Miami River 31 May 24

Hi Everyone,
I had a crazy and fun day on the river. Launch was at 6:45 and takeout was 5 pm. From launch until 3 pm, I had 15 fish in the boat. It was grind to say the least. I had determined that it was best to just head for the takeout and call it a day. Of course, I have to fish my way home so as I am making my way down river, I come across a section of rock bank. I caught 2 fish in the stretch so I paddled back up and fished it again. Caught another fish. In all I made 4 passes and caught fish each time. Shortly after that, I came on another rock back and caught more fish. Another rock bank and more fish. So up until 3 pm I had 15 fish and from 3 pm to 5 pm, I caught 12 fish. It was quite the turn around and a great end to the day.
The side story was that randomly as I was fishing along, my life jacket self inflated and scared the *&^% out of me. It did not get wet and I did not accidentally pull the actuator. Over time humidity has degraded the bobbin, (safety switch), and it decided that it was time to set itself off. For the rest of the trip, I had it in the boat with me and I suppose it would've worked like an old fashioned life preserver. Oh well, time for a rearming kit.
