    in spite of MANY features of the RAZER blackshark... I still went with the CLOUD wireless. Why you ask? Because no amount of FEATURES will bring if your headset snaps like a twig after 6 months to a year or so... GO FOR DURABILITY people, the features are useless if you can't wear them in your HEAD

      I'd always pick anything over a Razer product. I had some of the cheapest keyboard/mouse combos you could imagine, I rocked a 20$ redragon set that included a keyboard+mouse+headphones+mousepad (yes, ALL that for 20$) for a few years, the mouse would usually break around 2 years and the keyboards were going solid, headphones would give in after 2 years as well. I got a Razer keyboard and mouse as a birthday gift, my first big brand, and the keyboard felt awful, the mouse broke after around 8 months. Keyboard was so shit, some keycaps still had rough edges that scratched my fingers' skin. And they were like x5 more expensive than the redragon combo.
      Now I stuck with redragon for keyboards (cheap but reliable), the Logitech G502 for the mouse, and I have some HyperX Stinger headphones from years ago that I wanna upgrade from. Razer is a cheap chinese brand that sells their mediocre cheap plastic products for quality prices. I'll either try to switch to Logitech for the headphones, as I'm more than satisfied with their mouse and I heard their products are great, or will stay with HyperX. Razer always had shitty plastic builds that broke after just a few months, and I'm not the type that punches their mouses or anything like that.

    Thanks for a detailed and a practical video. I was so confused looking and all the reviews and reading Rtings and other reviews. I work on multiple computers and ability to use this on both at a time, one with dongle and other with BT is huge thing for me. Also I already have Razer DA V2 Pro (due to same ability to switch to BT and 2.4) I don't have to download another piece of software as I already have use synapse. Though only one thing I don't like about this headset is they lack detachable mic and it can't be flipped out of my face when I don't want it.

    I am waiting for PC38X wireless edition in order to go wireless, till then I am sticking with my oldie Sennheiser Game One. Most of the sub $200 wireless I have seen are closed back, while I really want open back. Are there any you would say to jump to, sound being priority, for gaming only? Thanks for the review.

    • @MercuryTV
      @MercuryTV  15 дней назад

      The only open back wireless gaming headset (with a mic) out there is the Turtle Beach Atlas Air. Audio quality is really good, build quality is okay (not great or terrible) and they’re incredibly lightweight. Clamping force is almost nonexistent but a lot of people find them to be very comfortable. Mic isn’t anywhere close as good or clear as Game One and I wasn’t the biggest fan of their software last time I used them. However, they're legit the only option I know of right now and I hope they sell well enough that someone else takes a crack at a wireless open back gaming headset.

      @@MercuryTV Thanks for the swift reply. I will check reviews on them definitely. But, somehow, being Sennheiser sound signature 'lover', having Momentum Wireless 4, Momentum True Wireless 4, HD600 and HD58X & then Game One, I am not sure that Turtle Beach will do me satisfaction. :)
      But I really want to go wireless, and sound + comfort means a lot. Also checking Audeze Maxwell (costlier), along with these 2 in this review (like Razer somehow more, but mic cannot be removed/moved!).

Just one question (I know this is months late I'm sorry), how does it do with noise cancellation for you (not the mic like your other video, but through the earphones) with blocking out sounds around you like loud neighbors/pets/etc? I'm looking for something to keep me immersed from the noise around me interfering. Thx again!

    I heard the out-of-box tuning/eq for the Cloud 3s are a lot better while the Blackshark V2 are muddy. I owned the budget V2X and hated it, the Cloud 3 are slightly worse than the Alpha Wired, which is miles ahead of the V2X. Also r u going to review the logitech x astro headset in the background?

    • @MercuryTV
      @MercuryTV  8 месяцев назад

      My take is that you pretty much have to mess with the EQ settings for the Blackshark out of the box while I honestly didn’t touch the tuning for the Cloud IIIs for a very long time. Neither hold a candle to the audio from the Pro X 2s I reviewed a few weeks ago.
      And yes I plan on doing a review and comparison of those A50x’s you saw in the background. WAAAAAAAAY OVERPRICED even if they are pretty nice.

    Hey man got a question about the Cloud III wireless. Planning on buying soon. If I download the driver do I still get a chance to disable it and avoid the added latency? Or once I install it I can't go back? Or is this just the dts toggle in the app?

    • @MercuryTV
      @MercuryTV  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah you can download the software no issues - the only pop up occurs if you try to enable Dolby (which I never care for anyways) or adjust EQ settings. I believe if you turn it off the whole latency “issue” goes away. I used them with a custom preset, never noticed a problem.
      Edit: sorry this is a long way to say “don’t let this deter you from buying them”

      Edit 2: I heard the wired one even has latency without any eq lol

  • @FaelonZ
    @FaelonZ 5 месяцев назад +1

    blackshark is handsdown way better in every way. I had so many weird problems with my hyperx, the adjustments were unevenly loose so the left side just slipped for no reason. The mic would sometimes have like 10 db of gain added for no reason until I muted and unmuted the mic. And the mic picks up everything, even the mute button as you go to mute, so as you're muting that loud click noise (which is insanely annoying even to the user) is heard by everyone every time you mute. The sidetone was good, and the software was simplistic, but it just had so many weird issues. The only thing I've seen with the blackshark so far is that when you mute the mic (if using sidetone) there is a small cut in audio, it only happens when the sidetone is active. It's most likely a software issue, I am using the new synapse beta so it's probably a small bug, but other than that after some simple EQ they sound great and the mic is amazing.

    HyperX has 50+ hours of battery life over Razer's and the hinges are all metal outside of the cups. Also, it looks more sober, which is good if you'll use it in work meetings and more serious activities. For the same price point, I'd recommend Blackshark only if you really need bluetooth.
