10 months clean . I'm in what we call recovery. This is all recovery! Cool. The first pillar of self esteem is the serenity prayer!
Im in recovery too, coming up on 1 year. Anyways, just wanted to say "hi" to a fellow recovering addict like myself:-) Stay pushin. #1Mo24
Kyle Medeiros Congratulations to all of you guys!
yeah keep pushin ^_^ we are bound to be successful in life.
I am 5 years one day at a time. keep on keepin on...
Kyle Medeiros Hi kyle Iam 7 months , thats exactly what I was thinking when I was watching the video on he seven habits of highly effective people.and how today I have all he traits of high self esteem , isnt it just wonderful
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”
― Sharon Salzberg
one more, stay away from toxic people...
Very difficult
FRANCISCO HUIZAR yes
That includes work environment
The 6 pillars transform your relationships with toxic people. You don't attract their toxic ways of being. And you can be clear and conscious. I don't need to stay away from toxic people because they know that they need to treat me with respect.
only if you stay in a desert island can do this
I want to love this but it lost me on the 5th pillar... Why is it that we have to be entrepreneurs to live purposely? What is this passion for bashing those of us that keep the world running? Do nurses live without purpose? What about the person you buy your chai latte from in the morning? Is there no chance that they enjoy the smiles of the people they make drinks for a love their jobs?
Some of us are not cut out to be entrepreneurs, just like we are not cut out to be warriors... and the world is a better place for it. Be thankful next time your bin is emptied that there are people who are getting up and doing what needs to be done. I am certain that it is possible to do a "day job" and still live with purpose!
+Heather Hudson It's a good point, I think we need to find our purpose and be in alignment with that. For some, that might be to practice as a nurse, or as a clerk, or else.
That's a beautiful message. It's true sometimes it can come across as entrepreneurs have some sort of superiority complex which is self-esteem gone wrong. But I'm sure in this case the example of entrepreneurs was merely an example.
Even a nurse, who purposefully cares for a patient, willing to make a positive change in someone's life is practising purposefully. I think it's more to do with intentiality than the profession. It may be that for an entrepreneur they're fighting for their life so if they don't behave purposefully they'll get slaughtered (warrior example). Thus this is cultivated quicker.
But likewise a nurse who works hard at her art, doing things with the right intentions and not merely out of habit but with a purpose, the nurse is immediately providing and benefiting people in ways the entrepreneur may take years to.
+Heather Hudson Good point, but don't mix cause and effet. He took the example of entrepreneurs because statistically, a gooood portion of them is doing it because they follow "what they want to do" (some do it just in hope to get more money without any purpose). But that doesn't mean others can't do a "salary job" without purpose. Your nurse example is perfect. Same with hospital doctors, masseusse, pilot/steward, fisherman, IT tech, engineer, karate instructor and so on... ANYthing can be done with a purpose. And not only in jobs, but in everything in life.
Again, we are talking about jobs because it is easier to get "sucked in" a job (just for money to live) that has no purpose. That doesn't mean nobody can have a purpose at your job
Entrepreneurs have a free environnement that they can shape themselves, but if you can find something with a more structured environnement that has all you need, go for it! (in fact, it may be better for most of us)
+Heather Hudson I don't think he meant entrepreneurs in a physical sense. It is about living your life with a purpose. To do everything you do, because you love to do exactly what you are doing. Then it will shine through to your personality. You will be good at what you are doing, people will think that you are good, and you will be happy.
That is kind of, what a successful entrepreneur is doing. But you could be nurse too.
you're absolutely right but unfortunately we live in a juvenile culture where everyone wants to be the next richard Branson.
Very powerful Pillars to build & Live a Confident Life 👇👇👇👇
1. The Practice of Living Consciously - Always do things that help you to get closer to what you want to be or Get in your life.
2. Practice of Self-Acceptance: Improve what you can accept and what you can't
3. Practice of Self-Responsibility: Be Accountable For All decisions choices and actions
4. Practice Of Self Assertiveness: Know your boundaries (Not for potential but what you want to know for)
5. Practice of Your Personal Integrity
I haven't seen one of your video's in a long time... I'm kind of disappointed to check your channel and see that you haven't made one in almost a year. Whatever you're doing now, I hope it it's making you happy.... thanks for having made all these video's... they've been awesome :) take care!
Just found you. You take complex concepts, which are often difficult to practically apply, & turn them into simple, fun explanations. I will definitely be exploring the rest of your channel. Thanks!
EtherealLove Awesome! Thank you! :)
EXCELLENT work, I sent your link to my niece and nephew to assist them in their journey. My Buddhist practice helped me reinvent myself after a childhood of verbal abuse and I agree 1000% with how you have summarized and encouraged developing one's humanity.
F yes. Thank you for taking the time to create and share this. I was looking for videos to share with my young son. I want to build him up to allow him to live to his fullest potential and I've noticed his self esteem is starting to get in the way. I'm planning to show this to him tomorrow. Thank you Mr. Brandon, keep spreading the love!
I don't know how I stumbled across your video but I am so grateful. Thank you Thank you Thank you! You are awesome!!!
Should be a must film on all the schools!
i know you have a gf but you are a good person. thank you for these videos. i grew up homeless (actually homeless) and parentless, as feral as they come, and your videos save my life. although I went to Brown I don't know how do things like normal people. anyways thank you.
If you grew up homeless and alone, I believe you being here today is in itself big thing.
And I must dare to say to you, don't try to be normal. Its very similar to leaving your own comfortable house to live with your normal people under a single roof. think about it. You have to sacrifice lots of things, adjust to the needs of people and you just cant be you. Yes, initially it might seem fun, but soon the magic fades away.
In the same way, I highly suggest you to not try to waste time in 'fitting in'. Work on yourself all the time and make a purpose of your life that people would try to 'fit in' with you.
Wish you a great life ahead.
Kudos
Abhioxic.
Thank you Abhi Shah, I'm glad to hear that good advice. Very wise
I have a similar story 😊
The full audible book is here on RUclips, it has some good journaling exercises I'm eager to practice.
thought you're gonna say "The 4th pillar is the pillar of not half-assing.."
Aye i see you around here all the time bro
There is another pillar. And this pillar is love, especially self-love.
If you cant love yourself, you cant love others.
thank you sir
I have now watched several of your videos...Thank you for the education and enlightenment...and the laughs
John Cude Haha, awesome. Thanks John! :)

Rhyan Brah Awesome to hear that. Thanks! :)

Great video man. Visual summary of book helps a lot to get the core principles. Have ordered the book. Appreciate your efforts. Keep going.
I am 30 years old and I always thought self acceptance would stop me from improving. It caused me a very low self esteem and depression. I just recently start do understand and practice self acceptance.
Thanks for this. Really great value. I just started reading it, and I'm stoked for the journey.
Francisco Castillo Awesome. Thank you! :)
Your tips are enlightening.... thanks for sharing this video.
"How to have self-esteem"
Step 1: Have parents that love you.
Step 2: There is no step 2.
HAHA
+DallasGreen123 sad but true
This is so true.. I bet if you did a study on the self esteem of unplanned children as well they would have lower self esteem than their counterparts..
+DallasGreen123 You're right, poor self-esteem stems right there, in unworthiness due to kid's emotional wounds.
+DallasGreen123 Yeah, fatalism, things cannot change just stick your head in the sand and be sad - great idea!
Will start my practises asap! Thank you. Great video. You can even hear the confidence in your voice.
Dope! This is a thick book, which I bought and haven't read so for you to break it down in 7 minutes is great! Got the basics. Thank you!
great advice about working positivly
You nail it down brother! Much appreciated.
This video is brilliant. I'm going to link people to this in my next talk. Thank you.
Great work man, your channel will grow big sooner or later
David2 Laka Haha, thanks! :)
I've read a lot of the books you have videos on and I love to watch them, so I can get a good reminder of the core values of the book. This is a book I haven't read and I am definitely going to buy it ASAP and buy one for a friend. Thanks for sharing!
your videos are a bliss
Now i want to read this book
Wow! Great job on the animation of a legendary book!!
Ray Senegnats Thanks Ray!! :)
Brilliant video. It has made me think about my life and the notice of practice makes perfect. Cheers
I always wanted to read this book, but somehow never went around doing it. Thanks for summarizing it :)
I feel happy to find your vids
this really made me think of myself more. thank you!
Love it. I'm going to show this to my clients.
Thank you for this.
I really enjoyed this video. I would just like to point out that there are natural remedies for thinning hair. My hair went very thin at one point but I use a natural balm, I take natural supplements and the thickness in my hair has returned.
Thanks I need this.
Thank you. I needed to watch this today!
Britney McCarthy You're welcome, Britney! :)
Spot on! Thanks for the great video
That's a very helpful and well composed video. Thanks! In number 5 the comparison wasn't that clear to me, and it might be because it's presentation is a bit underdeveloped.
Ya Ha Thank you for the feedback.
Does this guy do a pod cast??
I wish right :D?
Your videos are totally useful!
I'm 56... Things went wrong in my life.. I use to have high self esteem.. but I messed up.. made big mistakes.. took wrong paths... ALL MY OWN FAULT... this is why I have low self esteem... Maybe these 6 pillars would work when I was younger.. but at my age things are different and I wish it wasn't. I have no skills anyone wants to hire.. I have no experience that anybody wants. I am overweight because I gave up... gave up on life. I do have physical problems.. I have bad sciatica that causes me pain just to walk to my car. I have Meniere's disease and slowly going deaf. I work for 10$ an hour because I spent 22 yrs in a career that died and nobody needs me anymore. I spent 2 yrs without a job trying to get back to what I once was.. and it never happened. I'm a loser... no matter what I do.. I fail... No woman wants a loser... I haven't even touched a woman in 7 yrs.. and the longer I go the more I feel that women don't want me. I tried everything to change this...I even moved to a larger city to try and find some kind of life. I tried dieting and working out.. I have depression and no energy..... I am messed up... and see no future. I am poor, alone with no family, never had children, no woman wants me, no friends.. I spend all my time Alone...waiting to die.
The practice of. I loved that. It's a daily thing :)
Truth, very good video, thank you!
thanks for this video, man. seems different from other videos I've watched. I hope I could build my self-esteem

What I need to regain more than anything is my health! The doctors don't seem to know what is wrong-I am weak and exhausted most of the time and I want to sleep and sleep! My condition is more than scary!
Thanks for the video
This is really helpful!
Great video! Which software do you use for creating these amazing videos?
Excellent stuff, thanks for doing these videos. I hope your channel gets more popular. I also like your name - I truly hate mediocrity and try every day not to be mediocre. Let me ask you something - do you do these videos to help others, or to really revise the concepts from each book, so that you really internalize them? Probably both - win win situation :)
Keep it up
CosmosVII Hahaha, good question lol. It's funny because I've probably learned more from this channel than anyone else. It's also funny because you will basically never see me try to change anyone's mind on anything (unless I can tell they're part of the maybe 5% if we were to be generous, who will know how to accept it). But it's a little different when you have a channel, and it's actually amazing. The only way you can change someone else is if they decide they want to change. With the channel, I don't have to impose myself on anyone (I'm too busy changing my own life), but everyone's already looking for change and improvement themselves. So it's really awesome. It really is a win-win in the end though like you said. :)
Pillar no.2
So I should try to compensate for my shortcomings? Doesn't that validate my feelings that I'm undersirable? Because those feelings are why I'm here in the first place.
Practice makes it right🔥🔥🔥
step one leave ur house and stop watching videos about self esteem why is this on my recommended videos
FightMediocrity I genuinely think you are the most badass person I have ever encountered on the internet. Brilliant with an awesome sense of humor, where can I learn more about you as a person?
There´s so much pseudo psychology in this channel... the B.S. flows so much...
+Juan G Could you elaborate please ?
I just recently got into the reading habit. And your videos have helped tremendously. I am not sure if you have posted it already, but do you have a list of books that you think everybody should read to live wisely or be happy? :)
This guy is super spoiled brat!
The only person you should ever compare yourself to is the person who you were yesterday.
What if the first person actually had responsibilities and no way out of the system? Is everyone privileged as the people who have the ability to make a choice? Plus, why would I listen to some 20 year old talk to me about life? Reported.
Hi Manny ! I think everyone has responsibilities but not everyone is managing them good so their life screw. People are thinking just about the problems they have and not about how to manage and solve them so they can have better life. You said 20 years old? As I can see this 20 years old guy is giving examples from his own life experiences with with support of his OWN review of the books that are read by thousands of people. The main problem is that people can't accept that someone is better then them. P.S. His work is not maybe aimed to people your age, so just move on :) Find something that can help you if you are looking for help, which is sure because you step here to watch the video :) All best !
Amazing content and very good channel ... Keep up the good work my friend! Kudos!
Whould be awsome if you had any ideas for people that need to take bipolar syndrom and adhd into consideration. Maybe you have such a video, i just feel like that's a big obsticle to get around. love the videos, got me into start reading sun tsu.
