Calibre's tunes are just on another level and he pumps them out like its nothing, i get absolutely hypnotized when i listen through his discog, its representative of how serious this genre can actually get ... Where the art is pushed outside of a club environment and positioned in a way that really makes you go "Wow, there's more to this music here", there's DNB and then there's Calibre ... Thanks to him we now have more of this kind of sound being pushed, labels like NTQ, Integral, 1985 and so many more flying the banner helping push the foundation that Calibre laid down for all of us ... Couldn't say enough great things about his music.
He's def. in the mix. To me I can't call a no. 1, there are several no. 1's but the threshold is high. Masters of the craft are rare but all exist in the same rarified air.
Brilliant interview, because of the people involved, the connection between them and also Fabio's great interviewing style. Amazing dj but also a fantastic presenter and interviewer.
Great to hear my old mucker Dominic, I remember how terrified you were starting out in shine night club back in the 1990’S.memory lane me you and Smyth.from john mc manus
Completely glued to the interview. I felt like I was on the couch listening to two old friends talking. Been listening to Calibre since his first release and Fabio since the mid-90’s
It’s incredible what he’s done in 20 plus Years, i remember hearing his first tunes on Creative source and he was Instantly my favorite dnb producer. There’s a warmth and organic feeling in his tunes that can’t be duplicated
This interviewer asked the perfect question in my opinion for an underground dj/producer... what's the "balancing act" between keeping the floor dancing and bumpin ..but at the same time add some sneak attacks and new maybe more "leftfield" sounds to get people excited about! ... just dont be boring!
Two artists, this is the part of dnb which I truly love. And the dancing, and the whole vibe. Which is art too in a sense so my story still checks out.
Nice interview..deep , two guys who are passionate about music and get down to the nitty gritty The main difference is calibre is a producer and plays his own work ...Fabio is a selector amd searches for tunes ...calibre ..the artist
This is just my opinion....Calibre releases so many tracks every year snd he covers so many different sounds....from minimalistic rollers to atmospheric tracks to Hospital style liquid to the more darker, hard stuff. Theres much he released that I love, even some tracks that i consider straight classics (Hypnotize or Mr Majic)...but he also has released numerous tracks you hear once and forget them literally the next day...😂 Some of his hardcore "fans" act like every track is a timless, contemporary classic....I have the same issue with the Scientific Wax guys....throw some synth strings with heavy edited Amen breaks and deep sub basslines and them nane the tracks even similar like "Ethereal" , "Saturn" or whatever Star system or new age type nomenclature they find in a cosmology book😂 is kind off repetitive.... Calibre releases too much and works almost too hard.... really incredible the output and ideas this man has....i wished he would do quality over quantity. Of course his stans will get triggered, thats why i will end this the way i started the comment....this is just my opinion....
I agree. Calibre makes a lot of tracks, but not the best tracks ever produced. He has a formula to produce tracks at a high volume. If that volume decreased and more time was spent on producing tracks, maybe his tracks would be even better. - who knows? That said, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. He does have an advantage of playing unique DJ sets by playing his own music and DJing is really where the money is.

Calibre is the No1 DnB producer for me. Sure he doesn’t produce big hit tracks but his tunes are so timeless and well composed.

Its that key thing, timeless and well composed. 👏🏾 that element is missing from copycats sorry producers today
Dillinja has to be no. 1
Dillinja has to be no. 1
His Filter Tune is my favorite DnB track ever.
There is so much love and appreciation between these two and you can tell.
Calibre is a legend

Totally agree, really enjoyed the video and interview myself.
Right? I remember getting HS internet at my house in Chicago in ~2000 and could stream BBC. I was addicted to Fabio from jump.
Love both of these men.

Really loved this. Feels great being in an age where we can get these incites
What an amazing interview.
Two OG’s. Very interesting. Never knew Calibre was northern Irish all these years 😅
Completely glued to the interview. I felt like I was on the couch listening to two old friends talking. Been listening to Calibre since his first release and Fabio since the mid-90’s
Absolute legends of the game whilst also being the most down to earth people
So glad I stumbled over this!

Nice interview ❤️ 2 legends talking - a very honest, insightful interview of 2 of many gods of Drum and Bass
Classic Calibre, oh yeah I got FOUR albums coming out soon 🤣 such a great convo
Still waiting on these albums, but the major labels blocking up the thing
@@NextSound170 all the forthcoming albums he mentioned came out between 2020 and 2022
Love hearing Calibre talk music through a cheap telemarketing headset.
Calibre - The Greatest of all Time
didnt know about this till now, defo coming back
Two humble "genius" talk that talk❤
Fabio and humble lol. I love him but he is anything but that.
Fantastic interview it's like I got to know both of them

Love the last five minutes how Calibre talks about life death Best friends and dealing with Marcus passing. Big up Fabio great interview
❤
The 35 minute mark - ish is so on point. That's it. That's it exactly. It's madness atm.
i feel calibre molded my style of making dnb a lot as i love making orchestral dnb
maximum respect
Quality interview
👊
I like that idea of the mayfly landing on the oak tree and saying "i own this". Sums up how i feel about nationalism.
When real meets real, it's the realist.
fabio is such a don
I disagree, I think a good DJ is very underrated
