I'm so down with the barbless hooks
Afternoon sir Great videos. Was watching the height of the corn as you were driving. For me, that means the season is coming to an end. In fact it has now but fortunately Alfred and I have a few videos still to show as it was an exceptional season for us. Will have to look and see if Pennsylvania has a closed period. The big browns are beauties, to be caught again. Hope health is where it should be! Thanks for the ‘scenery’, sincerely, brown trout guy
I've seen snow like twice when I was a kid. That's awesome 😎
Wow my stepmom used to tell me about these snapping turtles in PA😂 Glad he didn't take a chunk out of you. Would have been some good film though😂
Nice locations
I heard you when you said hot 🥵🔥 I hope I don't have to live in 🐦🔥Phoenix for much longer. But I'm pretty sure I will. It's like being a surfer and not being anywhere close to a beach. I love the scenery and your videos your a chill dude, Great stuff so I'm just going to voice type in comments on your videos for the algorithm You deserve it
It's heaven on a screen. Here's one for the algorithm Great video dude. Nothing to fish after work in this Phoenix wasteland enjoy that
So glad I found your channel dude. Got family from PA I've been out there. Man there is nothing to fish in Phoenix. All I have are these inner city canals that you watch homeless people bathe in while you fish. Desert wasteland I got to get out. Thanks for taking me out in your videos. Reminds me of the environment I'd rather live in
@@TylerChristoher Really appreciate the kind compliments Brother…… glad you’re enjoying my channel! 👌🤙😁🎣 Hopefully someday you can venture out of the Arizona area & get on some good fishing water man! Cheers bud & best of luck in your future endeavors! 👌🤙🎣
Appreciate the land and environment out there. Not much fishing in Arizona
Hey Dusty, What sunglasses do you like for low light situations, or do you use the same pair of glasses regardless of light. I know in the beginning you were talking trout handling, I don't know if you've ever done a video specifically on how to handle trout, best practices for catch & release, netting (and catching without a net. But that might be a really good video. With all your content, I'm sure you got plenty of clips. Especially for a lot of the beginners and novice anglers out there who aren't familiar and just getting into trout fishing. And also maybe a video on your favorite fishing tools & gear.
@@joebaggs78 I wear the Smith Redmond’s in the Yellow tint…… the work great in all light conditions, especially low light & overcast! 👌 Appreciate the tip on the content suggestion too, I can definitely piece together a “how to handle em” video!!!!!🤙😁 And I’ve actually already got a gear/tackle/setups vid! 👌 Check it out! 😊
Annville Pa? Just a guess.
@@koryfeister3492 Nope, not quite! Lol🤙😁🎣
Very instructional thank you
@@jyy9624 you are very welcome my friend! 🤙😁🎣
What size Mepps do you typically use?
@@TheJakeberry I pretty much exclusively run sizes 2 &3s🤙
That was Narly bro nice 👌
Never touched a beaver that I didn’t like.
@@tommyhunter1817 😂🤙😂
You in Pa.? Any new vids coming out? I need a fix! Take Care Dusty.
@@RBS314 Yep I’m in PA…… Hopefully can help you with that fix soon lmao…… going to try to put something together within the next week or so! 🤞🤙
Very cool. You deserve a 👍 and just got one from me . That is not a common thing at all , lol. Great catch and release
Great time watching. Some of us can't get out like we used to. Thanks for sharing.
@@mikehannan8932 It was my pleasure & I’m glad you’re enjoying! 👌🤙😁🎣
I’d be eating those fish.
@@marksheppard6498 this is precisely why I keep my spots secret👌
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 I don’t need YOUR spots. There are spots like that EVERYWHERE!
@@marksheppard6498 yeah man to each their own on whether they catch & keep or C&R…….. I just really enjoy catching the bigger ones & it’s kinda cool when you can build a cpl or even a few year history with some of them…… gives me a nostalgic feeling when I venture back to some of these spots….. there are a handful that I have like 4-5 years with! Pretty dang cool! 👌🤙😁🎣
Ideal location for nighttime, mouse lure fishing.
This why I wear camouflage when I trout fish.
Are trout that big, good to eat?
@@marksheppard6498 i would say not really….. probably borderline salmon flavor…… not only that this fish is probably in its teens, age wise, and once you remove it from the stream, it is gone forever🥴🤷♂️ Which is why I strongly promote Catch & Release 🤙👌🎣
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 In addition to the joy of fishing itself, I fish because I enjoy eating fresh fish. I bleed them out after I catch them and that greatly improves the quality of the meat. Large trout tends to be mushy for some reason.
@@marksheppard6498 yeah I enjoy eating Walleye, Panfish & Catfish but opt to release big trout…… you can’t catch a small stream 25-26” if you keep them when they’re 20-22”👌👌👌
Nice job killing that huge brown trout. Why do you have to keep it hooked and in the net for so long Jesus Christ just let it go next time
@@SavingPrivateRyanHands I guess killing it was the reason I caught it the next year…… Hooked for so long huh….. where do you think the hook is the whole time when a fly running light tackle or a spin guy with his drag set loose is fighting a fish for 5-10 minutes……… Exactly, in its mouth! 🎤👇 Listen I’ve gotten better at removing the hook quicker in the past cpl years, I’ve got content on my channel that spans from 2020 thru 2024 and like to think I’ve grown as an angler even in that short time span….. but if I happened to leave the hook in longer it’s because I’ve assessed that the hook was in a safe spot as not to damage/hurt/kill the trout!!! Honestly, the main reason that I ever kept them on the hook for a time period was for a photo op, simply because they are slippery critters and if they happen to flop out of your hand they don’t just peace out and you have another opportunity for a photo! But as I’ve previously mentioned, the hook is removed much faster in my newer content! 🤙 Tight Lines…..
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 doubt it
@@SavingPrivateRyanHands Wow…..Lol🤦♂️👋
second watch: loosen your bail😂
@@Trophy_Tracker_Nick Lol….. Nah I like to get them in the net quick….. too risky with small water structure & barbless🤙😁
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 barbless!yeah I take that back
@@Trophy_Tracker_Nick yup….. those Bigs get a little too frisky for a long battle! 🤙 I used to battle em! Some of my older content demonstrates this! 👌
I a spin fishing Creeker in Colorado. I'm just now getting into streamers on my spin rod. I'd love to hear you commentate more about your technique. I can understand your casting choices, and the twitching of the pole, but how are you fishing that streamer? What's it look like in the water? Your reeling speed and why? Nice vid man. Thank you!
@@Scott-Shot I really appreciate you tuning into my channel and thank you very kindly for your kind compliments! 👌😁🎣 Basically the streamers that I use are on a 1/4oz jig head, they sink fairly quickly to the bottom, which is where I generally like to let them sink to before I start jigging them back towards me. The colors I use basically imitate either a crayfish or a small baitfish….. I don’t retrieve very fast, pretty much when I feel weight, I set the hook, but occasionally I will see the take! 🤙😁
Hello Dusty, I'm interested in what kind of fishing line you use, manufacturer and durability, best regards Kamil
@@tata-fg9gy Hey there Kamil, I Thank you kindly for tuning in to my channel….👌😁🎣 I run 8lb Stren mono on my setups….. it’s very strong & does twist a little but I don’t run barrel swivels or anything, likely wouldn’t twist as bad if I’d run one of those! But this is the line that I use in every one of my videos!👌
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 thanks for the answer, unfortunately Stren lines are not available in Poland and I choose between P-Line and Sufix, finally I chose Sufix Super 21 and I hope it will be ok
What county you suggest??
Any of the counties in Central or North Central are a great bet! 👌🎣😍
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 thanks I'm doing a bit of research. New sub. !!
You're lucky it didn't bite a chunk out of your calf! Just think of how many trout that snapping turtle eats.
Wooooo. You’re lucky he didn’t latch on! 😳
You’re not kidding Sandy!!! We’ll call almost crapping my waders a Lucky take away on that one! 👌😂
Buddy just wanted to give you a surprise kiss.
Hey Dusty did you accidentally step on him or did he just attack? Cool clip😂
He came up behind me and smoked me in the back of the calf with his attempted bite, but luckily their mouths are up and down, so he wasn’t able to latch on🤞🙏🤞 Biggest turtle I’ve ever seen in the wild, and I would say he is reeking havoc on the trout population in that stream! 🤷♂️🥴
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Thanks, never saw one do that. Awesome clip man, almost as good as one of those big ole browns.🍻
Yeah I would of screamed like a bitch also 😂😂
Cool 😎
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Big old snapper I would’ve shit. Don’t know how you stayed so calm really lol
Oh yeah! This is LIVING!
That looks more like bass water than trout water.
I guarantee, rising, dingy water spells BUFFET to trout all all stripes, but especially browns. Watching you fish is like watching a hunting show where all they see is monster bucks. Are there no dinks in those creeks???
I caught an 18” brown from under an undercut bank on a creek in northwest Nebraska half that wide. When I set the hook, the creek was so small he literally jumped on the bank!! Jokers are amazing. Love browns.
Im not gonna take a photo, then immediately pulls out phone and takes a pic... 😅😅😂
There’s a difference between setting up my cam, taking that kind of time & snapping a quick phone pic! 👌
Excellent video man! I've caught lots of rainbows, steelhead, speckled and lake trout, but have yet to catch a brown!
Very nice…… Browns are definitely my Fav….. Brooks are fun too but harder to find in my area these days! Browns eat them! 🫤
A creek like that here in north Georgia would have 50 people on it, trash everywhere, and MAYBE a few 9” stockers.
I hear that…. That’s why I strive to keep my locations as secret as possible, I mean if someone recognizes one of my spots, then chances are they’ve already fished there & at that point hopefully they’re a like minded angler!! 🤷♂️🤞
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 yep. Google maps has ruined a lot of good fishing--and hunting.
Great videos and even better fish! Appreciate your videos and look forward to many more. Maybe we can head out together next season. You are welcome to visit up here north of the border anytime. Cheers, Brown Trout Guy
Super appreciate the compliments & invite my friend….. I’ll definitely consider that for sure, love exploring & finding new quality water! 👌😁🎣 Glad you’re enjoying my stuff though & looking forward to getting more content out for you guys soon! 🤙 Tight Lines & best of luck! Cheers 🍻
Holy smokes! Epic
Thank you kindly my friend!! 🤙😁🎣
That's making me look forward to fall and winter!
Absolutely my sentiments as well….. so much nicer catching them when the water is ice cold & they revive so much faster, and when you catch it right, the bite can be amazing! 👌🤙🎣
great brown catches!!
Evening sir….my fishing partner said I should look at your videos. He’s right. Very impressive. Awesome in fact. We’ve been lucky to catch some nice browns this season. 1st time with a go pro and my partner edits the segments. Great fun. Again, a wonderful channel. I’ve been able to get 51 videos including shorts in the past 2 years. Love the gp picture. Understand you’ve been under the weather. Hope that’s behind you. Cheers and thanks for sharing your site. Sincerely Brown trout guy
Good evening back to you my fine man….. greatly appreciate your kind compliments & glad you’re enjoying my channel! 👌🤙😁🎣 I’ll gladly give yours a checkout too!?🤙👌😁
Unreal the fish you have. I assume this is all private water? Got any brook trout up there?
None private…… I mean I have a few permissions on some properties that are posted mainly for hunting purposes but the large majority of water I fish is not posted as private property! 👌🤙
Amazes me you can fish a stream that small with a spinner.
Out of curiosity, which part about it amazes you? Fishing smaller caliber streams is kind of my bread & butter! I really enjoy fishing bigger caliber fish in smaller water! 👌🤙😁
I was thinking I couldn’t believe there weren’t some other trout in that hole. Now I know why. He eats them. I assume y’all don’t have chubs and suckers there.
Definitely one of the most EPIC trout I’ve ever had the pleasure of having on my line……. Check out the video where I catch him the next year….. he completely blew up & was undoubtedly my PB at that point & remains so to this day!! 👌🤙😁🎣
DUSTY RHOADS IS THAT GUY! I wish he was my dad!! I once saw him fight a black bear off of a wild brown. While he had another on the line!
😂😂😂…… Well the Most Interesting Man In The World is my Dad, so this adds up!!! 🤣😂🤣🤙
