  • Collage of video segments and pics of my 1966 GMC Suburban ( Carryall ) build
    Purchased 1/22/21. It’s “almost” completed!!!
    I’ve put up a couple videos before of this truck (be sure and check them out)
    1966 GMC Suburban (close to a Chevy Suburban)
    Front is the same as a GMC truck along with a C10 except the grill and the hood.
    Came with a 351e. Now has a 496 Blueprint motor
    TH350 Super Streetfighter
    12 bolt
    Converted the GMC leafsprings to the Chevy trailing arms
    Took the body off July 31st 2021
    All panels on the truck are original.
    #gmcsuburban #restomod #c10
    I did all the paint and bodywork along with the assembly
    This is my 5th frame-off - 3 c10s (2 1963 and 1966), 1972 Mercury Montego GT

      If you come over, I'll have to drive it to the shop so you can check it out.

    Amazing work, I have a 65 K10, I only wish I knew how to do this kind of work. I don't even know here to start LOL!

      Definitely a lot of work. I does help having your own bodyshop though. I believe this is my 5th frame off. Good luck if you decide to redo your truck! 👍

    Absolute work of Art! Great job seeing it all the way through. I wonder how many GMC customs were made?

      Thank you...I wondered that to. I think I remember I saw like 4500 Chevy,s but didn't see the GMC production numbers

      @@TAZattitude I will try to find out production number.. I’m also buying a 66 gmc as well. Your body mount in the center of the frame looks like new. It looks almost like a motor mount with rubber inside it. Where you able to find a source for them? I don’t believe the Chevy burbs used them so must be a low demand item. Thanks!

    Burb looks great! I have a 63 that I’m in the middle of and wondering what fuel tank are you using with the fuel injection?

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  Год назад

      You can do a 'search' for tank on this page and you'll see the tank I used along with a link to it.

      I drilled a hole and added an extra steel tube for the return line in the sending unit

    Nice! Where are you located, and do you have a shop?

      Thank you, I did have a shop, but had to close up after 20 years. I am working for Bert's Harley-Davidson in Clearwater, helping them open a bodyshop. You can see my monthly updates on the Suburban Here

    Which BP 496 is that? Project looks and sounds great!

      Thank you. I believe they only had 2 options. One with the seasoned block (Chevy), and then one using their block and heads. I opted for using the new BluePrint block and heads

    • @scottf4249
      @scottf4249 Год назад +1

      Also, I did just buy the long block. I don't know how they Dyno it, but it was dyno'd to.

      @@scottf4249 ok thanks U ordered mine in September and they called last week and said they were about to start building it, that hopefully I would receive it mid June. I'm doing like you buying just the new long block setup with aluminum heads BP4967CT. Hope my numbers look that good!!

      Yea, I was impressed. I think it was 658 hp and 611 torque (haven't looked at the sheet for months!). Good luck to you

    Do you think the vinyl on the headliner was glued directly to the roof?

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I would say it was glued on from the factory

    • @ladyjane569
      @ladyjane569 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks, we have a 66 as well...someone quoted us at $700 to do the headliner, but I think we can do it 🤔

    • @TAZattitude
      @TAZattitude  6 месяцев назад +1

      It will take some work, but I'm sure you can do it by yourself. Buy some 3M trim adhesive in spray can and that will help. Tape up the rails and do one section at a time.
