Ur not alone. Just got into duel links and was curious about yugioh. Came across this video but I've only watched the original yugioh and a bit of gx. Have no idea about these other series. Im confused
I've watched the entire duel monster series, some of the first season of gx, little clips of zexal, season 1 and 2 of arc V and none of 5ds, vrains and sevens.
But, is still fan theory and without Konami giving any clear answers that's all it is. That been said, this guys with such a confident rhetoric that I'm never seeing Yu-Gi-Oh! the same again... Until I forget all of this in a couple of weeks.
Yeah i liked arc V and their cards and anime even with the characters i liked replaced it had a tiny bit of heart in it but the series went on for so many episodes making it boring in the later half of the plot with zarc The only anime I don't want to comprehend is Vrains because of how people abuse them in real life spamming 3 link monsters plus a Fused Dragoon as if konami hasn't done much about this So until they do I've lost their trust and the anime was not really my absolute favorite yet it was better than the cards
Yugi started pro dueling to save his Grandfather. Yusei started pro dueling the save himself and his friends from the satellite. Yuma started pro dueling for his dad and Aster. Yuya started pro dueling for his career. Jaden started pro dueling purely because he loved dueling. That's it. No world domination, no saving trapped souls, no visions of the future. Zip. Zilch. Nada. FUN. That's all she wrote. Everyone else had some semblance in their mind that they were going to face trials- Jaden just suddenly had his world turned upside down with no warning and was thrust headfirst into things no kid should have to experience.
Jaden does have bad experiences, like Yubel putting his opponents in a coma when he was a kid but Jaden's parents being neglectful as they were just sent Jaden to a doctor to give him brain operation to forget about Yubel's existence and sent Yubel to space where they met the gentle darkness.

Another similarity between Yusei and Yugo: in a match, yugo draws an important tuner card and he sees a connected arc path exactly like yusei. That was really interesting since no one (If I recall correctly) in 5ds and arc V had that "vision path"
Still informative since I didn't watched Arc-V but thinking about watching it cause Crow Hogan appears there lol (I know it's not the Crow from 5ds which makes me sad :(. )
So basically Rey knew of these Legendary Duelists and knew their public persona and thought it would be a good idea to fuse them into the fragments of the guy she sealed away without doing any background checks? I'm surprised it only back fired with ONE of them.
To be fair Yuya was going to be a good kid because he'd get Yugi and not Atem's soul Yusei is an incorruptible force so that explains Yugo Yuto is sketchy as even in the sun before the war he was described as fun loving but stoic Yuri is pretty much dead on as maybe fusing the quartered soul of the devil with the very essence of darkness might not have been the best plan Then again only Jaden had knowledge of what he was so there's no way Rey would know
Well, to be fair it wasn't like she had time to do background checks and just chose the best duelist she could think of. If she had time to pick and choose like this then I would be face-palming right now.
@@DioStandProud Tbf the Gentle Darkness was more of a benevolent force given the Neo-Spacians and Elemental HERO Neos were literally bathed in its power since their designs were launched into space when Jaden was a kid and were still benevolent beings wanting to save the universe hell the Supreme King was meant to save the world from the Light of Destruction which shows not all Light is good and not all Darkness is evil. The huge question and mystery is how did the Supreme King ever get corrupted in the first place!? For Yuto one would argue Ray took peak ZeXaL III thus Yuma and Astral as Astral is a pretty stoic character and in ZeXaL Yuma looks pretty stoic, but still be emotional
@@DioStandProud but yuya doesn’t need Atem’s soul for it to have backfired. Why? Pegasus and Marik (I think, it could have been Bakura) had their items long before yugi first completed the puzzle. And even without Zorc, the shadow games almost destroyed the world the first time... and second time.
One thing that supports the Jaiden and Yuri theory is that Yuri actually has the most fun when actually dueling people, even though it's in a sick, demented way. Jaiden always had the time of his life when dueling, and clearly loved it more than any other protagonist, as time and again, he was having fun even when his or even his friends lives were on the line

Alright, let's see if I can BS a reply to that astute observation: *takes a puff of inhaler and takes a pull of Red Bull* You see, OBVIOUSLY, it's cuz Super Polymerization is a card bonded with Jaden's soul, which is how it ended up in Yuri's deck. But the God cards were sealed away with Atem (who separated from Yugi) and the Numbers were bound to Astal, not Yuma (who likewise separated). So OBVIOUSLY Yuya and Yuto couldn't have things like god cards and Numbers! Now as for Yusei and the Crimson Dragon.................................. um........... *SMOKE BOMB*
The first season was about the same thing. Atem is a pharaoh who failed to become god because his name was scratched out of history and he was forgotten. The duel monsters system is based on the ba and ka magic system of Egypt so the whole game was literally magic. The strongest magic came from the millennium items which had the power of a dark but unknown god-like being behind them that was capable of possessing people. Etc etc.

I remember hearing a theory that ZARC, because he was still a god-tier being, exerted some influence over this. He couldn't stop the split, but he could tweak it a little. So, the first thing he did was remove the four big threats to him trying to resurrect. He then poured as much influence as he could into Yuri with the goal being to have one that would find a way to reunite with it's component parts.

Remember when Jaden interrogated his ghost teacher by trapping him in a bag and threatening to flush him down the toilet if he didn't talk? It was in season 4 after the whole Yubel fusion thing and probably meant for comic relief, but still a pretty hardcore thing to do considering how if the ghost was trapped in a bag he probably cannot go through solid walls. So the teacher really could have gotten stuck in the dark sewer for a long time at least till he made his way to the surface somewhere.
Yeah. Even though I love Judai, his season 4 personality was just really cold. Also, you noticed the way he started dueling too. So one thing that needs clarification. The Supreme king and his power of the gentle darkness were originally there to counter the light of destruction and yubel was supposed to be his guardian. Here's a cool similarity between yuto and Yuma that you missed. In the time before the fusion invasion, yuto's goal was to become the heartland city champion, a title that kite was favored to win. Yuma's goal in early Zexal was becoming the world duel carnival champion, a title that kite was favored to win. They were both rivals to kite in a sense.
babysinclairfan obviously the characters in each dimension were meant to reflect the past series protagonist in each respective city. Why else would they make the worlds unique to past shows? Nothing but pandering, and fusion/ritual came in the original do this dimension plot is complete nonsense.
Being from a dimension where Fusion, XYZ, Synchro and now Links exist, I can agree that separating them was the greatest choice to limit how strong people can get. Dudes be tripping in my dimension. Luckily, YGO is just a card game here and we ca't kill each other.
I’ve witnessed someone’s passion of dueling break in real time. Poor guy looked like his soul left his body after the duel and he wouldn’t move when the next round was announced. I think he was just tuckered out
Dude, his childhood wasn't great either. Like, have all your friends be scared of you because of one card and having to straight out go to theory for because of it. That kinda bad.
Actually I think there are more similarities between Yuma's & Yuto's personalities. Remember that during Zexal, Yuma was forced to duel for survival for both himself and his friends. You see that by the end of the Baryon arc, Yuma forgot how to enjoy dueling and became much more serious. He was even about to quit dueling as he stated himself. I think Yuto is very similar to Baryon arc Yuma because he also maintains that drive for survival and protecting his friends. He also goes about it in a very similar manner to Yuma, being reckless and irrational and wanting to go it alone to not endanger anyone else.
Gotta take into consideration of how they were brought up, Yuri especially. While 3 of them lived relatively normal lives before the war. Yuri was trained as a duel soldier, which Zarc could easily take advantage of. If it wasn't the Professor, Yuri could of ended up as a kinder boy. Though if your theory was right. It would of been cool if, instead of facing of against the Lancers. Yuya had to duel the previous protagonists. Still would be kinda cheap but, it would still be pretty cool. Having Yuya stick to his style and have face duellists he doesn't know with powerful decks.
Due to the Alter World nature, they might have party members who are considered close enough with more recent tactics and Cards to make this trial more fun, or painful

I actually think this is a REALLY GOOD hypothesis on the whole ARC-V storyline and really does make totally sense. In fact that’s how I’m viewing the show now because it really does fit so perfectly especially since ARC-V is an alternate reality. However I don’t believe their spirits or souls exist in the ARC-V protagonists, but rather Ray took the qualities of each of the hero’s when she made the new personalities. A “piece” of them exists in the sense that they were the template for which they were built but their actual souls, no. I always felt like after GX there’s a spilt, half goes of the timeline goes into the 5Ds timeline aka the main timeline and ZEXAL & ARC-V the other timeline aka alternate reality after the ARC-V split. But the souls of the past heroes definitely do NOT reside in Yuya. They were the template that is all. I don’t believe someone can “write” someone out of existence especially those of such importance. When Paradox tried to, the Crimson Dragon protected Yusei, and that was all about time jumping. So I believe their original souls belong to themselves just like everyone, however she may have used their likeness and personalities as a BASIS for what they would become. That’s all. Yuya became complete when all the pieces of his (Zarc’s) soul were put back together. And as a last side note, no one beats Yugi just saying except Atem and they kinda are the same so that’s moot lol.
Nah 5ds is cannon because neo domino city is just a rebuilt version of the OG and officer trudge was in Duel monsters and it was confirmed in a data book it’s the same character and yusei knows of Yugi and his king of games title Zexal is very tough To piece together due to the time being way too far apart and barely any reference to the past shows but That Dojo episode if it’s not complete filler Shows Yuma’s shock and delight at the legendary monsters and knows of Dark magician red eyes blue eyes and neos
According to Orichalcos season, monsters existed since Atlantis civilization 5k years befoee the Egyptians discovered rhem and exploited them with their magic
There's still the bit of Zarc in them, so I think the Yu-Boys are like an exaggeration of the former leads going awry: Yuto is a colder battle-hardened Yuma, Yugo slips up sometimes by having less smarts or maturity than Yusei, keeping the societal rebel and speed-freak daredevil side, and Yuya plays off friendship into showiness, a cheaper way to get people to like you. Yuri doesn't seem to be a slacker like Jaden either, in fact a worthy student.
I think zarcs overwhelming personalities went into previous heroes with opposite personalities to balance them out. The showiness of zarc into the humble and shy yugi. The malice/ competitiveness of zarc into the seemingly carefree jaden. (Then yubel and the supreme king happened) The impulsivity and manic of zarc into the clear minded yusei. The intellect of zarc into the monkey boy who was dropped on the head as a kid
Remember that Yuma was also corrupted by Barrian energy making him evil. Yugo did not have the skills but he had the dragon. Now I don't what happened with the Crimson Dragon but you also have to remember that without the Mark of the Crimson Dragon, i am gonna say that Yusei victory streak wouldn't be so big.
Yeah a better ending would be, Yuya able to escape out of zarc body battling him. And then some how was able to get Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri out, also freeing the dragons. All 4 of them having a last show down, Zarc and his evil version of the dragon VS yuya/yuto/yugo/yuri and their dragons. Defeat Zarc and turning him back into his good self, because don't forget he was just a talented duelist who became what he is because of the crowds malicious and thirst for violence.
Just something funny i noticed. If you look at Yuto's hair in the past. It's basically Astral's hair style. That also fits with the fact that he becomes Yuya's "spirit" and is the only person who can see him until later on where he becomes Yuya, similar to the Pharoah's possession of Yugi.
I don't think its just Jaden's influence that made Yuri who he is, unlike the other fragments of Z-Arc Yuri was never raised to become like the other fragments where he was raised to be the opposite of them, not to mention he never grew a bond with Celina unlike the others too, Leo Akeba basically made the dark influence in Yuri grew over the years.
Oh shii- when you talked about yuri I started questioning why does he became corrupted, but then I remembered Jaden literally fuse himself with yubel so that's actually makes sense
Yeah me too I was like "ok but jf every zarc piece fused with a protagonist how did Yuri fused with Jaiden beco... OH THAT'S RIGHT YUBEL, NEVERMIND IT ALL MAKES SENSE"
They may never confirm something like this, but this is one hell of a good theory that has a great hypothesis and examples to back it up. Well worth the watch, I applaud this video 👏🏼
Damn, this was awesome!!! I’m 100% convinced of this theory already. I’ve only gotten through a bit of 5Ds so far after rewatching duel monsters and GX, but when I get to arc-v, this’ll be my head canon for sure.
spinjutsu master is rigth; part 6 still follows jonathan's decendants. like pre ARC-5 following same timeline with og, GX, 5D'S, and ZEXAL. but ARC-5's timeline is broken into 4, like Pucci fucked over the universe
So not sure why this showed up on my suggested, but I've watched through 5ds and as soon as you got to the explanation about Zarc being sealed within the protagonists my brain went: "Oh...she fucked uuuuuuuuuuup with Jayden"
What an incredibly thought out and explained theory. I haven’t paid much attention to the anime since 5ds ended, but this video makes want to continue onto the later series
After rewatching whole Yugioh, I can really agree with that, they are all very similar, especially Yuri and Judai are fucking true, Yuri is basically crazy Judai, still has fun during the duel but psyopatic and sadistic like Yubel...cards are just the bonus proof in that case
11:19 if I recall correctly (it’s been four years since I watched Zexal so I could be wrong) Yuma lost Astral for a bit and a lot of his carefree attitude he used to cover his sadness. Overall this is an awesome video.
Imo, love the theory, it’s my headcanon now. Though, when Zarc was reformed, I think the four protagonists should have been free and the only ones who remember what life was supposed to be like. Then you proceed to get the four of them meeting and taking on Zarc like they did Paradox. Because that would have been awesome.

Yuya and yugi have more similarities: 1. They both have necklaces that players a part to the story. 2. They both have the letters y and u at the beggining of their name making the sound yu 3. Both are protagonists of their own series
@@SpellCommander91 You did well on the other ones when you where giving your points for the other characters as well. Just the GX explanation & music choice seemed to really fit as of how the Jaden & Zarc merging went wrong because of the darkness of Yubel & the Surpreme King, as feeling very ominous & tragic at the same time. Like it's sad to think that Jaden's soul succumbed to Zarc's influence because of his ties to darkness, despite making mends with his darkness to be good, only to add the darkness of Zarc to erase it all.
Make sense since I love both Jaden and Yuri 😂, and don't forget that Duel academy was a place full of evil, from the sacred beasts, lunatic teachers to occult worshipping students 😅, it was Jaden who clean that place up
I would love a big old crossover over movie with all six of the series's protagonists coming together to fight so big baddie threatening to destroy the multiverse and somehow yugi and atem are still separate people but it's like the last episode were they got separate bodys
Hmmm perhaps there could be one. Have the malnific boi go get all of the baddies. Then have a protagonist duel against a baddie that they would not be used to.
I'm gonna be that guy and say I want yugi to not have atem for that one if it happens. I want to see a grown up little yugi come into his own a bit more to show how much he learned from atem but that even separated he's able to move forward. So I other words I want to see confident possibly adult yugi for something like that.
I’d also like to briefly add that influence from Akaba in the fusion dimension tampered with Yuri and Serena’s relationship/ life. Yuri was kinda bred to be a ruthless soldier. But I still very much like this theory and agree with it.
I totally agree especially how each of the heroes in Yu-Gi-Oh is similar to each other zarc counterparts but I must say yuri venom deck is based on Professor Viper from Yu-Gi-Oh GX since you yubel did work with him
It’s also based off how the supreme king has a dark attribute deck, also the predaplant archetype effects are based around super poly and how it effects their opponent
Jackson Almodobar the yuma one did feel like a stretch but the Jaden being Yuri one was just way too accurate to be pure coincidence especially both of them having Super Polymerization since only Jaden should have it.
One more thing people tend to forget about Yuri, people fear his deck and that's what attracted Akaba and what made Akaba push those negative traits to the light... It's very possible, that if Yuri had found friends, or was never found by Akaba, he could have avoid bring out all of these negative traits completely to the light, but being more of small personality defects instead of full on what make his personality, and allow for the more positive traits of Judai/Jaden, Yubel and the supreme king(Because these last 2 had/have positive traits) to come out to light in him.
People don't fear Yuri's deck, that was never implied in the show. People fear Yuri himself. Just as people feared Jaden when he was the Supreme King, it was never about fearing the Supreme Kings deck or even his super polymerization card. It was fearing the king himself. Its also the same with Zarc, people don't fear his deck, they fear him.
The moment I heard that Zark was getting a chunk of himself merged with Jaden, I thought "Huh...that's, like, three whole Hitlers in one body at this point. There's no way that's a good idea." And, yeah. Totally not a good idea. Now he's Hitler^3 and an inter-dimensional threat...again. Anyways I guess I need to watch Arc V now. Also that one with Xyz summoning. Basically I need to catch up on everything past 5Ds.
If you haven’t started yet I’d recommend giving Yuma time to improve. His whole dueling arc is that he starts out playing like total garbage but gradually improves after meeting astral til he’s actually pretty capable.
Zexal gets better as time goes on. Around episode 48 onwards in my opinion. Arc V kind of falls a part after around the half way mark. But that is more because of the dark side of dimensions movie affecting the production. Which resulted in the following series Vrains having a lot of clip shows in the first 60 episode cause they didn't recover from it. Which is why Studio Gallop no longer animates yugioh anymore sadly.
I don't know Yuri all that well, but could Jaden's love of dueling be twisted in Yuri, so instead of just living to play, he loves the hurt others via dueling.
I just thought Zark sealed their them in the afterlife so that they couldn't interfere and kick his butt. They can't be a problem if they are not allowed back on this side.
Honestly, this is an amazing idea. And you built up to this perfectly. Got me hooked. Hell, it’s probably true. You’re telling a very impressive story and can back it up without failure. This is insane.
Steel Ball Run and Arc-V has basically the same plot: Thanks to an immensely powerful villain, the universe is reset and all pre-established characters are remade and fused with other characters. Cept' steel ball run is a horse race to find Jesus, and Arc-V is extra deck racism against the CEO of extra deck racism who's every extra deck monster combined.
Solid theory. The twist with Super Polymerization is a great one. When I first saw that as a kid (mind you, this was before 5D's even came out), I seriously thought it was the ultimate card, so, lot of nostalgia there.

@@LS-qs9ju to be fair, Yugi didn't really depend on the extra deck that often. With the exception of the non-canon season 4, he barely used it. With him, it was usually one fusion monster at a time.
Another similarity between the yuma and yuto is that they're both willing to lose a duel in order to help people. In zexal, yuma duels and almost loses to shark in order to get shark to lose the hate in his heart. Yugo did something similar with sora in arc-v.

I must definitely agree with everything you said except for your analysis of yuto being unlike yuma, his personality is reminiscent of zexal but everything else was so spot on! You did a phenomenal job breaking everything down... Man I love Yugioh, you made my morning.
You are right that when Yuma zexal morphs (gets serious and maybe has some astral influence over their now shared body) just the look in his eyes looks a lot like Yutos. Yutos is still maybe a bit darker with past pain and innocence lost but the intensity is there!
8:06 Yuya and Yugi also both wear a belt around their necks and both have a necklace with a special object that sometimes glows on the end. 11:09 in this shot yuto similarly to Yuma has a two tone sweatshirt and a shirt with one solid color with lines going through it. Just in a different pattern than Yuma’s.

The first season was about the same thing. Atem is a pharaoh who failed to become god because his name was scratched out of history and he was forgotten. The strongest magic came from the millennium items which had the power of a dark but unknown god-like being behind them that was capable of possessing people. Etc etc.

@@emredeniz1016non link extra deck aren't limited to the extra zone or where a link points to
Actually I think there are more similarities between Yuma's & Yuto's personalities.

Amen brother... getting sick of these 3rd rate duelist with 4th rate decks.

Yugo is a reincarnated Yusei? With Yugo’s losses, I don’t buy it
There's still the bit of Zarc in them, so I think the Yu-Boys are like an exaggeration of the former leads going awry:
Yuto is a colder battle-hardened Yuma, Yugo slips up sometimes by having less smarts or maturity than Yusei, keeping the societal rebel and speed-freak daredevil side, and Yuya plays off friendship into showiness, a cheaper way to get people to like you.
(Then yubel and the supreme king happened)
The impulsivity and manic of zarc into the clear minded yusei.
The intellect of zarc into the monkey boy who was dropped on the head as a kid
Yea, the Yu-boys being the opposite of the previous protagonists personality seems likely.

Out of all the theories I’ve seen about where the others YUGIOH protagonists are in Arc - V, yours is the one who makes the most sense
this makes me even angrier about the wasted potential of arc-v . imagine the protagonists teaming up against zarc instead of that bs we actually got.
I know right, I really wanted an arc where the Yuya's had to go into the dimensions to find the yuzu's

After rewatching whole Yugioh, I can really agree with that, they are all very similar, especially Yuri and Judai are fucking true, Yuri is basically crazy Judai, still has fun during the duel but psyopatic and sadistic like Yubel...cards are just the bonus proof in that case

Ritual cards are played in the main deck, not the extra deck like xyz, fusion and synchro cards. That is the distinguishing factor.
Imo, love the theory, it’s my headcanon now. Though, when Zarc was reformed, I think the four protagonists should have been free and the only ones who remember what life was supposed to be like.
It was already done with yugi, yuse and jaden
I'm gonna be that guy and say I want yugi to not have atem for that one if it happens. I want to see a grown up little yugi come into his own a bit more to show how much he learned from atem but that even separated he's able to move forward. So I other words I want to see confident possibly adult yugi for something like that.
I’d also like to briefly add that influence from Akaba in the fusion dimension tampered with Yuri and Serena’s relationship/ life. Yuri was kinda bred to be a ruthless soldier. But I still very much like this theory and agree with it.
bruh i just finished the first yu-gi-oh and im hearing maths equations
I totally agree especially how each of the heroes in Yu-Gi-Oh is similar to each other zarc counterparts but I must say yuri venom deck is based on Professor Viper from Yu-Gi-Oh GX since you yubel did work with him
It’s also based off how the supreme king has a dark attribute deck, also the predaplant archetype effects are based around super poly and how it effects their opponent
Jack Hero idk, I felt like a lot of the comparisons feel like way to big of a stretch with a conspiracy theory level logical leaps.
That's pretty similar to the fear Jayden had when he had yubel as his ace. Maybe this is what would have happened if he didn't send yubel away
There's no way that's a good idea."
And, yeah.
I just always assumed Arc-V was a parallel dimension story hence why none of the other protagonists appeared.
i agree
I just thought Zark sealed their them in the afterlife so that they couldn't interfere and kick his butt. They can't be a problem if they are not allowed back on this side.
I've always wondered if zark was the zark. You know the God of evil that the Pharo atem defeated. You know resurrection and all that.
