It probably took three years to make this video, that's why. 😂 Find out all the cards Yugi had in his as opposed to the cards he always played would have been a job and a half
I actually pulled Exodia once for my opening hand during a duel at my local booksamillion when I was a kid was amazing. They actually checked my deck to see if I was stacking was one of my favorite wins.
I just got recommended this, subbed checked for other videos only to see your last upload was years ago. I hope this means you're back, enjoy long form videos, Yu-Gi-Oh and your narration. Looking forward to more
funny thing is, I've seen an actual first turn Exodia. A friend of mine use to have a card stand out at the local Fleamarket where he'd let people play, and would host casual tournaments for a couple packs here and there. And when I say casual, I literally mean this kid showed up to join, and his deck was quite literally a random assortment of cards, with the 5 Exodia pieces. He and a different friend shuffled up, cut each others deck where in my friend shuffled the kids deck himself. they drew their hands and my friend asked "How we ganna decide who goes first?" and the kids responds was just "Um....I win?" after a laugh, he laid his hand out, and it was fucking Exodia, all 5 pieces. The salt there was my friend shuffled that deck himself, so he literally gave himself a fucking Exodia turn zero loose. After some ragging on my friend, cheers to the kid, and the shop keep giving the kid a free pack for a legit turn zero Exodia, they went to game two and the kid was demolished.
38:59 Damn that is crazy, I ALWAYS loved this design over the Japanese version, just looks so much more cooler, especially when you pull it and its like you hit the jackpot.
i remember rewatching the yugi vs rebecca duel and rebecca had lethal with cannon soldier for several turns. she was so cocky from the start by summoning sangan and witch in atk to the beatdown with shadow ghoul to just toy with yugi. i'd say shes dueling properly by having fun playing
I imagine so many of these were episode 5 exclusive because Yugi realized he almost lost to one of the worst archetypes/gimmicks ever and knew he had to rethink everything about the game to save his gramps.
18:40 that would actually be in line with the wording of older cards especially in this case, Waboku. The card taking no damage meaning the opponent's attacking monster would be treated as 0 attack so the defending monster won't be destroyed by battle, instead of you take no damage but the monster is still destroyed
15:09 OMG!!! That explains SO much! How Yugi and Joey's shared Fusion was Black Skull Dragon (instead of Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon), how instead of Dark Magician, Yugi defeated Weevil with Summoned Skull in Duelist Kingdom and was about to defeat Pegasus with it in their first duel, why Pegasus toonified Summoned Skull instead of Dark Magician, why Summoned Skull now has Effect, Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, Xyz, and Link versions of itself compared to Yugi's other monsters who got retrains... Also, if you swap the 1 and 2 in its DEF, then it has the same ATK/DEF as Dark Magician! Not only that, but Summoned Skull's Level and DEF both being lower than Dark Magician's while sharing the same ATK could reference how while Atem is stronger and more capable and experienced than Yugi, both are equally strong (in their own way)! Oh, yeah, forget Gandora! Summoned Skull really is Yugi's true ace! 🌟😈💀🌟
"There's more to dueling than just winning." Good advice to keep in mind should you ever, oh say for example, get your hands on a Seal of Orichalcos or something.
Another fact regarding "Celtic Guardian": In the German version the name of the TCG card is "Keltischer Wächter", a literal translation of "Celtic Guardian", whereas in the German dub of the Anime the monster is called "Elfenschwertkämpfer", literal translation of "Elf Swordsman", which (as you said) is the name used in the English dub as well as the japanese name. Because of this, many German children were quite confused because the monster they knew from the Anime had a totally different name in the real life TCG. I'm also quite sure that many German children don't know much if anything about the Celts (and that they were real people and not fantasy creatures such as elves), which probably only increased the confusion. :-D
I will definitely be sitting down to enjoy this video in a little while, but to answer your very first question; yes, I can name every single card Yugi had in his Duelist Kingdom deck, not only in the anime, but also the manga (there’s a few cards exclusive to each medium) AND I also know every card in his special deck from Episode 13. (The duel against Bakura.)
"3 retrains" Incorrect, there is also Veteran Curse of Dragon. Funny enough though, Veteran Curse of Dragon pays homage to the previous mentioned dark duel stories artwork.
34:56 the sell shattering arrow remind me always Inuyasha with the difference Kagome’s arrows has the pink energy ball is in the tip and there’s always sparkles flying behind the arrow also the word “Shattering” remind me because Kagome use the arrow to shattered the Shikon’s pearl a pink pearl, a pink ball like the image
I had to pause the video and type this at the 2nd card. So pegasus pretty much just copy and pasted Egyptian "monsters" sealed in stone to make duel monsters(in the Yugioh universe), when did the vikings do their viking stuff? Was it after ancient Egypt fell? Cause like, why does celtic warrior exist, assuming I have my timing correct and the vikings were after pharaohs and mummies and the pyramids and shit but then the video says elf warrior so forget I typed out this whole comment, I'm high
On the point of Dark Magician: There's a GBA game where, in the European version, one Dark Magician support card erroneously refers to the monster as "Dark Spellian". Someone really fucked up there... Also, with Battle City rules in Season 2, Gaia The Fierce Knight became literally pointless as Dark Magician required the same tributes for a stronger card with better support, and Summoned Skull was as strong as Dark Magician but without any real support at the time, for only one tribute. Gaia simply wasn't worth the investment.
7:03 but yugi used Gaia as fusion material for Gaia the dragon champion against weevil in the orichalcos saga, when they dueled on top of a train but I know that duel was most remember for “DRAW, MONSTER CARD” over and over for berserker soul 10:19 so sad the eyes in this card don’t match the real monster
when you show lord of the pit you point to the attack/ defense when you say mana cost, his mana cost IS seven but it is displayed on top of the art, the same place where levels are in yugioh
Im not lying but the 2007 or 8 ga.e of yugioh ds i had this happen to me i pulled every exodia piece in my stsrting hand i didn't even have to draw my deck was 80 cards back then 🤣
This is an interesting video, however it's very distracting how you don't pronounce manga right. (MON-GA) Also, that is not a pentagram, that is a Star of David. Which is heavily associated with Exodia due to exodia being a reference to Moses from the Bible. It's also not "anked" it's "ankh", pronounced "unk"
Bro, "summon" is not pronounced like that. Here is a copy from a dictionary. "summon (sʌmən) Word forms: summons , summoning , summoned 1. verb If you summon someone, you order them to come to you."
It's been 3 years since his last video, and I honestly wondered what happened to him. I'm glad to see him back in style thank you 414YGO
He has another channel called 414anime. I think he prefers to create content on that channel since he isn't limited to one anime show.
It’s been far too long but I’ve got a lot in store for 2025! I’m so excited to be back with you all!!

Facts, its not his deck in that arc its his grandpas deck
And it has no weak cards!
Which cards do you think he added to replace the 5 slots left by the Exodia pieces?
@@jamesaditya5254 he mixed his own deck with his grandpas
Summoned skull for example is yugis card

He has returned!
4:41 "Yuma's Number 35: Utopia from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal..."
Number thirty-FIVE would be Ravenous Tarantula you mean Number thirty-NINE.
What? Yuma's ace monster was Number 35: Ravenous Tarantula. I feel like you are mistaken.
Yo welcome back
Welcome back maybe there is some hope at a good 2025 after all lol.
I didn't even know about the Bandai cards until this video. Looks like they were modeled around the season 0 appearance of the game :O

Horn of the Unicorn was also used by Luna in her first duel in 5Ds, where she's dueling against the psychic Duelist
I can almost garantee you that the woman on Soul Release is supposed to be Pegasus's wife
In Italy we have "Black Magician" in both tcg and anime
Duelist Kingdom having the tabletop elements were great. I wish they would release a new version of the game with tabletop rules from Duelist Kingdom.
great video! thanks
"There's more to dueling than just winning."

Anyone else always read Komori Dragon as “Konami Dragon”. My little 6-7 year old brain just held the two together by association.
No way a six year old knew what company was printing their cards. Nonsense.

5:10 as a german i can say your voiceline was okay😂
20:19 also Kuriboh has its name from the Goombas from Super Mario Bros, in Japanese it's called Kuribō, also is the weakest enemy of the series
I remember that Yugi has Pot of Greed, which allows him to draw 2 cards.
I remember griphor, wolf, and torike all in forbidden memories

no, the dark magigian is not called schwosa madschia in german :D
Magician of Black chaos is actually the ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense which 2800 atk and 2600 dfs
I think it's cosmo queen at 2900 attack
Shame about Monster Recovery, that mightve been useful in a lot of duels
they tried to stop Catapul Turtle doing OTKs but then Tachyon appeared
Schwarzer Magier is only in anime. In tcg his name is dunkler Magier ( dark magician) andnyou pronounced it good only the g wasnt prnounced hard.

when you show lord of the pit you point to the attack/ defense when you say mana cost, his mana cost IS seven but it is displayed on top of the art, the same place where levels are in yugioh
Mystical elf could've given a monster 4k attack and it wouldn't be broken or useful. It's original anime effect wasn't good in DM era.
Anyone else think Cosmo Queen should have been a Psychic monster instead.
Yo the first 3 facts are about MY BOY LUIS!!!!!!!!
But if it only had the two legs it would be a bat wyvern.
