But for now I’m going to let this series have a rest. It’s been really fun learning about these characters, I hope you all enjoyed it too! All the best everyone!

Here's something that I noticed: the Yu-boys are the opisite of the earlier Protagonists, kinda.
Yugi is quite shy while Yuya isn't.
Judai is a friendly happy-go-lucky guy while Yuri is sadistic and quite sociopathic.
Yusei is a calm and collected guy while Yugo is exprisive and impulsive.
Yuma is Expresive, impulsive and make Yugo seem like a thinker at times while Yuto is Calm, Collected and tries to not bite off more than he can chew.

Yuri's politeness during duels could be viewed as a sense of sportsmanship and respect that zarc had for deulists. Until the audience encouraged him to embrace his sadistic nature.

same way yugo's impulsiveness is both his positive and dark trait. Zarc knowing instinctively what the right actions to take are, but overdoing it and getting lost in his impulses.

Yuri did have a bit of an arc, but it was one of those aborted parts of the plot.
The anime was building up to Yuri feeling lonely and unappreciated growing up, since he was poor at socializing. He later came to the conclusion that other people only noticed him when he inflicted pain through duels. This was going to be a parrallel to Selina, who felt that she was sheltered and yearned for a chance to prove herself.

Honestly this one suffered a lot from "we don't have time before the next episode comes out" syndrome, where it got forgotten or was scrapped due to a tight schedule... HOWEVER, this could've been stopped if they pulled a page from good ol' classic YGO anime, and put a filler season to at least flesh it out a little bit more.

And that's why Yuri and Serena should have met. I think that they would be able to understand one another. Serena wanted to be recognized by Akaba, which Yuri was able to accomplish, while Yuri wanted to have friends, something Serena accomplished. Basically, Yuri needed someone to see him as more than a monster and Serena wanted someone to recognize her strength. While Serena was saved by her darkness, thanks to Yuzu, Yuri fell deeper into his darkness.
Yuto's logic:

I can't believe decades after the release of the First Season ever, which we still make fun of today, the anime is still such a low quality thing... Card Effects get made up and/or got wrong, Common Sense does not exist, and I sometimes think What the Heck is even going on, like for example when someone didn't used any cards in a duel and just punched his opponent - and it had no consequences whatsoever. The adults in this world never do anything. These were just examples.

People everywhere agree that the most iconic things about yugioh derive from the original series. The anime is about the plot as well. Not just the tcg. I think that Yuri could've been a good guy in the series, the only reason why he turned out bad was because he didnt have any relationship with his dimension's girl counterpart, Celina. The only reason why was because Leo interfered with what supposed to be their romantic relationship by taking control of their dimension, he literally didnt bother to raise him properly or let celina be with him so that he wont go evil. The series literally and obviously showed that it was all Leo's fault why the 4 dimensions even interacted and fought against each other

So, here we have all the aspects of Z-ARC.
Yuya: happy go lucky and optimistic Dueltainer who believes in wowing an audience with his dueling entertainment skills.
Yuto: the calm and collected soldier who believes in doing the right thing by putting his friends' desires and welbeings over his own.
Yugo: the aggressively competitive racer who wants to be the best by challenging the best, and will always answer any challenge in front of him.
Yuri: the sadistic problem child who wants to watch every dimmension burn and enjoys delivering pain onto others.
Yuto has always been my favorite character from this series. I got upset when he 'died' in show and I still get upset. Especially when the opening teases the audience with a Yuto vs. Reiji duel. I wanted to see that.
Not only that, another opening of Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V shows Yuya vs. Yugo, but we NEVER get to see them duel each other in canon.
I love yuri. The fusion guy is cool too.
The writers channeled their cynical and self deprecating dialogue thru him, which makes me mad cause it gives the impression that they should know better than what they did write for dialogue

Yugo is the only one of the Yu boys whose hair doesn't match the colour of the Summoning Method of the Dimension that he comes from just like how Rin's hair colour doesn't match up with any shade of Ray's hair like the other Bracelet Girls. And Clear Wing Synchro Dragon is the only one out of Odd-Eyes, Dark Rebellion and Starving Venom that isn't a DARK monster as it's a WIND monster instead. Guess the Synchro Dimension breaks any consistances in the anime.
If this serie got at least 40-50 more episodes, exploring more the XYZ Dimension and giving more character development to some characters like Yuri or Edo Phoenix, it would have been one of the bests Yugioh series. It’s basically Crisis on Infinte Earths in Yugioh style.

My favorite is yuto because of his dark\ caring personality
I would like to point out that the yu-boys' alternative protagonists are the exact opposites: Ute and Yuma with Yuma being a childish character while Ute is calm, Hugo is impulsive while Yusei is calculated, Joeri is excited while judai is lax, and finally, yuya is overly ecstatic with happy sounding cards, while yugi focuses les on spectacles and more on tactics. Yuya is also brighter while Atem is dark dark in personallity.
So the thing about Yuri suddenly Being nice is for the most part time constraints but you could also make the case that he accepts losing to Yuya and just tags along cause he can. (He doesn't seem upset losing to yuya)
After watching arc v yugo instantly became my favorite character and his cards definently grew on me cause I was a big 5ds fan back then so it made me feel so nostalgic. I do love yuto and yuya and yuri but yugo definently became my new favorite character of synchro summoning
You forgot to mention that yugo also has similarities with Joey wheeler and his reliance on luck and how he sees dueling as not straight forwards.
At least Joey can use his brain to make strategies... x)

I feel like the Yu-Gi-Oh Protagonists are similar to the Yu boys and here’s why:
Yuya has a reincarnation of himself (Yuto) inside of him similar to Yugi’s connection with Atem and how Yuya struggled to overcome Z-Arc just like how Yugi tried to hold Atem back in duelist kingdom and in the duel against Rafael (or Raphael)
Yuma is a pure and cunning guy like Yuto but Yuma holds a sadness deep inside of him similar to Yuto’s sadness after the attack in his dimension
Yugo was a expert at fixing duel runners just like Yusei and Yugo was mostly targeted in sector security like Yusei (these were the best I could think of)
And even though Jaden is not cruel and ruthless like Yuri, Jaden had merged with Yubel and struggled at maintaining the Supreme King’s power and Jaden had depression ever since that incident and started changing his feelings over dueling like Yuri

for the record, yuri actually had a really good arc in the manga, one that shows how he was a really nice and sincere person to someone who still really cares about people he loves, but can be sadistic during duels.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think it would have been interresting if Yuto was absord by Yuri. among all the reincarnations of Zarc we can say that Yuri is the one that most resembles him, we can see that he has a lot of fun in the duels, but due to the influence of other people, he ended up distorting it, just like Zarc

Yuri. Purple for fusion
Yugo. White for synchro

My favorite Yu-boy? That's is tough, to me, Yuto got dirt for dying first, Yuto was a cool character, but he was just being tossed around Dimensions, Yuri was really one dimensional, but he was probably the most powerful besides Yuya, who was the protagonist. I think we should've had a Yuri vs Reiji, Yugo should've had a break, and Yuri some development (he just need it a friend, he was Gaara here), Yuto should've had more duels too, even if it was against Yuya, just for practice or against the Obelisk Force.
Yuya was aware of yuto's presence as a host to help out of the situation where it went wrong of other duelists and dimensions also what zarc wants of his conquest from before the dimensions are split into 4 by Ray akaba.
Considering Zarc was reborn again and the 4 incarnates were still around. It kinda makes since that the dark traits would be "removed"... and considering Yuri was the most like Zarc, he'd definitely would get a radical change of heart.
Yuya became the champion during his duel with Jack atlas for the first time and the next when overcome his fear of zarc due to the help of the souls of his incarnates.

As the dimensions of 4 returned to normal after zarc's defeat the yu boys are freed from his will and the dragons when sealed off by Riley upon ray's will of natural cards when turned young.
Another fun fact is that three of the Four yuboys use horse like monster's Radish Horse for Yuya Break Sword for Yuto and Horse Stilts for Yugo.

At first i thought yugo is the one from fusion dimension XD
Even though I stopped playing shortly after... uh, that Synchro Six Samurai was introduced, I still keep up with the anime. GX was pretty awesome, 5Ds and Zezal... not so much, but ARCV definitely was fun to watch, as it's a throwback to ALL of the previous spin offs. Also, because Yuya's very likable as a main character.
I really wonder if Arc V wasn't made as an aniversary series. :/
I personally liked 5D’s and zexal because I think they have some of the best duels but also some of the more interesting duelists in the series. 5Ds vs ragnarok and Quatro vs Nash are definitely 2 of my favorite duels in the series

Personally I much prefer their character and relationship in the manga. Their brotherly relationship feels a lot more wholesome and better to explore (also made their finale disappearance a lot more impactful). I was kinda hoping we’d get that brotherly persona swapping personality after Zarc was defeated.

Actually, Yugi's father is still alive. The creator said he is on business and is always super busy.
Also, we never said Judaï's parent were dead
With that said, Yuya is the first protagonist where his parents are activly in the main story... If we forget the fact they are actually not his birth parents.

Great video. Also Yugo is the best and the strongest duelist and would've beat Yuri if he hadn't been dueling with kite and edo at the same time for whatever reason.
Yuya: magician monsters like yugi's dark magician.
Yuto: warrior monsters like yuma's utopia.
Yugo: main deck machine monsters like yusei's main deck and wind synchro monsters from extra deck like yusei's stardust dragon.

Ok, you probably seen that video about how Zark was evil until a woman named Ray sealed him away and herself into 4 different worlds and with all different counterparts of Zark but. After he was split into 4 different counterparts of himself so far only Yuri attain any psychopath tendencies while the rest of his personalities Yuya,Yugo, and Yuto all had positive so that means Zark was 25 percent negative and evil, while he was 75 percent positive, wait, that can't be right of course, it's not right because Zark fragments and the different dimensions fuses with Yugi Moto, Jaden Yugi, Yusei Fudo,and Yuma Tsukamo, I think when ray resetting the universe and sealed her greatest enemy in the 4 form main protagonist in yugioh series Yugi Moto, fused with the standard dimension to become Yuya Sukaki, Jaden Yugi fuse with the fusion dimension become Yuri, Yusei Fudo fuse with the synchro dimension to become Yugo, and Yuma Tsukamo be used with XYZ dimension to become Yuto, let's look at the difference between these protagonists, and there Arc V counterparts fist we will start with Yugi & Yuya both of them wear their school uniforms while dueling both of them wear their jackets like cape and their deck are sort of similar to each other, if you look at their cards both have room for spell casting monsters and supporting monsters I have room for dragon type monsters. In both of their decks, now on to yusei & Yugo these 2 are identically the same. In fact, their back stories are the same to both grew up in the satellite. Both build duel runners with their friends, both have wanted to escape the satellite both have room for tuner type monsters. In their deck in fact, their main monsters are almost summer because clear wing synchro dragon is almost identical to Stardust dragon, if you look at their designs and their colors are how they're similar, now on to Yuma & Yuto this one might have a hard time looking at the comparisons Yuto does not obtain Yuma goofy and silly behavior but there are similarities I think if the fusion dimension didn't attack his dimension, I think he was showed more of Yuma attitude and his Goofy and clumsy nature and how he's a good person, now on to Jaden & Yuri I think Ray made a grave mistake when she had a part of her enemy in this fun loving dueling boy it's odd how Yugi, Yusei and Yuma can create malevolent beings like Yuya,Yugo, and Yuto, but Jaden soul was the only one who made a psychopath like Yuri though people who watched GX may remember that Jaden soul is a reincarnation of the Supreme king became evil and ruled over power, but there's also Yubel and as we seen in the show Jaden & Yubel permanently fused with each other and also what card that both Jaden and Yuri both share super polymerization that also what Yubel and the Supreme king have to and let's look at some of these 3. That show off. Their personalities in Yuri first off Yuri shows off of love having fun while dueling just like Jaden. He show Psychopath a tendencies That mostly shows how evil he is just like Yubel he's cold hearted, ruthless I'll do anything to win just like Supreme king Ray made a grave error in judgment when she sealed a piece of her enemy in this fun dueling boy from dueling academy so that means Yuri has Jaden, Yubel,the Supreme king, and Zark and also what Deck dose Yuri and Yubel share plant based decks you see why I mean
The Yu-boys makes more sense in the manga. I was blown away when reading it, should we compare the manga Yu-boys and the anime Yu-boys?
I like the story of the anime better but the manga gives them more character. They were extremely underplayed on the anime
However the manga itself gave Arc-V another bad ending which if you think the anime's ending is worse, this is far more worse.

@@Shantae1188 Yuya and Reiji came back in time right? In the ending Yuzu confesses his love to Yuya however Yuya said he will meet him again someday. It is somehow revealed that Yuya's mother is Yuzu and his father is Yusho, so yeah it's kinda messed up.

I realized that yuri has a lot about him that makes him differ from the other yu boys more than any other, and I'd just like to mention what I've noticed
Getting the 3 more obvious ones out the way:
He's the only one who wanted to be zarc again
He had no relationship with his ray counterpart
And he is the only one who's name is only 1 silable while all the others are 2, yu and then somthing else
The other 2 I realized are:
He is the only one not to have their dragon have 2500 ATK points
And he is the only one to lack any other monsters of his summoning type

Yuya=Yugi/Atem+25% Zarc
Yuto=Yuma+25% Zarc
Yuri=Yusei+25% Zarc
Yuri=Jaden+Yubel+Haô+25% Zarc+whatever other Soul Jaden had towards the end of GX
If that theory is Correct Yuya has the Protags Souls too and thus would make him the most OP Duelist ever (Anime-wise)
One extra thing. The yu boys personality reflects other Yugioh MCs. Yuya is like Jaden. Yuto is similar to Yusei (Similar. Not the same) Yugo is like Yuma. And Yuri is Yugi (Season 0) cause they're evil and pretty sadistic.
While in their own dimentions (ex:yuri and jaden)Theyre complete opposites
I wish Yuri had a relationship with Celina if he didn't become a bad guy while the darkness was controlling him thru Z-ARC but he loses it after Z-ARC's defeat & became a good guy instead of him not exist anymore but instead he is within Yuya now. Yuya has Yuri's Starving Venom Fusion Dragon Yugo's Clear Wing Synchro Dragon & last but not least Yuto's Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon & Yuya has his own ac monster Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon Yuya was finally free from Z-ARC Yuya knows Z-ARC is taking it too far to try to destroy the world.
