I never really got into Shostakovich but this work is downright genius. This one piece, alone, has bound to have been such an inspiration for many a television or cinematic thriller to come in every decade that has since followed. I do wonder what inspired this in a time when there wasn't that much inspiration such as this. I'd like to think that I work on the side of the angels but even I can see what a translation of chaos into graspable form this is. He, Shostakovich, has translated it greatly into a work we can user interface with. He made Sense out of Chaos. They had this mic'ed really well, here, too, didn't they. 'Hat's Off' to these performers!
    [And to Shostakovich, of course.]

Unglaublich. Ein opus 11. .. Bis zur Viola-Sonate reiht sich bei Schosta ein Meisterwerk an das andere . Trotz aller Kalamitaeten in seinem Leben
