Already dyno'd by Blueprint (658-616) but first run since I installed the motor.
    Holley Sniper - Hyperspark (MSD)
    Dynomax exhaust
    BIG day for this project!!!
Doing the body at my shop and the mechanical at home.
Body was removed from the frame July 30th.

Noice! Ordering my 496 in a couple weeks to replace a blown up 396 in my 66 Chevelle. Can't wait!

It'll be worth the wait. I think I had to wait 3+ months for mine

Sounds extremely healthy! I’ve got a Blueprint 383 in my ‘85 GMC shortbed and love it.

Seems to be a good motor. I was anxious to fire it up as I had ordered this back in March. Took 4+ months to get.
Glad to hear you're liking your 383!!!

I have Hedman 48948 headers that bolted up perfectly to my old 396 (1966 Chevelle SS) but am upgrading to a Blueprint 496 with the .3" raised exhaust ports. Any idea if they will fit on the 496?

    • @scottf4249
      @scottf4249 Год назад +1

I'm not for sure about those. I just looked at my parts list, and it appears I used Hedman 68198 Elite Ultra-Duty HTC Coated Full Length Headers. I didn't noticed any issues with the raised exhaust ports.

@@scottf4249 My mistake, my headers are also 68198... duh. Great news to hear they bolt right up. Thanks for the reply!

Awesome build! I have a Blueprint 496 Stroker BBC Full dress with the Holley Sniper EFI on order, delivery due second week of February, 2023. A few questions if you don't mind? Are you happy with this 496 and have you had any issues to date? I am concerned that it does not have roller rockers and Blueprint will not make any changes or upgrades. You would think with a roller cam it would also have roller rockers!

Your engine will be fine without them, very easy upgrade in the future if desired. Nominal gain.

Still have it. No issues with it. I don't have that many miles on it. Definitely feel the power. I only put a TH350 behind it (A Super Streetfighter). I have a more updated video here. You can here the motor at about6:50 I think

@@johnnyhotrod Yea, I almost went LS, but I guess I'm more ole' school. I'd probably go LS if I had did it again.
Nice though that the 496 block is 'new' along with the heads. At the time you could get the 'seasoned' chevy block

@@TAZattitude Yeah, plus LS requires new mounts, headers, fuel system,etc-things add up quick. That 496 is a pretty sweet deal for that power.A new motor for that dough is hard to beat

These tuck up a little higher than C10 headers.
This is a video from last month. I'm quite a bit further even from the link in this video.
