What beautiful fish and great fishing. I even enjoyed the snow-which I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing in person for over two years. I’m in central North Carolina taking care of my mother, but this sure brings back memories of trout fishing with my wonderful dad in Maryland and New Jersey when I was growing up. Lost him in June 2020 and haven’t had the heart to pickup my rod since. Keep up the great videos! 🎣
Well maybe you should pick the rod back up in your dads name….. bet he would want you to get back on horse & go after some some of those big ones! He’ll sure be smiling down on you if you do! ☺️ Really appreciate the compliments & I’m glad you’re enjoying!!!😊👌😁🎣
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Wow, thank you for taking the time to respond with such kind words. You are right, too. He would definitely want me to get back out there. We were very pleasantly surprised by how good the trout fishing was in NJ (not at all what we expected). My dad was my best friend, but I’m thankful to have had him as long as I did-and grateful that he started me out fishing when I was about five. Thanks again for the great videos! 👍
Wow 🤩 what a start what an ending & everything in between what a great session Dusty 👌🏼😉😁 only got a couple of weeks to wait until Trout season starts I will go out a bit earlier if possible it’s actually quite cold atm but hoping for a nice mild day to get out I can’t wait take it easy Bro Tight lines 😉 ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼

@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 it’s a WHOLE different game. I just started last season. It’s not gonna happen overnight but once you hook & land the 1st one you might not go back.
Well I’ve been at this game for about 40 years now…… got a good early start thanks to my dad, as I am 44 now, but in past 20 years or since I’ve started fishing with spinners, I’ve learned basically how to target bigger fish primarily in smaller/medium sized streams….. once you learn this, you just basically put in the right amount of time into the right areas you’re all seeing the results! 👌🤙😁🎣🙌 I do fish all over the state though! 👌
Me again Dusty just wondering what those trout feed on in such a small creek 🤷🏼♂️ I’m lucky to catch fish that size in my local rivers easily 3/4 times bigger than this little treasure trove is there minnows 🤔👍🏼🏴
Yeah buddy, these small streams are loaded with a surplus of smaller bait fish which these bigger Browns just dine on….. Creek Chubs, Sculpin, Shiners & crayfish are some of their Favs! 👌🤙👍
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Thanks Dusty similar to my local rivers but catching a 20 in my river is considered a seasons best although I recently saw some guys catching huge browns down near the docks that my local river runs out into before the sea up to 6lb fish I had no idea there was fish that far down so I’ll be going down with my wee 5ft 6 UL rod to get in on some of that action take it easy Bro Tight lines ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼
The streamer jigs I use are a custom pattern my good buddy ties up…… he unfortunately isn’t selling any to the public though! They are 1/4 oz. with marabou & feather 👌

Just out of curiosity what county are you fishing in. . It looks like juniata or mifflin county to me ... I live in mifflin county... great trout most people don't realize what's in the water they would normally just roll on by and not even bother with
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 that’s awesome man all the reason why I love Pennsylvania can’t beat it so many streams with pristine water which make anything possibly and leaves a road for a journey of adventure
Hey, good video as always 👍. Do you have any advice for fishing for trout in colder conditions? Ive been pretty successful in spring and summer but usually not during the winter...
Well for starters for the most part anyhow you essentially have the streams all to yourself in cold weather…… aside from that basically run your presentations low & slow in the winter….. the bigger fish can be a more lethargic in the winter months but most definitely still feed…….. a lot of times you may put in a lot of work for few fish but those few fish are usually worth it! 👌😁 Hope some of this helps! 😊
Two points, First I believe trout can feel the pressure waves from your wading up behind them. Second herons should NOT be protected they are getting over populated and love trout. I have a small 1/4 acre pond that I stock with trout I catch in streams around here and bring back alive, for the last 2 years I can't keep trout in there due to herons. Put in around 20 last year not one lasted past the end of June.
Not to be a downer but stocked trout have an insanely high mortality rate after being caught. Handling, transporting, reintroducing a fish to a pond from a river does not sound like a success story to begin with. Second if that small pond isn't 10+ feet WITH constant in flow and out flow brown trout won't survive, even it has water movement at that depth rainbows don't stand any chance. Small ponds + trout- death. The heron is there picking off your dying trout and other inhabitants of the pond, funny you mentioned June as the point of no trout, water temps at that time of year are certainly high enough to kill off any fish still alive at that point
Yeah that was when I exclusively was running a Berkley Cherrywood & broke my last one & couldn’t find another one anywhere! Lol….. resorted to the ol Ugly Stick…. It was a 4’6” Lite Pro….. a bit more of a stiffer action than the regular GX2! 👌 Definitely preferring the St. Croix’s these days though….. the Medium Power, Fast Actions are where heart resides as of late! 🤙😁
Do you have a link to the jacket you have on in this video. It looks like a very nice one for bad weather fishing. As usual another unbelievable video nice browns again.
I don’t have the link but it is a Simms Bulkley insulated wading jacket in Veil Camo! They’re pricey, but you’re definitely not getting cold wearing it…… if it’s not in the 20s you’ll actually sweat in it!
Thanks for your feedback. And thanks for protecting these giant brood stock fish you catch. The way you Handle them with care is respectful not only to the fish but also to the rest of the fishing family.
