@@lestaylor8873 Thank you kindly….. definitely some decent winter fishing for sure!! And yes, definitely hopefully meeting back up with those fish in a couple years!! 🤙👌😁🎣
If I remember correctly, you said you lived in Pennsylvania and fished streams in the area around your residence. While visiting some ex in-laws in Scranton back in the early 2000s, I got out and explored some small streams in the area. Unfortunately, almost EVERYTHING that looked really good was posted. I did finally find a nice stream running by a country road, so I hopped in and ended up catching a ton of wild brook trout, one was 15 inches. When I exited the stream and began walking back down the road, I saw posted signs everywhere along the stream, there just happened to not be any near where I entered. Lol Love your videos, man....keep em coming!
I did something similar. While fishing the Madison in Yellowstone, I was using single hook lures and unbeknownst to me was a fly fishing only stretch. No sign where I accessed. Crushed em. Released all but one.

I use both fluorocarbon and mono as leader material flyfishing. The advantages of fluorocarbon are more relevant with fishing dry flys by using the smaller sizes that tend to be more invisible to shy fish. Since I primarily euronymph either type of material works. The only advantage is invisibility in real clear water. I have recently switched to some of the newer braided mono lines on my spin fishing gear. Only problem with that is tying knots. I overcame that but I like the strength of the lower test lines.
@@edherrmann182 yeah I gave the fluorocarbon a try one time because I heard that the line twist was less in the winter months & in the colder weather, as it turned out, every time I would get a snag it would weaken the line where it came in contact with my rodtip eye and would therefore snap very easily either on hook set or on my next snag it would break very easily! 🥴🤷♂️ I immediately switched back to mono! 👍 As I mentioned, could have just been a bad batch, but mainly targeting bigger fish I wasn’t chancing it!
