    Monsters! Nice water in that 2nd half, different from the slow meandering water in your other videos. Where are the smaller browns, are they simply outmatched by the big fish or are they holding in different feeding spots that you aren't fishing?

    • @chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620

      For some reason it seems like the bigger fish just feed better in the winter….. I actually find this to be the case in most streams not just this one….. I did only fish a handful of relatively small stretches in this stream on these cpl days though, some possibly I just didn’t get to many of the smaller fish holds or refer back to my first thought!? 🤷‍♂️ I did get one small one one that trip though lol👌😁

    i have always wondered but do you break your rod tip on purpose and for what reason do you do that for? I've watched a lot of your clips and i took notice of that weather its a new rod or old rod.

    • @chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620
      @chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620  5 месяцев назад +2

      This all starts with a funny story. Lol
      I’ve actually used a Berkley Cherrywood for many years that was a 5’, well, one day I snapped off the front section of my rod in my truck door or and instead of just discarding the rod I actually used it like that, I began to notice that my accuracy far improved due to the stiffness of the rod and made my flip casts like a sniper!
      So now with my delivery system now being on point, I also noticed that my hook sets were much firmer due to my rod being a little more stout now & having more backbone!
      So fast forward to now, I’ve started using St. Croix rods and unfortunately I had the same shut my rod tip in my truck door encounter and fortunately I didn’t miss a beat with the same tactics enhancing my accuracy even more since the St. Croix rods are even stiffer than the ultralights I was using before! Lol
      Long story, not so short, but hopefully that helps 👌😂

      I’ve been pinching my barbs for the past couple years! Definitely a decision I’m glad I made….. some of my content that I haven’t put out yet contains video from my pre- barb pinch days but honestly if you don’t hook a fish deep even with the barbs they are perfectly fine but it’s Sooo much easier removing the hook when they are pinched…… love how easy it is! 👌

      @@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Yea thats pretty much my experience too... Been using debarbed single hooks for a year and i now rarely have to kill a fish because it swallowed the hook too deep or injured its gills. But you obviously loose some fish because of it... Do you have any tips for fishing browns in mid march? Thats trout season start for us in Germany and i havent had a lot of luck in the past years fishing around that time.

    I'm really impressed by the numbers of really nice fish you are catching from these smaller streams. I see you use spinners and streamers mostly. Do you ever fish crankbaits [Dynamic, Daiwa dr. minnow or Yo-zuri]? Do you use a split-shot ahead of the streamers for weight? My name is Paul. Really enjoy your videos Dusty. Thanks.

      As far as the weight on the streamers I use they are a 1/4 oz. Jighead basically with streamer materials attached to them….. so they sink very well & then swim with every twitch or pull 🤙
      I’ve actually never used any crankbaits in my videos as of yet, but certainly not opposed to the idea, I know they definitely work well!! Possibly something that you’ll see in some of my future presentations! 👌😁
