The manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from 1996 to 2004, while the anime adaptation first aired in Japan in 1998. The series has since become one of the most popular and iconic franchises in the trading card game genre.

He is pronouncing multiple names wrong. If you notice it for multiple words/names it's usually intentional. It's an underhanded means of getting people to comment and help boost them in algorithm. Because people are more likely to comment to make obvious corrections.

Battle City was THE BESTTTTTT!! That iconic battle between Yugi and that dude with Revival Jam was my favorite battle ever and also Joeys battles in battle city.
You should’ve mentioned that every time we see big yugi that’s him being possessed. Yugi doesn’t win most of those duels, Atem the pharaoh who’s possessing yugi did
Atem wouldn't be able to win without Yugi's knowledge of the game.
The last duel of that entire series (literally just watched earlier this morning) tells a much different story by the middle of that dude lil Yugi had the arrogant Seto Kaiba praising him while calling him "the King of games" over the pharaoh...
So many good memories... Specially the first season.

Seto Kaiba was a LOT of things but a cheat wasn’t one of them. He beat Solomon fair and square. If anything, Yugi cheated by having constant help.
We need a continuation to the original DM even if its just one season. So kids today know what good cartoon shows are (I'm more than aware it's an anime).
My nephew is stuck watching some cr4p on CN and Disney (and these shows are so bad you have no idea) that whenever i put shaman king, YuGiOh, Naruto or the og Bakugan/Ben 10 he screams from excitement he's 6 btw.

Gotta take more care in editing. You repeat yourself, rereading the same sentence twice in a row, about 3 or 4 times in the second half of the video.
Why was Kaiba in a public school in the first place? He’s way smarter than most of those kids, and the only thing that came from going to public school was learning the whereabouts of the fourth Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
In the manga and season 0 he was there specifically to look for powerful cards and being enrolled was just a cover. The DM anime made it look like he was just another regular student because of needing to truncate several events that had been covered in the other tellings.

The amount of mispronounciations of names in this video is staggering. It's almost like they just went through the wiki and never watched a single episode.
Edit: There was also the COMPLETELY missing seasons of the Orichalcos and the cyber world arc.
I Did mention that to him. He should watch the full show, delete this video and make a full and proper version. Battle City could honestly have gotten significantly shortened or even cut in both versions without affecting the story much. They just cut or shorten several duels, completely adjust the arc and lengthen duels in other better arcs.

I had such a hard time as a child figuring out yugioh when it fist came out because it was so vastly different from the show. It eventually got there during battle city. I still can't believe that censorship helped to create one of the best aspects of the show with "the shadow realm"

@pn2294 dude yeah I know that. I didn't say anything about the manga in any of those. Season 0 TV show still adds to the Pharoah though by giving him kind of an evil person that he starts as which makes his progress into being a hero way more valuable. It does add to the story. It makes the scene where he was about to kill Kaiba more intense and when Yugi says he's giving g up dueling after it you get a lot more context.
Noah's virtual world Arc doesn't affect the story at all. Season as much as it was an amazing season doesn't change the story at all. It helps build up side characters to be more likable. The whole Atlantis exisying thing is the closest it actually gets to affecting the story. Season 5 tournament arc and capsule monsters literally don't change anything. They just reinforce what we already know about the characters.

Nice retrospective look at the Yugioh duel monsters series, even though there is some incorrect information, missing stories from the anime, and constant shifts between what happened in the English dub and the Japanese version.
I Did mention he missed some stories from the anime. He'll likely make an anime version too or change this video to fix the errors.

If they never happened, it wouldn’t have made a difference. No permanent character development, no good story. Pointless arcs
@@shamylhashmi7531 On the contrary, Battle city was by far the most overrated and pointless arc in the whole franchise. Marik And Yami Marik were underwhelming, most duels were too long and not given full potential etc. Waking The Dragons and Grand Championship had many improvements and virtual world at least showed us some of Kaiba's background etc.

He did miss a few arcs too. Honestly while a tad difficult, they could've cut battle city from both versions of Yu-Gi-Oh! without affecting the story. Instead, the rare hunters could've worked for Yami Bakura and Waking the dragons and millennium world would've gotten significantly longer.

My biggest gripe is the butchering of the dub name
Skipped the Noah Virtual World and Doma arc. Short recap for the some non filler plot.
Virtual World of Noah was about Kaiba's biological son and Gozaboro. Spoilers The Big 5 comes for revenge from the 1st season. Yugi and co escaped to the return to the real world.
Doma is the story of The Seal of Oricalcos and The Great Leviathan destruction of The Kingdom of Atlantis. Yugi Joey and Seto Kaiba are three Knights descendants from 10,000. The Pharaoh was able to stop Dartz and The Great Leviathan. Also KC Grand Prix before The Pharaoh's Memories Arc.
