  • Hey everybody - if you’ve done any research on these, you’ll know that there are very few differences between these two headsets: driver size, ear cushions, and some quality of life improvements. The standard Cloud Stinger 2 comes with 50 mm drivers, leatherette memory foam ear cushions, and rotatable ear cups whereas the Stinger 2 Core has 40 mm drivers, fabric ear cushions, and non-rotatable ear cups. That’s it; there’s the list. How does that translate into actual use? Well, to keep it simple, I think the Stinger 2 sounds better and the Stinger 2 Core is more comfortable to wear. The 50 mm drivers definitely put out boomier audio but I’ve never loved leatherette ear cushions, especially for long sessions. In my mind, HyperX should have just released one version of this with 50 mm drivers and provided swappable ear cushions in the box. Other than that, both of these are great budget options for anyone looking for a sub-50 dollar headset. The quality is there, the audio is what you should expect for 40 bucks, and the microphone is surprisingly good.
Hope the video helps with any purchasing decisions or questions you had about these. Thanks for watching and have a great week.
