      You can also blame Bakura, too. In the original manga, he kills Pegasus. In the anime, Pegasus lives and goes on to make more Fusion monsters, and then Synchro and Xyz. Kaiba is too preoccupied with revenge to focus on more mechanics, which is why summoning mechanics stop evolving.

      The real reason the timeline was re-written was because he left a memo behind that, if his tech were to even destroy the world, then as the President of Kaiba Corp he'd declare the timeline invalid.

      I feel you man! Some of my best memories as a kid was dueling, getting together with friends to trade , playing with duel disks outside and cosplaying characters. One of my only after school activities was going to books a million and playing card games and making new friends. I still remember moments in my childhood where I got cards I never thought I would. One summer I had spent with my step brother, he ended up moving far away at the end of that summer. But before he left he gave me his slyther the sky dragon and told me about him moving. I've bonded a lot through Yu-Gi-Oh and I won't forget the great times I had. Much love

    I absolutely love how you were able to connect the manga and the anime together. Personally, I would put sevens and go rush on their own timeline. Clearly events similar to the previous Yugioh anime (at least up to arc v) happed within that timeline due to background references, but too much about the card game itself is different. Before rush duels, there didn’t seem to be any extra deck mechanics at all. Fusion is invented during the events of Sevens. Also the technology in both sevens and go rush is around the same level of DM/GX

      Master duel fusion summoning does exist in the Sevens Universe. When the rush duel version of fusion is revealed, one of the character directly compares it to polymerization. In addition, unlike Maximum cards, which had to be created from scratch throughout the series, fusion monsters in Sevens already exist, and it’s rather the rush duel exclusive version of polymerization, named Fusion, that has to be created/obtained

    My best theory that makes sense is that Yugioh is a multiverse with different time streams due to the fact the OG Yugioh has three animated continuities (Toei (Season Zero),DM and the manga/DSOD). 5Ds has shown us Yusei,Bruno and Sherry lost in time space with different time streams around them and DSOD Kaiba can also travel through time, space and other dimensions so it’s not out of the realm of possibility for the franchise plus it opens the door to more world building without making everything a mess.

    The re-contextualization that the Manga is it's own seperate dimension as a result of ARC-V gives us a perfect answer of "Where the protagonists are in ARC-V?"
    They, too, were re-born in the manga timeline. Only one instance of Yugi, Jaden, Yusei, and Yuma ever existed - When history was re-written when Zarc was split up, the first four protagonists were separated from the ARC-V timeline, and were brought into the rebirth of the Standard dimension. With time, as the pieces of Zarc reunited in ARC-V, they too, would be reborn in the ARC-V Manga as their own individual people.

    You had some very interesting ideas in this. I can't imagine how much time and effort went to piecing this all together. However, one problem is that in Sevens the cards are very basic at the beginning almost like Duel Monsters, and no one had seen Fusions before Yuo introduced them. Yuga's program changed everyone's cards into Rush Duel cards, so I imagine the characters wouldn't have been surprised by Fusions if they had already been a part of Master Duels. It's later revealed that Fusions were created by the Lukeman, an electronic lifeform. In short, the other summoning methods couldn't have existed before Sevens. The world also establishes that Goha Corporation invented dueling and shows them developing the technology to play duels. If this were to fit in to the timeline, it feels like it would have to be after a nearly word-ending event and humanity rebuilt itself. However, in the Goha museum, Kaiba's throwing Duel Disk and Jack Atlas's Duel Runner can be seen. It's hard to say if these Easter eggs are relics of the past or other concepts that Goha created and just happened to be similar. The technology of the Sevens world is also a step back from Vrains in some ways, such as having physical Duel Disks again instead of the projected Disks. Also, Yuhi and Yuamu are not related to Yuga (or at least the same Yuga from Sevens if there is a Yuga in their world). Episode 20 of Go Rush (which came out after this video) pretty much confirms that Go Rush takes place in an alternate dimension from Sevens. In this world, no one has seen the Sevens style Duel Disk that Yudias has, and Yuamu and Yuhi had never heard of Yuga's Sevens Road Magician when another mysterious character summons it.

      Then again VRAINS was allegedly originally supposed to end with an apocalyptic event where Yusaku dies and humanity is either eradicated or almost eradicated
      So SeVeNs COULD fit if say the reminisces of humanity were to able repopulate and recreate duel monsters from scratch cutting out Ritual, Fusion Synchro, Xyz, and Link Summoning.
      As for why Pendulums didn't show up in VRAINS I theorized after Yuya defeated Genesis Omega Dragon it changed the timeline to the point Pendulum Summoning didn't even existed with Yuzu having the only card to ever exist in the form of Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon with it devolving into a regular effect monster.

      About Fusion, is not true. Fusion already existed in Seven, just that it wasn’t compatible with Rush Duel. When Yuo used it, Gakuto commented Fusion as if he meant Polymerization which proves it exists and it also make sense since Goha Duel is Master Rule.
      Sevens also explained that the Fusion card contains the code that makes fusion possible in Rush Duel. This is why they didn’t explained Fusion card origin since they already existed in Goha Duel, but couldn’t be used in Rush Duel.

    This is….actually astounding. Great work! Also, I’d say that Beyblade is a very weird franchise in terms of timeline and what exactly the spirits within the toys themselves are. It would be interesting to see you tackle that series’ timeline. Not to mention, it has just been confirmed that soon, the 4th generation of Beyblade will begin. Of course, the OG Plastic Gen was the 1st, Metal Fight was the 2nd, and Burst was the 3rd. Not to mention Beywheelz and Beyraiderz creating a multiverse.

    • @ZoulStar
      @ZoulStar Год назад +7

      Beyblade is pretty straightforward in that each generation is its own continuity, since each gen is written by a different author and its been gone on record by them that each generation is self contained.
      That being said, let me explain the spirits and how they differ from each gen:
      -OG had the ancient fighting spirits the Bit Beasts, their origins unknown but found sealed away in rock, to which scientists have tried to study and understand these ancient beings, some even creating artificial bit beasts - Cyber Bit Beasts - for their own personal gain.
      You could establish a bond with them, similar in the same vain to Pokemon because of it’s heavy inspiration/influence at the time of Beyblade’s creation/inception, where if the spirit thought you were worthy, they would establish a bond with you. For example: Tyson’s Dragoon was bonded to his family sword, who soon bonded with Tyson and became part of his Beyblade, wielding it in beybattles.
      -Metal Saga has the constellations spirits where the origin of Beyblade came from the stars themselves, a meteor crashing down to Earth: the Star Fragment, which created the legendary beys Pegasus and L-Drago, thus the creation and foundation for Beyblade as a whole started here in this universe. With Bladers being able to awaken such power by taping into and unlocking their Beyblades potential. Kenta being an example by him unlocking the claws of his Sagittario.
      BeyWheelz and Warriors/Raiderz is a separate timeline, creating a completely different universe in the process that branched from the Metal Saga’s universe, where instead of tops, they were wheelz instead due to a strong divergence that happened sometime far before the events of the Metal series.
      -Burst doesn’t really have a name for its spirits(I am writing this before QuadStrike comes out so they have time to tell us) but their spirits and world are pretty grounded and based more on our own reality(while each gen’s Earth is quite like our own, Burst’s world is more realistic in that it follows more closely to the actual top game). We know nothing about their origins, instead know enough about what they’re capable of and what they can do and provide for their Blader/Partner. Resonance being the name of the strong mental and spiritual bond between blader and their spirit when they are in complete sync with one another.
      Dark Resonance is a corrupted state of this when the Blader’s negative emotions influence the bond, effectively causing this twisted bond causing the spirits to become more demonic in strength and power, causing both parties in a dark possessed like state of becoming one. Some examples of these happening are seen with Shu, Aiger, Phi and Hearts, to list a few.
      And then you have Flare, a fiery state of Resonance which gives a greater boost of power to the user than before. Lane from S5/Surge uniquely had to do deal with this state running wild till later the Hizashi brothers unlocked that same power to try and defeat him.
      Hope this helps!

    Maybe Zarc himself had a hand on the "Why we don't see the previous protagonists in their respective summoning dimensions"?
    Think about it. If there was really a Ritual dimension, the WEAKEST summoning method by FAR before VRAINS (and arguably still is), where do you want to put 4 extremely dangerous people for your resurrection (Yugi, Jaiden, Yusei and Yuuma)? In the dimensions where your nemesis put your soul fragments or this barren wasteland that will probably not advance THAT MUCH compared to the rest, with their more potent Summoning energies?
    Obviously you would want the Ritual Dimension, because there you will not get the problem of dealing with THE KING OF GAMES YUUGI MUTOU, THE KING OF GENTLE DARKNESS JAIDEN, THE TIME TRAVELLING SAVIOUR YUSEI MF FUDO or THE ALIEN CONQUISTADOR YUUMA TSUKUMO.
    But then you would also want the existence of this dimension to be hidden, since if everyone knew about it then they would make contact and bring those disasters with legs to your doorstep, and we know of a single one capable of rallying the rest to do so, Yusei. Yusei has already met Jaiden and Yugi, and meeting Yuuma wouldn't be out of the realm of his capabilities (Or so would think Zarc, considering that he probably doesn't know about the Crimson Dragon but absolutely freaking knew about Paradox, Aporia, Antinomy and Z-one), so you would have to fight your Archnemesis (which they would probably put together) alongside 4 extremely dangerous and capable legendary duelists... Yeah, no thank you.
    He probably made arrangements mid fission to avoid people to know about that dimension, and maybe even had a gateway there as a back-up plan, in the case that he failed, to recover and try again. As long as he could escape, he would've gone to the Ritual Dimension to regain his footing and try again, but didn't count on being reincarnated into a baby to purge his evilness.

    Pretty great video and amazing timeline+theory, but some things should be clarified about ritual summoning in the anime specifically in Arc-V. Ritual summoning was used in both the standard and fusion dimension. Although when it was used by Alexis can be ignored because it was most likely taught to her by Yuya's father who isnt a normal resident of the dimension, the standard dimension does use ritual summoning and might even have a duel school for it specifically. Aura Sentia is the main practitioner of ritual summoning we see and it should be noted that the entire "school" is similar to a spiritual cult or following with a focus on things like divination. Although this is a great theory, it was strange to me that this side character in Arc-V was not mentioned or ritual summoning in Arc-V as a whole was not mentioned.

    1. After watching the first half of the video I feel that you forgot to reinforce the point that chaos energy was back in the world and is likely what zarc tapped into in order to fuse himself with his Dragons it also is likely what allowed him to communicate with his Dragons and that the presence of chaos energy also likely reinforces the point of the changes in the history of the divergent timelines (yes I am suggesting that chaos energy was primarily responsible)
    2 the presence of non sealed chaos energy In the ritual dimension also likely allowed for the creation of the plana/dimension cube as that extra chaos energy didn't exist in the original timeline which then introduces agami and with this more present chaos energy also creates the changes in each of the mangas and likely creates G.O.D and whilst I do like the idea that it is Kiba causing the change in the timeline for the ritual dimension I think it is more interesting If the excess chaos energy created the chance of the manga and reveals Kibas change as likely being because he tapped into chaos energy without an item and it could even explain how he built a device to access the afterlife
    3 also a ritual dimensions zarc fusion was likely impossible to be possible because of the presence of chaos being far more normal (plus also probably created the pendulum summon I'm the normal dimension)

      Idk about it allowing him to contact his dragon's since DM, GX, 5Ds, and ZeXaL touched on the idea of humans having strong connections to their monster spirits that they're able to see and communicate with them.
      Starting with DM built on in GX and 5Ds and reintroduced in ZeXaL via Yuma and Astral's connections with the Numbers and monsters like Rainbow Kuriboh.
      It's possible Zarc is one of those special humans with the connections to duel spirits allowing him to speak to Odd-Eyes, Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing, and Starve Venom.
      Though usually cases like Yugi and Kaiba it involves their connection to the ancient past and the Millennium Items, for Jaden its his Supreme King powers, the Signers being their marks of the Crimson Dragon though Luna and Leo are the only ones capable of speaking to their monster spirits, though we got folks like Jesse, Fujiwara, and Chazz who don't possess any special abilities or items yet they're able to speak to their monster spirits.

For 5ds I’m not sure but I know it has something to do with the synchro energy. For Zexal, he was sealed away until at the end he was freed from his capture when astral opened the gate. For arc 5 , his name is literally zarc the supreme king, he was freed when astral opened the gate but then sealed into 4 different souls: yuya, yuri, yugo,, yuto AND odd eyes pendulum dragon, xyz dark rebellion dragon, clear wing synchro dragon and finally starving venom fusion dragon.

    Kaiba presence definitely impacted the mangas after the original Yugioh manga, though.

    The only problem I have with the Sevens placement is that most of the cards used for rush duels are the standard cards and don't have a seperate card list. This means that the core game is only as far as fusion summons and a lot of the cards have really old stat blocks. Not only that but weak normal monsters are used like crazy too.
    All this leads me to believe that Sevens is actually in-between GX and 5Ds. Since the cards are so archaic, that means that a lot of the real world power creep progression hasn't happened yet. This means that Rush Duels will likely eventually phase out as cards advance and the balance of Rush Duels is ruined, leading to it not existing anymore. Not only that but the "Legend" cards are likely legendary due to their usage by the previous protagonists that used said cards. I'm also pretty sure there are no Legend cards from any later than the GX Era Archetypes.
    Edit: some confusion comes up because the show mentions "solid vision" and people assume that it started in Arc-V, that is a misconception. Solid Vision is the basis for all of Kaiba's hologram technology from the very beginning of the series. On the other hand, Arc-V introduces "Real Solid Vision". With other mentions of things just being a hologram, then technology-wise, Sevens must take place before Arc-V.
    Edit: after further deliberations, it would actually make sense that it was between 5Ds and Zexal, as Jack's runner is there and the official game would be nuked back to GXish Era from the Synchro Summoning controversies.

      theres a couple brief cameos in sevens (eg in ep1) of xyz monsters from zexal and arc-v, plus a couple monsters from vrains (one of which mentions links in its text - armatos legio gladius)
      so if you take their random monster picks completely seriously then thatd suggest sevens does take place post-vrains!

    • @Mr1991bbk
      @Mr1991bbk 2 года назад

      @@spirare6121 that doesn't make any sense though. Since I'm pretty sure that you don't actually see the cards, they may just be like many other cards and just be similar versions that existed beforehand. Also, why wouldn't they use anything more advanced then fusion summoning when rush duels use literally all the cards from the main game. It must be that those aren't the actual cards we're used to.
      As an example, odd-eyes cat leads us to believe that this is post-ArcV. That is only the case if you think of it in the order that we became aware. Why couldn't odd-eyes cat be the original odd-eyes card? It would make sense since it is tied to an archetype based on the other eyed dragons. Not only that but even in the real world we have cards that don't get Archetypes for years.

      Like you mentioned its a rush duel which is something new within the world of the anime so the game is fundamentally different, them not using those cards has no objective indication on its timeframe. Rush duels literally is within the anime a new way to play to simplify the mechanics which in turn could take out the more complicated components like syncros, xyz's, and links

    • @lilsquirt6842
      @lilsquirt6842 2 года назад

      This can easily be explained by Rush Duels in the timeframe within the anime being barely introduced at that time, maybe the Rush Duel in the universe of the anime itself is still in a more infant stage of itself in not allowing Syncros and xyzs like in real life when rush duels were first introduced irl . You have to remember within the universe the dueling simply is a card game that can have its mechanics changed to not allow specific cards, just like real life.

    • @lilsquirt6842
      @lilsquirt6842 2 года назад

      btw all of that could make more sense if Rush GO is set closely after Sevens if it introduces links xyz's and syncros in its dueling system because then that can mean they simply developed the Rush Duel mechanics in the card game within the anime to add those more complicated cards

    I actually love this theory because your past theory on how Arc V essentially erases the past series of yugioh was a great theory that made sense which bothered me because the series we love are gone since they’re drastically different
    However this new theory shows that Arc V did throw things off but, the universe naturally set itself back in motion. Kaibas death did alter the future however, it does not drastically change things until we get to Arc V which just ends up being a standard yugioh series now.
    I guess what bothered me is that instead of something like 5d’s where they changed an apocalyptic future to a bright one, Arc V rewrote that bright future unnecessarily
    I don’t care what anyone says, this is the yugioh universe I’m going with
    Great theory! Never thought I’d say this but thank God for ritual summoning

    As long as YGO continues, I don't think you're gonna be done with it. Take a break if you need to, no one will judge you for that. Your YGO theories have been a point of fascination for me.
    That said, there ARE a few things about THIS theory that I think need to be discussed. First off, I know most people disregard the video games when it comes to YGO rules and story, but in the case of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, I don't think that's wise. This got pretty big, so I think I'll have to split this into two comments. The continuation will be a reply to this one.
    Duel Links is a mobile game, later released on Steam, created by Konami which uses the Speed Duel rules that were made popular in VRAINS. (Speed Duels had existed on Duel Terminal arcade machines as early as the 5D's era, but they were quite a bit more primitive and lacked Skills; special abilities players can use during a Speed Duel.) In it, the player can choose to play as any number of characters, each one with their own unique set of Skills, though some Skills are shared. At first, players could only choose characters from the original Duel Monsters manga. Multiple events in the game seem to indicate that it follows the events of the manga rather than the events of the show. However, if Konami ever includes dialogue that shows that Seto Kaiba (DM) remembers the battle between Yugi and the Pharaoh, that could change.
    Over time, new worlds were added, beginning with GX, then being followed by 5D's. Another world based on Dark Side of Dimensions was added as well, and that was eventually followed by a ZEXAL world and an ARC-V world. We'll be getting VRAINS World later this year, perhaps this month. Details on that world are scant at the moment, but we do know of a few characters who will be showing up, such as Playmaker and Ai, Soulburner (Flame is notably absent), and Varis (though I prefer his Japanese name, Revolver).
    But Duel Links also has a story. This story is meant to explain how characters who died or otherwise ceased to exist in the shows are showing up as playable characters here. Dark Signer Rex Goodwin was the first to figure it out: He and the other Dark Signers were recreated by Duel Links from the memories of the people logging into the game. This is expanded upon further in Duel World ZEXAL after two of the Arclight siblings are introduced, Trey and Quattro. During one of their discussions, Trey says he's encountered duelists who are AT LEAST as good as Quattro, who is effectively the Duel Monsters champion of the entire Asian continent. But Trey says something else that he finds unsettling: No one in his family has ever HEARD of these duelists. These guys do their homework, so they know about every single person in their world who could actually challenge them, but these other duelists who could give Quattro a run for his money seemingly flew completely under their radar. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! The most significant fact that Trey stated was that he had NEVER HEARD of the Kaiba Corporation. It may have been personal bias on his part, but Trey suspects that Duel Links is not only connecting to different dimensions, but is FROM a different dimension.
    Let's move on to Duel World ARC-V. When the Declan Akaba unlock event went live, there was some dialogue between him and Yuya that is pretty interesting. Declan is preparing for another interdimensional war (though it's pretty clear he's hoping it won't happen), and he explains that there are other dimensions in Duel Links, but that they're not the Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Dimensions that Declan and the Lancers traveled through. Yuya then exclaims that this is why characters like Jack and Kite didn't recognize him.
    I saw a thread on the Duel Links subreddit not too long ago which posited a theory that Duel Links was Kaiba's attempt to bring back the Pharaoh. Now he's possibly learned about the Numeron Code and may be preparing a campaign to claim it so he can resurrect Atem. Characters in various Duel Worlds have figured out that Duel Links is recreating events from their history, and some of them believe that a new interdimensional war is coming. Declan Akaba fears the worst and is making preparations in case something like what his father did happens again. However, I think Quinton Arclight from Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL has a much graver concern: The Numeron Code. I don't know if anyone outside of Duel World ZEXAL knows about it yet, but if they do, Quinton is making preparations to defend it. He may have also figured out that Duel Links is recreating history, so his preparations will have to be for threats both old and new. I think there are two individuals who are still alive who will want it: Kaiba and Ai. Kaiba will want it to resurrect the Pharaoh, and Ai will want it to resurrect his fellow Ignis. But Quinton knows how dangerous the Numeron Code is, and the only person he trusts to use it competently is Astral. Every Duel World is gonna get caught up in this if that's how it plays out.
    While Duel Links DOES seem to throw a couple of wrenches into your theory, I think the Numeron Code itself can save it. First off, I think the idea that ZEXAL and ARC-V take place on the same timeline as DM, GX and 5D's just doesn't work. Another big hole is that, even if Momentum tech had been phased out, the Signer Dragons are still historically significant, so there's no way there wouldn't be statues of them at the Duel Lodge... unless they never existed. (But THAT'S also weird because Dark Tuner Nightmare Hand makes a cameo appearance in the very first episode of ZEXAL.)
    In order to make everything work out, we have to go with Multiverse Theory, or at least the idea that there are different dimensions of reality. When the Numeron Dragon created the universe and shed its last tear, I think that the impact of that tear crashing into the Earth caused the timeline to split in MULTIPLE directions. There's a multiverse, with each new YGO story a deviation from First Impact.
    Well... sort of. I think you are right about SOME Of the timelines being created as a result of Astral's use of the Numeron Code. The reunification of the Astral and Barian Worlds (they used to be one world), could have created a ripple effect that would affect all other timelines. In the original manga timeline, this would've created a split where Gozaburo Kaiba would have a biological son, Noah, and THIS would result in the events of the anime timeline (though it's possible that he still had Noah but that he died prior to Seto and Mokuba's adoption). Well, the DM anime timeline anyway.
    Although, if Astral's actions could have had that kind of interdimensional impact, it's entirely possible that his use of the Numeron Code is what caused time to split at First Impact, albeit unintentionally. Astral is powerful and intelligent, but we're talking about a Duel Monsters card that contains the literal source code of REALITY. Nothing short of perfect understanding of that code would be required to minimize the risk of unintended consequences. Even then, there may be instances where any action taken using the Code would still have a non-zero chance of changing something unintentionally.
    Based on Duel Links dialogue, I think that ZEXAL and ARC-V are separate dimensions from each other and from the Duel Monsters timeline(s). In the ZEXAL timeline, hologram tech is still used, but AR is more popular for dueling because it is much more immersive. In ARC-V, Solid Vision was still invented, and a hard-light evolution was created called Real Solid Vision, but it was never used for Dueling until Leo Akaba's experiments led to this, which ultimately caused the Z-ARC crisis. I think that ARC-V is a continuation of the Dark Side of Dimensions timeline, and that none of the alternate-universe OG characters- Crow, Jack, Kite, Alexis, Aster, and a host of cameos- are the same ones as those who appeared in previous anime entries.

    • @SuperPuzzler
      @SuperPuzzler 2 года назад

      PART TWO!
      However, I DO think that VRAINS is the lost "Ritual Dimension" of ARC-V. as you've suggested. But there's a HUGE mystery surrounding its origin and alleged connection to ARC-V. The world of ARC-V was split into four dimensions when Ray defeated Supreme King Z-ARC and split the beast in four. The effect was so profound that it caused Earth to split into four, existing in a state of flux. Supreme King Z-ARC and Ray were also split into four. Zarc clung desperately to his four dragons as he tried to keep them together, which is why the Yu-boys share his face, different aspects of his personality, and a piece of his soul, and why they each have one of his four ace monsters. But why did this cause the world and Ray to split into four, and why was each world focused on a different Summon technique? I think it has to do with the dragons themselves. Remember, the YGO Multiverse was created BY a dragon. This is just speculation, but I think that even the Numeron Dragon had some biases of its own (which is why bias still exists in YGO). Dragons have long been among the most powerful Types in the game of Duel Monsters, and Zarc had come into possession of the four most powerful dragons for those summoning methods. Dragons themselves seem to have a profound effect on reality, and I think that's because all dragons inherited this power from the Numeron Dragon thanks to its own inherent bias towards its own kind.
      But there was (at least) one dragon that was left out of this. Its identity is unknown, but if you are correct about VRAINS being the lost Ritual Dimension, then that means there MUST have been a Ritual Dragon as well. I don't think Zarc ever acquired it, though. But somehow, it knew about the union of Zarc and the other four dragons. When Zarc split, I think the chaos of the entire debacle allowed it to create its own dimension, but it also tried to leave some of its influence in the other four dimensions (which is why Rituals still exist in the Standard and Fusion dimensions). In fact, the recently created Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon, the very first Pendulum Ritual monster, may be a hint as to the nature of this lost Ritual Monster, and how Zarc ended up creating Pendulum Monsters. Whatever the case, though, the Ritual Dragon failed to join its brethren, and it has been lost and forgotten to history in the world of YGO VRAINS.
      But the Duel Disk tech in VRAINS IS notably similar to the tech created by Kaiba in DSOD. Furthermore, we know that a lot of the computer tech is very similar to what Kaiba himself was capable of doing- I mean, he created NUMEROUS simulation programs that would be impossible for us in the real world just based on the math alone- so what happened with that in ARC-V? Well... what if I'm wrong about the lost Ritual Dragon CREATING a dimension? What if, just as Zarc clung to his four dragons, the Ritual Dragon clung to the ARC-V timeline so desperately that it DIDN'T create a new world of its own? Perhaps instead of MAKING a new world, it was THROWN into an OLD one. Some of its influence was left behind in the ARC-V world, a sort of call to its brethren to not be left out, but the card itself was thrown from the ARC-V timeline and into the original manga timeline. Its presence would've led to the popularity of Ritual Monsters rising. But what this DOESN'T explain is the energy distribution problems that Link Monsters were invented to fix. So either something happened that caused Fusion Energy to decrease dramatically, necessitating the creation of the Extra Monster Zone (perhaps Fusion Energy was needed to make Synchro and Xyz Monsters in this dimension?), or the similarities between VR Duel tech and Kaiba's DSOD duel tech are just coincidence- which is something that can happen in a multiverse.
      You're more familiar with the manga than I am, and I admit that there are plenty of ideas in this FREAKING ESSAY that are mere speculation with very little go on. But I don't think that there's any one "lynchpin" that caused the timeline to split. Rather, I think that it's a number of overlapping events and occurrences which caused the YGO universe to split into a multiverse. The most noteworthy events are the life of Noah Kaiba, Astral's use of the Numeron Code, and the Z-ARC crisis.

    I'd actually disagree about GO RUSH!! being a direct sequel to SEVENS. I think it's a different universe, but, at the very least, it takes place a _long time_ after SEVENS.
    Even if it took place in the same timeline, it would have to be over 50 years (likely more) after SEVENS since Manabu mentioned that aliens have to spend at least 3 generations on Earth before they can get an Earth License. There's also the fact that Goha has a completely different logo (which can happen over time, but it tells me either a super long time has passed, or this is an alternate timeline).
    Also the Sogetsu clan has little in common with the Sogetsu Style of SEVENS, and nobody recognizes the last name "Ohdo" as being the same as the creator of Rush Duel, which I find kind of odd.
    Idk, GO RUSH!! can still technically be a sequel to SEVENS, but it'd have to take place a _very_ long time afterwards, which I wouldn't classify as "direct".

    "That Guy" in Go Rush: "Oh yeah I time traveled and had to join the Goha Corporation in the past because Rush Duels needed to get invented"
    The Viewers making the Unfiied timeline: "DAMN IT!"
    Either way though, not sure if the Sevens and Go-Rush Timeline(s) exist in the "Mangaverse" timeline considering the Goha-Corporation seemingly invented Duel Monsters and Dual-discs in the Sevens continuity and even if it could be a far-flung future of Vrains, it doesn't make the most sense why they couldn't just update Link:Vrains to support the new formats by the Sevens Era.
    (That's if we can say all the manga stories can exist in one reality. And I do say for those mentioning the DSOD Epilouge panel, Kaiba's character arc in the Manga and even after DSOD was different enough to where I do say Kaiba would be notably colder character post DSOD still. So I say him not going on to invest heavily in Momentum as in-character for Manga Kaiba)
    Although considering Go-Rush now exists in a overwritten timeline (Thanks Yuga), maybe Sevens is a similar case and after Vrains a time-travel incident occurred (Maybe spurred by something AI found in the whereveritwas he ended up at the very last scene of Vrains) which created the Goha-Corp timeline that led to Sevens which led to Go-Rush after Yuga's accidental time traveling.
